Relaxing holiday for families who enjoy outdoors. Close to Girraween National Park, and a beautiful walk along the river through the middle of town. The Christmas Tree Farm is an enchanting place to visit at any time of the year. We have been to Stanthorpe a few times and love being in a country town away from the city for a while. Food is great! Whether eating at a pub or a local restaurant you’ll get a lovely meal that is great value for money too. The wineries and boutique food producers are fun places to go to as well. It is impossible to say no to a lot of their products - we couldn’t anyway! There is a museum there but we’re saving it for the next time we visit.😊

A widespread choice of activities related to wine and fruit and cheese but with disparate activities such as breathtaking National Park walks within a short drive, a fantastic Christmas Farm that is definitely worth a visit and an overall selection of top shelf dining experiences but with all tastes catered for. The Granite Belt Brewery had incredibly good food, the cheeses were outstanding, as our cool bag can attest. We will be back, and soon, as there is so much more to see. Lovely people too.

Stanthorpe and surrounds are just lovely (especially in the cooler months) with food and wine tours, art and crafts, antiques and more. People are friendly and there is lots to see. Locals even recommended other towns and points of interest to visit (like Warwick and Tenterfield), markets and places to explore. Girraween National Park, Donnelly’s Castle are great spots to check out the massive and precarious boulders - a spectacular natural feature of the area. Cafe at Ballandean St Jude’s Cellar Door and Bistro made a delicious Sunday breakfast - busy with locals, bike riders, and visitors alike (quite busy). Tried to get into a couple of restaurants in Stanthorpe town but they were booked out (Anna’s Italian Restaurant came recommended, but we missed out)! Have been back to the region over they years and always find something new to see or do… but also enjoy returning to some favourite spots.

Most attractions we visited met our expectations.
Most attractions we visited met our expectations. Stanthorpe has a wide range of wineries, spectacular national parks, a wonderful Christmas shop ( trees as well) and a visit in winter is extra nice. I
Firstly, the bed was huge and excellent...SO comfortable!!! We had a great view, it was very quiet and plenty of places to throw a line in the dam. Our cabin was well set out, beautiful and exceptionally clean.
We loved the fact that our chosen breakfast ingredients were already in the cabin as well as everything we required during four night stay.
Deb was lovely, obliging and on for a good ol' yarn. She has a great deal of knowledge of Stanthorpe and surrounding areas.
We highly recommend this very relaxing get away.
Honeysuckle Cottages was about 5km out of Stanthorpe and just of the main road in from Warwick. The unit was very clean and the area lovely and quiet. Our host was super helpful with answering our questions regarding various venues etc around the area. The aspect of the unit we stayed in was also lovely, looking out over a pond. A breakfast hamper was supplied which had an abundance of local produce. Overall a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
New condition of motel and the rooms were very clean, comparable to 5 star hotel standard and were equipped with air con/heating and TV in bedrooms and living room. Bed sheets were new and duck down quilts were very warm for winter conditions. Bath amenities provided shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. Nespresso coffee capsules provided with machine and fresh milk. A mini kitchenette and microwave suitable for some basic cooking.
Our Honeysuckle cottage was a great setup and spacious cottage. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed riding around Stanthorpe, great way to see the area and the riding roads are very good (lots minor roads). On arrival we received an enormous and fabulous basket of breakfast foods for our stay – eggs, bacon, jams, bakery, cereal, coffee… wow! Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
Nice place to visit!
This was probably one of the best motels we have stayed in. It was like a luxury hotel room in miniature - the owners have gone to a lot of effort to make sure their guests want for nothing.
They were very welcoming and took the time to give information about the local area.
We only had one day in Stanthorpe so will be returning to explore and will definitely stay here again.
The room we were in had a beautiful view out a large window over the park leading down to a pretty creek. Although the hotel has obviously been there a long time it has nice furniture and is clean. It is right on the edge of the town centre so very easy to walk back through the shopping area or to the really nice beer garden close by.
Cabins had everything we needed and more, we’re well appointed and very clean.
Situated on the waters edge of a picturesque dam the outlook was outstanding.
We had a great couple of nights with all the family and enjoyed the location, the fireplace was well stocked with wood and kept us warm throughout the cold weather.
The location is wonderful, amongst bushland on the edge of Stanthorpe. We saw wallabies, rosellas, native geckoes and other wildlife just outside our cabin.
The cabin itself is cosy and comfortable, with everything you need (except a sink at the kitchenette to wash dishes, but that wasn't an issue for a short stay).
Whitehaven is indeed a haven at which to base yourself for exploring Stanthorpe and surrounds. This is a beautiful house, with every effort taken to provide every amenity you could need or wish for. All the comforts of home, raised to a level of luxury which makes for a perfect holiday getaway.
Set on a farm, superb scenery all around.
only a short drive into town of Stanthorpe.
Close to National Parks.
owner was very friendly & helpful, also provided a charcuterie board which was delish. Clean neat organised unit, good kitchen, provided all we needed . Nice outdoor sitting area.
The location was perfect; close to town and the cabins were nestled in amongst the trees. The sunset view from the top of the property was to die for and well worth the 10 minute walk to the top. A breakfast of cereal and toast was complimentary as well.
Fantastic area, quiet and very comfortable. Loved being in amongst the Stanthorpe countryside. Could hear the birds in the morning and even had a kangaroo visit. Was well setup and we enjoyed the walks around the area.
A cosy cottage for two enjoyable cold winter nights in Stanthorpe. The owners of Whiskey Gully Wines are wonderful hosts ensuring you have everything you need without being intrusive.
On the edge of the Stanthorpe CBD, Wonderful staff, great room, very clean and comfortable, large bathroom with lots of hot water. fantastic place to stay, loved it.
