This was our first time in Auckland and just wanted to get to know the city a little better. The Sky Tower is a must see and will give you a great sense of where everything is. We enjoyed some cocktails and food at the restaurant late in the afternoon and watched the sun go down. I was quite surprised at the number of historical and cultural activities available and wish we could have spent more time. I lived in Auckland previously for about 10 years. So I know the city well. Traffic in this city is terrible, so you might want to avoid leaving your accommodation early in the morning or driving around from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays. It is a very convenient place for shopping, but it is not safe in some parts. t is best to avoid staying in the western and southern parts of Auckland if possible.

Auckland has some great location on the harbour and the ferry service was very convenient. I would recommend a day trip to Davenport and to Hobbiton . There are many good restaurants Ahi Ebusi Origine Hello Beasty Oyster and Chop and Soul.

We were in Auckland for our daughter's Master's Graduation...
We were in Auckland for our daughter's Master's Graduation Ceremony so didn't really explore Auckland too much on this visit. However the harbour area is pleasant for a walk and the new Commercial Bay Shopping Centre is of a very high standard and looks really impressive.There are many eateries in there, in addition to many high end shops.

With the city centre only a 10 minutes drive away this a lovely place to stay if you visit Auckland.

Most of the hotels were either fully booked or changed their pricing to outrageously high. Luckily the front desk staff was super helpful and managed to extend our stay for one more night due to a last minute cancellation by other clients. The room was spacious, clean and well-designed. front desk was 24 hours which was very helpful. it’s about a 10-15 min walk to the city centre with lots of dining options.

The full English breakfast is well done. The rooms are tidy and well looked after. They leave messages if they cant tidy for instance the bed of some reason. Good!
