We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

A wonderful place!
A wonderful place! Well worth visiting for its natural beauty, walks and wildlife. Also very well organised with shuttle around the park and to major walking tracks. Definitely worth visiting ng Waldheim for the history of the place

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.
Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

Shuttle buses run frequently to the shores of Dove Lake, making it a must-see mountain resort in Tasmania for easy day-hiking. It's also great to be able to see wombats up close around Ronny Creek. If you have a national park pass, you can buy a shuttle bus ticket valid for 72 hours for $15, so we recommend staying near the visitors centre for 3 to 4 nights.

A lot of walks have well maintained paths so most people can use them.
The scenery is fantastic but beware, be prepared, the weather can be very good one minute and cold and wet the next.
Pay for the shuttle bus, it makes life easier.

Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart.
Cradle Mountain is a long way from Hobart. Don't go the Queenstown route - it takes forever. Go via Launceston. The National Park is gorgeous. Use the boardwalk to hike up to the Creek. It's quiet and right there in the middle of the bush. We saw wallabies, birds and snakes. We hiked up to the Boat House and then used the shuttle bus back to the bus stop by our hotel. The shuttles are every 5-10 minutes. The rangers are great.

Check-in process seemless. Reception Staff were friendly, gave excellent service and made us feel genuinely welcome.
The fact that there was quite a well stocked area with a range of grocery items, including dairy and frozen goods, was a bonus for our travelling group.
The cabins were equipped with a very efficient heating system, which had been turned on prior to our arrival, to warm the rooms up.
Our family of three absolutely loved our stay at the Cradle Mountain Highlanders. It was our favourite accommodation whilst in Tassie. It was very clean and well appointed. Excellent cooking facilities. The beds were super comfortable. The cabins are spaced well appart with trees all around with wildlife literally at your doorstep. It was such a peaceful, private place to stay, so quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
That it was so handy to Cradle Mountain and the day walks.
The cosy fireplaces throughout the hotel on the cooler nights.
The games in the lounge areas to keep you occupied during down time and also a place to chat and mingle with other guests.
The wildlife on the hotel grounds.
The most comfortable beds I have slept in during my stay.
I could go on and on but this is an amazing place to stay.
It is quiet, the cabins are well spread out, and it’s located so closed to the visitor centre. The cabin we stayed in is spacious, clean and has everything we need to keep us warm and snug. tThe kitchen is very well equipped so we could cook our meals. Dianne was very welcoming and the gentleman staff was very nice to teach us how to lit the wood fire.
Beautiful room, views and hotel. Guest lounge was an added bonus. Loved the location and access to Cradle mountain. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The meal was delicious and the service of all the staff was excellent. Comfortable beds and nice little lounge area and balcony in the room.
The room was very well decorated and there was a great view of the forest looking out from the Jacuzzi. The cabins had lots of privacy and we were not disturbed by any of the neighboring cabins. Location was very near to the cradle mountain visitor center for shuttle access to the national park.
The hotel is just in the Conservation area of Cradle Mountain. Stunning scenery, fresh air, wildlife and hiking trails - everything in one place. Definitely worths staying. Breakfast was included and it was delicious and there were a great variety of food, fresh fruit, etc.
The location of the hotel is great, the staffs are all very friendly and supportive, the lodge area is super comfy. You can even enjoy a great massage in the hotel after a whole day of hiking. Will definitely come again and recommend to friends.
Stunning incredible view of the pond from our balcony. Spacious room in a cute cabin with gas fireplace in the room. Breakfast was included. And close to wonderful enchanting trails. Absolutely loved this hotel and the experience we had here.
We were in one of the new cabins and it was great. Had everything we needed, bed was comfy and it even has a fireplace in the living room. Would definitely come back to stay here again if we ever head up to Cradle Mountain again.
Really? It's Cradle Mountain. The most expensive stay of our trip but so worth it. We did a couple of amazing hikes. The cabin was great and it was only expensive because it was just the 2 of us for 2 bedrooms...
Really enjoyed our stay here. Was a perfect base for exploring cradle mountain. Loved the restaurant and loved waking up to snow in the morning and all of the animals that came up close and personal on our balcony.
We have stayed here several times and will return on future visits to Cradle Mountain. The cabins have everything you need - perfect for self catering if you don't take advantage of the great restaurant on site.
Great accommodation so close to the shuttle buses heading into Cradle Mountain. We loved that you couldn't see any of the neighbouring cabins and all the different wildlife
Great choice - well situated to Cradle Mountain National Park. Very good breakfast. Short walking trail from hotel with wild life. Laundry facilities were available.
