nice place, nice people, very friendly athmosphere.
nice place, nice people, very friendly athmosphere. The mausoleums, madrassas and musea (don't forget the museum at the mediaval city ruins) are truly remarkable. Don't forget to visit the university quarter (and the Theatre of historical costume «El merosi» and it's coffee bar).
A continuous struggle and ripping off by taxi drivers, so be informed of what you are supposed to pay. Perfect point to move on by train to Bukhara. Samarkand is a grand destination.

Izumrud Palace is the kind of small, family run enterprise that deserves our support. Room was clean and spotless, newly refurbished and everything was in great working order. Bed was very comfortable. AC/Heater worked really well. Smart TV. Breakfast was simple yet complete—with a great supply of varying Uzbekistan pastries. Bathroom even had a heated floor. Balcony had a nice view to the street—but was able to keep away noise because its double paned.
It’s a stone throw away from the Registan—a quick 5 minute cab ride away. Cabs can be easily hailed with the Yandex app—no need to haggle a price and generally fares were priced well. Airport is about 20minutes away and the train station is 15.

Beautiful and clean city, rich in history, delicious food, super affordable, friendly and nice people despite the language barrier.
Main issue was toilet, there are not enough toilets around and not all restaurants have toilets.
Public toilets cost 2000-3000 som and it is dirty.
Better book taxi thru yandex app rather than hailing a cab as drivers charge more.

Amazing city with great vibes.
Amazing city with great vibes.
I like it more than Tashkent, and I believe it worth visiting again. One of the best stays is in Continental Hotel Samarkand, a very nice hotel with great location, also a restaurant called Oasiz, it’s more international cuisines but very tasty and clean.
It was so cold at night, and locals advised ti visit the city between February and may. Also I was fully dependent on Yandex in finding rides with a good rates, and also for food delivery.

One of the underrated and lesser known travel destination,...
One of the underrated and lesser known travel destination, which should be in everyone's checklist. Samarkand and Bukhara oozes history and is full of magnificent mosques, madrassas and mausoleums. Both the cities are easy to walk around and the people are very helpful (and will take effort to answer and guide you, even though they do not speak fluent English). Though Uzbekistan is a major meat-eating country, I did not find it difficult to get good vegetarian food. Do try the Samsa (either the Pumpkin / Potato ones) and the Pulav (again you can get the vegetarian version).
Places one should not miss out
Samarkand - Registan Square, Gur-e-Amir, Bibi Khanum mosque and Shah-i-zinda
Bukhara - Po-i-Kalon ensemble, Bukhara Ark / Fort, Lyabi Hauz ensemble, Chor Minor & Boloi Hauz Mosque
Ensure you also re-visit Registan Square (in Samarkand) and Kalon Minaret (in Bukhara) in the night under lights.
This was an amazing property! My favorite in my travels of Uzbekistan. The property is a historic piece of architecture that left me in utter awe and fascination. The courtyard and the room where you have breakfast are so ornately designed just breathtaking. Great location, delicious breakfast and the staff, not just warm and accommodating, but knowledgeable in explaining the historic property. Highly recommend. Try to get room # 8 if you can it is especially unique.
- Motorbikes could be safely parked in the courtyard, great!
- very quiet
- Great location, 10 mins walk to Bazaar and Registan
- very good breakfast, prepared with love
- Room was made every day, otherwise I have not experienced in Uzbekistan
- very friendly landlady and staff
- Card payment possible (additional fees apply!)
- good WiFi
- Seating possibility in the room with 2 chairs and a small table
- Seating in the small courtyard
- This is more like a guest house rather than a hotel. A family basically runs this place and they are very welcoming and nice hosts. They usually sit in the shop next to the hotel.
- The best thing about this place is the location. It is in the heart of the main tourist area.
- The room has an AC which for me was very useful as it was quite hot in Samarkand.
- Some nice restaurants right very close to the hotel.
Hotel is very new, all facilities are very much high quality. Bed and pillows were just perfect for our best sleep during our trip. The breakfast was outstanding. Massage is excellent. The whole area is very green and quiet. It’s not in central but you can get taxi easily and it doesn’t cost you much money at all. All the staffs were very attentive and helpful. Definitely one of the best hotel in whole Uzbekistan.
The room was amazing, everything looks super-new and with good materials, it's just gorgeous.
Everything is very spaceous and clean, it feels really comfortable, it was the best hotel we stayed in Uzbekistan.
The staff from Negen Group was great and friendly, they speak fluent english which was very helpful for us.
They also have a spa with pool and sauna and the breakfast at the rooftop is also very nice.
It was the best stay in Uzbekistan. The hotel located in old jewish district and it's so beautiful and interesting to walk. The watchman was the best person i've met during the trip. Really greatful to him I took his contact but lost it so if u can give me them please text. And breakfast was amazing too
Just enjoyed my stay here. Would stay again
Staying in this hotel is amazing because of the staffs. The young receptionist ,Mangoverde and Mansour was very helpful and super kind. They offer help if you need it. They make sure that we are comfortable and needs are met. What a nice play and ambiance. Breakfast was fine too. Once we visit Uzbekistan we will surely stay in this hotel again.
Nice hotel with excellent location (5 mn to registan square) . Staff were friendly and helpfull. The owner was really nice and answer all my questions and give me the name of good restaurants and even drive me with his car to samarkand eternal city for free. Thank you and see you soon inchallah
Most wonderful oasis of calm, beauty and marvellous food in Samarkand. We’d probably go as far as to say this was one of the highlights of our whole trip - and those dinners some of the best food in Uzbekistan! Aziza and her team are just the best, we can’t recommend this place highly enough
This small hotel is within short walking distance from Amir Temur Mausoleum. The family run the place has big rooms with excellent and 100% working facilities. The staff was super helpful and the breakfast was good. Next time in Samarkand, this will be my first choice.
It's the best, the cleanest and looking european room we had in Uzbekistan by now. The hotel is surranded by good local and non local restaurants. The staff spoke in English and was very helpful. It's very good choose if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay.
Breakfast and dinner were by far the best meals we had while we were in Uzbekistan, even better than expensive restaurants we went to. The courtyard and the rooms were beautiful, the staff was helpful and kind, and the location was perfect.
Good location in the Russian part of Samarkand. Not far from city center and with a pool!
The bed was very comfortable compared to the rest of our stay in Uzbekistan. It was very enjoyable.
The host was very nice with us. I do recommend.
The family - a grand mother Maya and one of her grand sons - Shahram very kind. She offered me few vegetarian meals. Guests can use the kitchen - for me essencial on traveling, specially in Uzbekistan full of kebabs.
This hotel is truly amazing. It is right in a heart of old Samarkand. It has a view on Bibihanum, authenticity, details in design and decorations. All and all, amazing! Also, the breakfast is outstanding.
Hotel Dilnura is a family business. The hosts were so nice, they prepared the best breakfast we had in Uzbekistan. We felt like home and I am looking forward to coming back. Warm regards!
We returned on our trip through Uzbekistan to the Turon hotel and were delighted again. Same great service. We thank all the staff for the pleasant stay, especially Azamat.
Family run hotel and the owner is Great! So friendly and welcoming and will help as much as humanly possible. The Best hospitality we experienced in all of Uzbekistan.
Very pleasant staff and even when light was switched in all region (it sometimes happen in Uzbekistan) they did everything, wifi, light and etc for I feel comfortable.
