Most visitors to Leh prefer to stay longer to tour the valleys nearby. We went during the off-season and the main reason was to get away from the Delhi chaos over a weekend. So Leh served its purpose for us. The main market area has good cafes, restaurants and shops. Shanti Stupa is also present in Leh. Good vibes nothing less. Leh has a large Indian Army presence so we felt very safe and secure :)

Scenic views all around with the most amazing people!
Scenic views all around with the most amazing people! Momos were my favourite local dish that you can find at most restaurants. Love that Leh is more pedestrian friendly and quiet compared to the rest of India. Perfect destination for relaxation.

Its always in the bucket list of most Indians.
Its always in the bucket list of most Indians. Has the highest motorable roads, its a paradise for adventure seekers, highest saltwater lake, cold desert, treacherous roads, borders mof two neighbouring countries. Its a must visit place.

I was expecting a little more of the city.
I was expecting a little more of the city. The market is nice, I had some fine food, but the streets and sidewalks are too disorganized, there are signs "don't walk alone in the dark because of the stray dogs" (?!?!?), it's pretty smoggy and conservation in general is lacking. Came by bicycle through the Manali-Leh road, which was amazing, but the city itself wasn't a highlight of the trip.

Amazing place.
Amazing place. Beautiful city, the cleanest place in India I've ever seen . The old city definitely worth visiting and walking around. Good tibetian food is everywhere and also nice souvenirs, like essence and stones.
Felt like that's one of the best places in India to be if you're looking for a pure energy, clean space and peaceful environment.

