    Great city, tastiest local foods, nice and welcoming people.

    Great city, tastiest local foods, nice and welcoming people. Place to return. City looks wonderful at night. The greatest time to travel there is in spring or autumn. Gorgeous sights. A week is little to short time in Khujand. 😊

    The Historical Museum of Sughd Region shouldn't be missed,...

    The Historical Museum of Sughd Region shouldn't be missed, mainly because of the fabulous mosaics downstairs depicting various stages of Alexander the Great's life! Other mosaics at Somoni Park on the steps up to the statue of Somoni are also worthwhile seeing as they give an overview of the country's history. Of course, the Panjshanbe Bazaar with its amazing display of products is a great place to wander around with the locals and shop for supplies (not souvenirs).

    This is the second biggest city in Tajikistan.

    This is the second biggest city in Tajikistan. It is very comfortable for visiting, very inexpensive taxi and food, a big local market, plenty of stores on the main streets. The people are very special here - very friendly and hospitable, they sometimes do not take tips and tend to advise you, so you do not spend extra money. The national food is good, lots of vegetables, try their GREEN SALAD - very nice.
