A small town in East Finland that has some good restaurants and local coffee shops but there is not much to do. The town is not touristic and there are not that many places to visit. However, the Botanical gardens are interesting and the Joensuu church is also worth visiting.

The city was big enough to provide all the amenities we needed without being too big. People were friendly. We could access anything within walking distance of the hotel. As cyclists, we were so happy to see so many bikes out even in winter!

Majority of inhabitants in Joensuu goes around by bicycles. I did enjoyed going around by bike. So many nice places to visit. So many good restaurants. It is a good place to visit with a family or group of friends.
Located in the center, very close to the lake and city center.
Common area: The properties were all very clean. There was free coffee and tea available during the day as well as a microwave to heat up your food. Optionally breakfast buffet in the morning for 10€ or 15€, but I didn't use it. Free Laundry room & Biking rental via the reception.
Room: Rather big room. Equipped with water cooker, TV, towels etc. Quiet rooms, not noisy at all.
Green concept through the whole hotel.
I traveled with my children and ISLO Finnhostel Joensuu exceeded all the expectations! "family room" was indeed a small apartment with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom :). In addition, there was a big common room with games, toys, books, big TV and sports facilities. Breakfast was included and we could also reserve a sauna in the evening.
I liked the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Very cozy yet busy with business travelers. The parking building is just across the street so there's a convenient access to your car. I found the room to be comfortable - pretty much standard quality in Finland. I slept well, so extra plus points for that. Breakfast had a variety on offer.
I liked everything. The property is at a great location very close to the center. I was in Joensuu due to a conference and this apartment is situated very close to all the spots where the conference' s events took place. Excellent access to all the stores. Very clean, comfortable, with all what you need. I feel like being at my home.
Hotel is located just the right amount from the road to not hear passing cars. Room was on the first floor facing parking lot and had a large window (lots of light), but it was very quiet outside and we had a great sleep. Probably bookable sauna helped too. Breakfast was nice as in most places in Finland. Staff was very helpful.
Considering this was a last minute booking. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Extremely clean room, hallway and shared facilities. The room was well laid out and bed was comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for travellers visiting Joensuu. Due to its central location and it being easy to find.
A fantastic apartment, clean, comfortable and spacious. Very conveniently situated in Joensuu city center. Getting there and getting the key was made very easy thanks to the nice owner. I would definitely recommend it and use it again myself on my next visit to Joensuu.
Great location, in the very centre of Joensuu, it's easy to go everywhere. The boat (and its small rooms) is charming and the staff were friendly. The bar has a nice pizza menu as well and a very nice atmosphere, especially during sunset.
The area, Quietness, easy access and having wings on two sides of the hotel. and off course the ginger shots in the morning. There was also modernism in the architecture of the hotel which makes it kinda lux.
Location. Service. Price. Cleanliness, sauna. It all is simple and nice. Just the way I like it. I totally recommend this accommodation to everyone who is visiting Joensuu.
A very good hotel. The staff were very helpful with storing my bicycle. The hotel is well situated in the centre of the town and has everything you need nearby.
