It is a very walkabout city. Waterfront trail is a lovely place to stroll. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the downtown core. Lovely architecture in the old residential section. A few historical sites to visit, although open only seasonally.
Worth a visit

Kingston is a beautiful City in any season.
Kingston is a beautiful City in any season. The incredibly rich history of Canada and the early years of this great country is obvious. There are many restaurants; they are unique restaurants that are full of atmosphere. The quality of food is some of the best in Canada. There are also the normal chain restaurants located across the city. The waterfront is an absolute treat to walk. The downtown area of this city is safe and full of nightlife.

A tough city to navigate!
A tough city to navigate! Many streets have medians which make it much more complicated to access facilities on the other side!
Amazing shopping options at the Cataraqui Centre! Hard to believe SO many upscale stores are in Kingston. It’s just like being on Toronto, but they’re all in one mall with The Bay! Wow!
Disappointed to discover that O.d Fort Henry had closed a month ago! We had hoped to spend a sunny day visiting there!!

So much to see and do here!
So much to see and do here! We booked the 3 hour 1000 Islands cruise out of Gananoque which was amazing. I’m Kingston, the Hop on hop off trolley tour is a must! Lots of restaurants, beautiful waterfront trail, historic downtown walking tour, Queens university, Fort Henry, Kingston Penitentiary, museums, art galleries. So glad we came and we’ll be back.

Took the 1 hour and 30 minute Kingston Penitentiary tour.
Took the 1 hour and 30 minute Kingston Penitentiary tour. Was very interesting and informative. Also visited the penitentiary museum across the street. Found that to be very interesting as well. There was one museum worker that was a former penitentiary employee that was extremely knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting details!
Spacious room, extremely comfortable bed and pillow, really nice facilities. The staff was lovely and the other guests were very respectful and quiet. The bar and restaurant are also top notch. The location is amazing and was 15 minutes at most walking distance from the places we wanted to see/go. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Kingston!
The location is very good, with the hotel within walking distance of the Visitor Information Centre, Confederation Park, City Hall, tour ferry to the 1000 islands, and the city centre with its shops and restaurants. We appreciated that there was safe parking at the hotel: the charge of $20/day was reasonable considering that parking in Downtown Kingston on a busy day is difficult to find.
This friendly little gem is located in a beautiful leafy quiet residential part of Kingston that was close to St. Lawrence College and Queens University. The Hockey Hall of Fame and sports facilities would have been lovely additions to my stay had it been longer. Public transport and travel by car or taxi made trips downtown and to other neighbourhoods quick and convenient.
My wife liked this hotel because of the staff's relationship with their customers and the comfy bed. The breakfast does not have much to choose from and the location is way off from downtown. If you like a quiet and peaceful environment during your stay in Kingston then this is your best choice.
The hotel is off the 401 - not in Kingston - which is great is you're breaking up a journey and don't need to be in Kingston. It's spacious, comfortable and clean with a gym and a small indoor pool. Staff were very helpful, breakfast was basic and coffee/tea freely available.
Exceptionally clean no frills hotel. Spacious and bright with bar fridge and microwave. No complaints. Would stay again if I’m looking for somewhere to lie my head when working in that part of town. It is not close to downtown though, so know the location.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is quiet with lots of green space. Lake Ontario Park is just across the street and it's easy to catch a bus to go downtown. The room had a large window, good wifi access, and was bright and clean.
We stayed here when visiting Kingston. Not far from downtown. About a 10 minute drive. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were very helpful. Complimentary breakfast was good. We will definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.
Location was good, Easy access to downtown Kingston and also to go to Prince Edward country for day trip to the Sandbanks. The access to the water and the dock was nice for relaxing and reading. The front desk staff was friendly and pleasant.
It's certainly more dorm than hotel, but honestly it was fine - clean, spacious, nice check-in staff, good value, and 15-20 min walk to get downtown. I'd recommend it if you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Kingston.
Very soft and comfortable beds, I slept well. :)
If you are traveling by car, the hotel is close to the beautiful downtown.
There is a fridge in the room which was a big plus for us. :)
The location downtown Kingston is excellent and close to restaurants on Princess Street. Easy to find and accessible. Parking is available at 30$ per day.
