The staff at the facility - Duncan, Ida and Lucy in particular - were exceptionally helpful for my wife, who had experienced a pulled muscle that limited her activity.
The variety of animals was great. The elephants were amazing--the highlight of the trip. Elephants is what you go to Amboseli to see, really! Due to the size of the park, the restriction against off-roading, and the poor conditions of some roads after the rains, visitors should go into the trip with the expectation to see big cats--finding them is really a matter of luck. But the other animals make up for this.

Coming from Maasai Mara, game drives were not as intense and rich, mainly due to different rules. For example off-roading isn't allowed, so if you see a lion further away, that will be the only way to enjoy it, because you can't approach it. Overall it is also less lush and green than Mara, but it is unique in it's own way. What makes it beautiful is the view of Kilimanjaro, swamps full of birds and bathing elephants. Dust-friendly clothes and a scarf to cover the face are highly recommended as it was extremely dusty at times.

Amboseli is the perfect place to see lots of elephants!
Amboseli is the perfect place to see lots of elephants! There’s a marsh / swamp in the park and many elephant herds are taking baths and enjoying the water. Elephants are roaming around freely too so will see them often. There are hippos in the marsh / swamp too. Besides elephants, I saw giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeest and Cape Buffalo. Lions are in the park too, but wasn’t able to see them during my visit. The sky and sun through the clouds is absolutely stunning too!

The resort is a fantastic place to start a safari.
The resort is a fantastic place to start a safari. It is about half a kilometer from the entrance to the National Park. Nature is breathtaking. There is even a viewpoint where you can see the wider area. The wild animals have the opportunity to come into the resort and especially at night the animals walk around your tent. Don't worry, they're more scared of you. The road to the resort, you have to take that into account. This was still a dirt road for us. We did the transfer with a normal car. A 4x4 drive would have been better. This road (C103) is being paved with asphalt.
The WiFi is poor. They should foresee that this can be reached all over the resort.
The food was ok. I just missed some slices of cheese and some jam at breakfast.
A stay of 3 to 4 days is certainly sufficient here. We did a day safari. This means: we left at 06h00 am (the resort provides a breakfast box with coffee) until 01h00pm. Then we came back to the resort for lunch. And at 03h00pm we left again until 06h00pm, with the apotheosis... we saw Simba, the king of all animals... the lion.
Don't forget to visit the local Masaai village. You will receive an explanation of how the Maasai live and you can take a look at one of their huts.

This was our first trip to Amboseli.
This was our first trip to Amboseli. I loved the views of Mount Kilimanjaro when it peeped through the clouds. We saw so many elephant ❤️
A highlight for us was walking up to the lookout point to enjoy our picnic breakfast. From up there we enjoyed views of elephants drinking at the lake, Mount Kili and lots of bird life around us. I loved all the flamingos.
Easy to self drive but always nice to relax with a guide.