Leh. What a beauty.
Leh. What a beauty.
The Road after Manali is good till Jispa and then till Sarchu is also good. Post Sarchu the administration forgot to build roads till Pang. It is sheer hell for 4to5 hours of driving time (Sarchu to Pang).
Khardung-la pass weather in first week of June was not good. The Police check-post at South Pull, had a rude Policeman and they didn't allow our 4x4 Fortuner to cross-over and go to Nubra/Hunder. We missed out on these places and lost money on hotel booking (4 rooms). We were so disturbed due to this setback that we spent 10,000 to buy anti-skid chains for our car, and for another car (8K). All went to waste.
Beauties on this trip - Jispa, next to a river bed. Walkable from Hotel. Amazing. Mighty passes - Chang-la, Taglang-la, Baralacha-la, Zoji-la (we came back via Srinagar), Nakee-la and many more.
We changed plan to return via Srinagar on hearing news of avalanche on Leh-Manali road. This costed us 1 more day. But it was seamless journey. Srinagar finding hotel on spot was big challenge. Big Big challenge. Suggest to book online 1 day in advance if planning to come via Srinagar.
More plains were good. Pangong was a beauty (very cold one though). Coldest place on the Trip was Pangong. We used Warmers (top & bottom) in June at Pangong plus 2-3 more layers. Still after coming from toilet took 20 mins to warm up again at night.
We loved the Marmouths (biggest squirrel just like a teddy bear) on way to Pangong.
We loved the ShantiStupa. The cafe there serves sea buckthorn juice, apricot juice, thukpa. Loved them all.
Stayed in hotels - Chospa, Silk Route. Both were good. Chospa is ultra-premium, Silk route is budget friendly luxury. At Pangong stayed at Pangong Delight Cottages.
The amazing views from the terrace while having breakfast, exceptionally big and clean washrooms, happening lobby space with games and amphitheatre, and quiet office space.
Yuvraj, with an amazing playlist and cheerful attitude keeps the energy high in the lobby.
The staff treated us like family. Yogesh, a well informed and budding standup comedian gave us a mind blowing tour of the nearby areas. Being an explorer himself, he is well informed of all the places to visit around Leh.
Overall, a memorable experience for life ✌️
Stayed here at this fantastic spot in a fabulous part of India, couldn't rate Ladakh itself highly enough either. the beautiful helpful family of Dolmus and Del etc are such a calming influence. You can order meals here that are homemade, they were some of the best food we found in Leh, ..amazing.
The house is a 15 to 20 minute walk into town, Can take the shortcut and follow the stream down, we miss those walks.. Shanti Stupa is nearby and great for sunsets..
I really couldn't recommend Streamlet enough
SUPERB RESORT WITH AWESOME VIEWS
Was with my family at this place. Must say, a great place with awesome views. The resort provided a serene backdrop for quality family time. The room was very comfortable. Food was the delicious, service was excellent, staff was very friendly and we felt like we are staying in our home. Unlike other hotels I saw in Leh, this place had huge space to unwind. Overall an excellent experience, highly recommended to people travelling to this Paradise on earth.
The hotel staff and owner are all very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The restaurant provided us with very good food every day. In my opinion, India is a challenging place to travel but our stay in Ladakh was 100% hassle free and enjoyable due to the hospitality and comfort found at the hotel. The owner provided us with useful information related to daily activities and a very nice driver and taxi for transport.
Welcome to Hotel Skitsal, where the essence of Stok and Leh intertwines to create an extraordinary experience. Indulge in the cozy heated rooms, perfectly tailored to your comfort. Delight in the delicious and diverse culinary offerings that leave your taste buds craving for more. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of remarkable. Prepare to fall in love and yearn to return.
Loved the place.
The location is amazing, super convenient. The surroundings are beautiful. It felt like home. Since the moment I stepped in, Jimi was really helpful and welcoming. The food that Baskit makes is mouthwatering 😋 didn't miss home food at all.
Every minute I spent in the room was so worth it. Thank you Puma House for making my first Ladakh trip so great! Can't wait to be back!!
Dolma's family are wonderfully kind and caring. Despite the cold outside, inside the home it felt so warm and comfortable. Ladakhi winter turned out to be so pleasant owing to the love and care from Dolma and everyone in her wonderful family. I learnt a lot from all family members - Dolma, Tashi, Achuk, Dolker and Angmo, in only a few days, and honestly can't wait to be back.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming and really made me feel like I was at home. Anu's bright and positive energy really brings the property to life!! The breakfast was really tasty. Every bedroom has a little private balcony area and the garden was beautiful. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. I would not stay anywhere but here if I visit Ladakh again.
It was so beautifully situated on the Indus River. All the staff - especially Jigmet - were so welcoming and bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. Jigmet even took us on a walk to a camel sanctuary, pointing out particular aspects of the landscape and Ladakhi architecture. The food is delicious and you are served so much of it.
The ambience, the quiet. The location. The staff, special mention to the owner, Mr. Dorji. Very cordial, accommodated us perfectly.
He made special Mulberry Jam for us & even gave us a full jar to bring back. (My mom was thrilled).
Everyday breakfast, all other meals, it was all better than the clichè hotels we go for most times.😀
Our stay at gostops Leh was amazing. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and they also guided us on how to travel inside Ladakh along with helping us explore offbeat locations. The food was mashallah and the view from the hostel was delightful. Special thanks to Abhimanyu and Puneet for making our stay lovely and memorable.
The best descision I have made in my trip to leh after searching alot of stays. Gostops is one of its kind place. Dorms are very comfortable and well maintained. You get to meet lot of people and cafeteria place is vibrant to spend your time with cup of tea and snacks.
The feeling in being Ladakh, this property located beside a small farm field(like a kitchen garden). you can see the Snowy mountains in each direction. there was pin drop silence. That silence was such deep that you can hear your own heart beat.
Comfortable and beautiful rooms in Ladakhi style and very clean!
Staff was very friendly, although they did not speak too much of English.
Lunch and supper were served with fresh vegetables from the garden and very tasty and healthy!
It was a nice experience for my family to stay in Chospa Hotel in Leh. The staffs were very kind to us and hospitality was also very good.
Special thanks to the manager: Ms Tenzin Nyima
Very helpful and friendly stuff, garden where you can relax and enjoy the views, clean rooms. The hotel helps to arrange motorbike rental or organize trips through Ladakh.
