The hotel was modern, clean, quiet, good shower, amenities and beds, staff was fine. We had a view of the mountain behind, maybe because we had asked for quiet.

Decent budget hotel close to the airport and Tanjung Aru beach. Not much to do around the area but I was staying as I had an early flight to catch. People at reception were fantastic and welcoming with the exception of one young man working there who was quite dismissive. Overall, an ok place to stay for the price if you need to be in that area. CBD is only a 5-10 minute Grab away. Views from the pool are great.

Location is fantastic. Within walking distant to malls, restaurants and banks.
Room: sadly not a 3 star definitely. Motel 8 is much better. Furniture are back in 70s or 80s. Bathroom is quite nasty with black moldy on tiles grout. Housekeepers are not trained to clean and refresh bed especially when they knew that you are staying longer. They just left towels and bath stuff on table.
Customers are mostly locals because of the cheap cost to stay. And tour operators use this hotel because of the value and location.
Not worth trying in house breakfast. There are plenty restaurants nearby and in malls.

The early morning and evening view from my 11th floor room over the rather boring skyline of KK and glimpse of the sea. Staff at reception were very helpful. There was a delightful miniature cemetery packed with colourful graves and shrines covering 3 or 4 hillsides adjacent to the highway out of KK to the Ibis Styles Inanam.

The little city or small town is not special at all, there is no charm to it really and I would not visit it for the town itself. However, it is a town where the airport is so you have to go through it. It is very convenient to access the Jesselton pier to take the boats to the island and to go to the markets, which are not really that special. They are OK. I have seen many great markets throughout Asia.

we stayed in 4 different hotels for 3-4 nights.
we stayed in 4 different hotels for 3-4 nights. All good in different ways.
Sea food was super and other meals good,(some too spicy for us but we learnt to ask for "not too spicy")
Taxi transport was cheap and easy. Ferry boat transfers were more difficult, Ask Island Hotels for their ferry times BEFORE you book return flights as free ferries only go at selective times. We had to book a private ferry so we could get to the airport for a 13.00 flight. (cost £48)
Loved the area but we were on the wrong coast for easy access to oranotang monkeys . Flights across were too expensive for us to make the trip!

Kota Kinabalu is a fabulous place to visit for the amazing food, from budget level to fine dining but especially the local and other Asian cuisine. The Filipino Market was exceptional and we left will full cases. Transport around the centre is easy by walking or Grab. The Island trips looked superb but not at our age unfortunately considering the very hot afternoons. Next year we'll go to Mount Kinabalu area but too far on a short visit. The people were invariably charming.

I saw the inside and outside of KK International airport 5 times, and travelled to and from Ibis Styles Inanam hotel by taxi twice but did not visit any "attractions" in KK. The panoramic view westward over KK skyline from my 1-night stays in 10th and 11th floor rooms was unremarkable.
The only place of interest I noted was beside the highway heading eastwards out of town to the hotel: a cemetery covering 3 or 4 low hills densely packed with multicoloured graves and shrines: a miniature city of departed souls.

Visit to kundasang , Kita Kinabalu park , the view was excellent , majestic view of the mountain , fresh air , the road to the kk.mountain is very good and I drive there with my family .the people there were friendly and the homestay was cheap and near the town , overall it's was excellent trip , me and family will definitely come again
Room is very spacious, clean, cozy, and has a mini-balcony. Bathroom is good but no bathtub. Depending on the room, your room door might be using a physical key, or it might use a keycode. I suggest the staff should replace all doors with keycode locks for better security. Hotel is strategically located near the airport, and on the ground floor contains plenty of convenience stores, mamaks, tea shops, etc. It also has free parking as well
The hotel is very near to restaurants, mall, jesseltonport, filipino market and handicraft market. I love the staffs especially to Wilson who really helped me choosing my tours. I love Emy and Jen as well, they are very friendly. The owner of the hotel arranged a tour for me in Kundasang and made sure I was safe. I will really recommend this hotel especially for a solo traveler like me.
Near by philipino Market that is just opposite the hotel. Staff are all very friendly. Breakfast spread has many different viaraty. Amazing view for sea view during the sunset. Overall, We enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien with 8 adults and 3 toddlers. Thank you to all the staff who provided the great hospitality during our stay. We will certainly come back here for another vacation.
We had a 2 bedroom family suite with a lounge area, balcony & 2 bathrooms which was ideal. We had the best view of the ocean & the Jesselton Pier where you can watch the ferry's coming & going to the islands. The pool on the roof was fantastic, the gym good & the breakfast was amazing. This hotel is on the edge of town but you can walk to alot of restaurants within 1km.
Walking distance to shopping malls and Jesselton ferry terminal . The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, water dispenser( very hard to get with other home-stays) and microwave . Bedding linen so comfy and overall presentation like a hotel. 2 queen bed , 2 rooms .Swimming pool at level 4 with stunning view .
The hotel is located right on the waterfront, close to the main Jesselton Jetty, Gaya Street and other key facilities. We got offered an upgrade to a sea view room. The rooms look very nice and are very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet offers an amazing choice.
Matata Hotel is new hotel in Kota Kinabalu.
This located in city center of KK. You can reach Gaya Street, Suria Sabah and also Jesselton by walk. There are some coffe shop, restaurant, drugstore and bank near the hotel. The last is 7 eleven is in the downstairs
A typical 5 star hotel with pretty much nothing to complain about. Excellent service and facilities all around. Plus point is they have a booth to cater hotel guests for day trips to Pulau Sapi, Pulau Manukan & Pulau Mamutik.
There’s no doubt that this hotel has one of the best positions at the center of KK island, and it’s quite close to the airport. Hotel is close to the Jesselton Position where you can book your hopping island trip.
The hotel was pleasant. The staff were friendly! 5 stars!
However the shower's and the sink's heater was not working. Already informed the receptionist, and they repaired it very quickly. Thanks!
Hotel look very clean and comfy location is really good at the City center... Only 5 to 20 minutes walk to the jesselton jetty, Gaya street, Filipino market, and many shipping mall near by
