Cambodia has successfully dusted itself off from the ravages of war with its colourful capital of Phnom Penh rising from the ashes and sparkling once more. This fascinating city, on the banks of the Mekong River, features exotic markets, cultural jewels and is home to some of the friendliest people on earth.
A visit to the National Museum captures a slice of Cambodia’s ancient Khmer history and art. A different and more recent history suffocates and overwhelms visitors to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the former prison of the Khmer Rouge, and The Killing Fields are a short drive from the capital.
The Royal Palace is a striking centrepiece in the centre of Phnom Penh, and is home to the Emerald Buddha and Silver Pagoda. Not far away is the Cambodian Independence Monument that celebrates Cambodia’s sovereignty.
You can satisfy your hunger pains with delicious French-Indochina-inspired meals at various street stalls or classy restaurants. The riverside area has the Art Deco Central Market for a great bargain and there are a variety of bars, especially near Sisowath Quay.
Take time to walk around the French colonial streets with its mix of slow-moving monks and speedy motorbikes. Booking.com has many hotels located in Daun Penh and Chamkar Mon districts, amongst others.

Phnom Penh is a great city, lovely temples, royal palace and national museum are all a must see,Lots of great eateries around either more formal restaurants or street food. The city is very easy to get around by tuk-tuk, just download one of the apps like grab to book.
A must see is S-21 prison and the killing fields genocide memorial on the outskirts, very sombre and shocking places to visit, but everyone should know want went on under Pol Pot.

If you are visiting Cambodia you can definitely skip Phnom Penh. As with many international flights we did not have great connections to get to Koh Rong Samleom or Siem Reap. Had a long layover here. Not much to see unless you are interested in visiting the Genocide Museum.

The AEON malls were good with plenty of choices to have a meal.
Very easy and cheap to get around in the local Tuktuks.

Phnom Penh has a rich cultural city, vibrant nightlife, we enjoyed every minute of our time there, from the somber reminders of the past to the tranquility of a sunset cruise on the Mekong. The city tour by Tuk Tuk we did at night, there was less traffic , quieter streets, more lights and it felt you could see more , totally worth the money and time.

The pool area and the food were fabulous. The welcome staff and refreshments were great. The decor was very luxurious and also very Angkor. I loved it. My room was very spacious and had many amenities including fresh fruits. The hotel location was probably the best location for a hotel in Phnom Penh. I use to live in Phnom Penh so I was within walking distance to all my favorite restaurants as well as the Royal Palace, National Art Museum and Riverside. Sadly the Royal Palace was closed due to Covid restrictions.
The place is beautiful. You really wouldn’t know you are in the middle of Phnom Penh. It’s a really lovely place I couldn’t rate the aesthetics any higher for a hotel in the middle of the city. The staff are friendly and professional I also had a complaint to the reception regarding my room rate which the manager fixed Fairly and immediately.
Even if you live in Pp already and you just fancy a break for a short while it’s extremely peaceful and tranquil. Highly recommended.
Thankyou for having us.
This was great value for money. It was the most "luxurious" place I stayed in 3 weeks in Cambodia.
The bed was super comfortable. It was the only "cable TV" that actually worked, showing an English speaking channel or 2! The bathroom was very clean (as was the whole room) and the best bathroom of all the places I stayed.
It was in a good location, surrounded by many great restaurants and I walked to riverside from here in 30 minutes.
Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Everything is brand new! Lovely spacious unit, great view from the balcony. Quiet building. View from rooftop infinity pool is awe inspiring. Full size fridge and washing machine in unit. AC in living room and bedroom. Large smart TV. Staff is best part of this place! They helped us with the many things we required like getting documents and finding basics like detergent. This is the place to stay in Phnom Penh, especially if you're doing a long stay.
Our room was big and clean, on the 10th floor, had a great-working air conditioning and a beautiful bathroom. We stayed in the HM Grand-suite due to a good off-season offer, but it would not be called a suite in a western hotel, more like a superior/deluxe room.
The rooftop bar had good cocktails and a great view over the city.
Nice with swimming pool (incl bar) and gym.
Good location in walking distance from most of the city centre.
We had stayed at the Pavilion on a previous trip & loved it so much we returned specifically to Phnom Penh to stay here again. We were not disappointed. We love the grounds including both the Lush & Sun Pools. The room was perfect, the staff great, and the restaurant prepared delicious food. We’ll be returning in a few more weeks to enjoy this little jewel. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. We find it Perfect!
Stylish, modern and spacious room with a comfortable bed and amazing view of the city and the river. Great location near to Phnom Penh's busiest party street Bassac Lane, Independence Monument and Riverside. One of the best hotel included breakfasts I've ever had, with a very diverse and generous menu with Asian and Western choices. Helpful and welcoming staff who made our stay even the more pleasant. Thank you!
The staff at the hotel were amazing (special mention to the girls at the restaurant, and the spa, the massage was wonderful), and the room was big, with comfy beds. Breakfast was very tasty, and with a handful of options. Location was very nice, close to Royal Palace, and most of the touristic spots. The view from our terrace was breathtaking. Very recommended hotel to stay in Phnom Penh.
I had a pleasant stay at Poulo Wai Hotel. All staff is very friendly and helpful beyond my expectation. Moreover, this hotel is located in the city centre and within walking distant to shopping centre, especially closed to tourist destinations for enjoying nightlife. I would be definitely stayed this again for next trip to Cambodia!!!
This hotel is conveniently located near the city center which is close to many attractions. The hotel staff is very friendly and nice. The hotel provides a decent breakfast with a combination of Cambodian and Western breakfast. I would stay here again.
We really liked the location, the pool and sky bar with an awesome view of the city. This was also the only hotel in Vietnam and Cambodia that considered the impact of plastic bottles on the environment by providing a refill option for filtered water.
Good city hotel in Phnom Penh. The breakfast very good, the room was clean room very clean and well-equipped. There is a big gym and a ping-pong table. The pool was good too. The location is central you can reach everything within walking distance.
Excellent! A breath of fresh air finally! Best hotel after 10 Cambodian 8 and 50 Asian hotels over 3 years ....Especially staff who are the most pleasant , helpful and comforting in Asia by far
Received a lovely reassuring welcome email
Depressing
A shabby, dark & dingy place. Only good things - location , WiFi works ok
Most hotels on the riverside are similarly nasty. Cambodia is nice but downtown PP is now a dump. Avoid
It’s such a best stay in a hotel located in Phnom Penh city center, close to everything. The hotel offer a best price with comfortable stay. Nice room and clean, I recommended.
simply the best hotel I’ve been to in Cambodia. It’s nice, quiet, perfect to chill or work remotely, while being nearby the national museum and other places in the city center
