We liked the size of the room and the view from the terace.

We liked the size of the room and the view from the terace. There was a refresment waiting for us (coffe, juice, water, small cake). Room was clean, nice smell. But we spent there a night in January and the heating was not working. I wanted to reheat by warm shower, but there was not enought hot water to even wash my hair. I was frozen and catch a cold over the night. The bed was very noisy with each small move. The window was oposite to a building, very dark inside. All I will remember is dark and cold room. Shell I add how long we were looking for a place to park the car in those tiny streets?

We spent two nights here in winter, which was enough. The temples took a full day, give them time. Lots to see in the old town with plenty exercise climbing all the steps. Lots of great bars and restaurants.

We visited here because we wanted to see the Valley of Temples. We ended up adding a day to our visit to explore the city and relax at Villa Athena Resort, which is really near the archelogical site. Agrigento has many great restaurants and patisseries to help you increase your waistline. Many shops to buy nice clothes and jewelry on the main street Via Atena. Also just a few minute drive to the beach, which offers lots of parking and restaurants.

We loved the old town with narrow streets and many intimate piazza’s. We found it a bit difficult accessing and using public transport so we walked everywhere. Everything of archeological interest was quite close, the churches were beautiful but a little more subdued than most. The food was delicious, our air bnb host was excellent. It wasn’t difficult to park the car free as well.

We visited Agrigento to see the valley of the Temples and we were not disappointed. We visiting in our own car and so concerned about parking. Parking at the valley was easy with lots of room and a machine which accepted cash and cards to pay for the parking, which was not expensive. Pay the 6 Euros to get a hand held guide in your own language, it tells you everything about each temple and the ancient Greek city (Akragas). You can see the whole site in a day.

Valley of the Temples is obviously THE big drawcard, but after that I would also do the tour of the almost 1,000 year old Cattedrale di San Gerlando, walk up with tower for great views back over Valley of the Temples and then onto the close by Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Greci (included with Cattedrale price) to look into the crypts below through the glass floor of the church. So much history in the one location!

Great stay in Agrigento! The host is very helpful and makes everything for the guests ! He gave us a lot of gifts as a compliment for our stay! There are a lot of things to eat and drink in the room and it is not necessary to think about breakfast! The rooms are extremely new and are very very clean there ! We like the location so much, because it is so close to the center! There is a few minutes walk away ! We go there every day and enjoy Sicilian dishes! If you are looking at Agrigento that's your place! One of the best stays in Sicily.

The room was very spacious and bright. The bed was comfy and the bathroom clean. It’s near the Duomo, and to the city’s main streets, but be aware that everything and everywhere in Agrigento is reachable mostly by stairs and pedestrian only narrow streets. This is not a fault of the hotel, just a heads up so you know where you are staying. We loved our time here. The owner was very helpful giving us information about what to do, directions to where park the car.

La pagliera was the best and most memorable place we stayed while in Sicily. Ciccio and Susi have transformed a barn into a gorgeous, welcoming, intimate, comfortable B&B. Each special architectural detail and furnishing has an interesting story. Our host, Ciccio, was very personable and entertaining. He exudes love for Susi, this property and Sicily. The breakfast food was abundant, unique and delicious. La pagliera is truly special.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful, outstanding quality and feels extremely luxurious. This was by far the best hotel experience we had out of 6 hotels in Sicily. The free wine and olive oil in the room was a nice touch. Super comfy beds. Would highly recommend. Super convenient as we were able to park outside the door! An easy drive to the Valle dei Tempi.

Carlo, the host, is a very friendly person and helped us spend a wonderful stay at Agrigento. He is always available to communicate over WhatsApp for any question or to bring the nice breakfast to the room in the morning. Our room was spacious like a flat, quite clean and modern. Its location is very advantageous between the city and the sea. Definitely a top hotel to reserve, highly recommended!

We had a booking in Agrigento but did not feel safe in the township so made a last minute booking for Hotel Villa Athena, a small luxury hotel set within an olive Grove in the valley of the temples. It was amazing from start to finish, customer focused, comfortable, amazing food and wine, and a front row view of the valley of the temples. I cannot recommend highly enough.

The staff was really nice. Lorenzo at the front desk was extremely helpful. The pool was incredible. Nice views of valley of the temples and the ocean from our balcony. This Hotel was perfectly located in Agrigento. A 5 minute drive (20 minute walk) to Valley of the temples. 20 minute drive to some nice beaches towards The Turkish Steps. And they are pet friendly!

Very new, with very nice, modern, comfortable rooms. The hosts were super nice and provided a very nice breakfast with great information about the surrounding areas. One of the nicest places we stayed while in Sicily. Free parking was available just outside the front of the accommodation, did not have any problem finding available space.

Everything, just an awesome little boutique hotel! Recently built, modernly apportioned, comfortable, all the amenities you could ask for but most importantly family owned and managed. Salvatore and his wife were phenomenal hosts, full of enthusiasm for their little hotel and Sicily as a whole. You ll enjoy your stay!

My favorite B&B during our trip in Sicily. Fantastic host who spoke English very well. Very attentative! Gave us detailed information about where to go in Agrigento in the evening we were there. Breakfast was more than we could eat. And of course the room was spacious, clean, modern and just full of atmosphere.
