Location and surrounding were breathtaking. We stayed at top floor and enjoyed the view from our rooms. If you have time, walk on the grounds for fresh air and visit the garden on the slopes.

A good place for visiting the Horton Plains National Park-...
A good place for visiting the Horton Plains National Park- negociate locally for the 40 min drive in a Tuk Tuk ( 9000 lks is about right). It has a nice lake to walk around. The Rough Guide though old is still very useful. The centre is small and compact with good facilities .. The exception is the 'Tourist Office' close to the bus station.. It is close to useless - dont look for impartial advice as the owner has his own Tuk Tuk!. Victora Park is worth a stroll.

Quaint little town in the hills.
Quaint little town in the hills. So, cooler climate and perfect spot to take a break from the sweltering heat in Colombo. La Grande Villa is just a 10 minute walk from town and a 5 bedroom boutique hotel, which makes it the ideal place for a quiet, restful stop before Ella.

Nuwara Eliya is a sleepy town nestled within acres of tea...
Nuwara Eliya is a sleepy town nestled within acres of tea estates , which has maintained a lot of its colonial buildings that it almost looks like a different country altogether. Hence the name Little England.
It is best suited for an Individual or family that is looking to just relax at one property with great views , dabble in luxury (there are a few options) , do a little bit of sightseeing (all nature related) and experience the architecture of the town itself. It’s non-touristy.. None of the places we visited were crowded or dirty. The town sleeps by 10pm.

we spent 2 days in the off season (mid feb 2024) which was perfect, no overcrowding, mad traffic and great weather. We stayed 1 night in a studio apartment and 1 night at a small guest house both were perfectly maintained and very nice accommodations well worth the price.
check the weather and go in the off season to enjoy and relax in NE as it should be done!
The house was so nicely decorated! I felt in a fairytale! The rooms are really big and cosy and have all facilities. In nuwara eliya it can get cold sometimes but the shower has hot water and its very amazing. The hotel owner Heidi is such a lovely and friendly woman who really takes care of you! We had dinner at the hotel and it was honestly one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka so far. The same could be said for the breakfast! We also went one day to horton plains very early and heidi made us a take away breakfast!
I stayed in the dorm bed. As a solo backpacker, staying here was a wonderful escape from the usual busy hostel life. We were treated just as lovely as the hotel guests, enjoyed the views and the breakfast. Everyone was really friendly and really helped us out with our activities. It’s obviously not central in the town but I didn’t mind the 30 min walk down. I would recommend highly if you want something more quiet for once, which for me Nuwara Eliya was the perfect opportunity anyway! The value for money was amazing.
Such a lovely place to stay, we were glad to be slightly away from the centre of town. Kushan was a brilliant host, we could have come with no plans at all and he would have ensured we had lots to do to make the most of our time in Nuwara Eliya and onwards! Pedro Tea Estate is a short walk through the tea plantation from the cabin.
Breakfast was delicious and the perfect amount, we could choose from Sri Lankan or Western breakfast (we had Sri Lankan). There's a lovely view from the tree house where food is served.
I actually ended up here at the last minute due to the late arrival of my train into Nanu Oya and being unsure of how to get to Nuwara Eliya upon arrival but later realized this spot is where I should have planned to stay the whole time. Nanuoya is a much a more peaceful location to base yourself and this spot is so comfortable with conveniences like a tea kettle, coffee, and tea in the room, great views of the tea plantations, and easy access to both the train and buses into Nuwara Eliya.
We arrived late at this hotel and were warmly greeted by staff who spoke little English. A few things got lost in translation but we got there in the end. The whole hotel was like stepping back in time, the rooms, the dining room, fine china service at breakfast. The Firs was definately good value for money when we saw the view over Nuwara Eliya and met wild ponies out the front. The Firs is old fashion with a sort of "Faulty Towers" feel about it but I would stay here again.
The best place we have visited, the staff was super friendly and helpful! Their mother was really kind and cooked us really delicious food. Her son Ruka suggested us many places to visit in Nuwara eliya and we did a tea factory tour with him which was amazing! The view from the hotel was Incredible and we had a great talk near the fireplace which reminded me my home, Enjoyed the stay & highly recommended place!
1) One of the best places to stay in Nuwara Eliya (Also known as Little England).
2) Walking distance from the Gregory Lake.
3) The hosts were very accommodating, and it felt like home.
4) Breakfast spread was good.
5) Shan (Host) also has a list of must visit places which are nearby the property. Incase, you are not sure what to explore when in Nuwara Eliya, do ask him to share the link.
The hotel is very charming and walking distance from the main road. You can easily walk to the restaurants for some dinner. Staff are extremely helpful and considerate.... Breakfast was filling and delicious. Their signature omelette was delicious... Beds are so comfortable.... You'll definitely enjoy your stay here if you're visiting Nuwara Eliya....
Wonderful small hotel in Nuwara Eliya which is walkable to pretty much everything in the town. The staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable from giving me tips on what could be done during the very unfortunate curfew. The room was one of the largest of my trip and the bed super comfy. Great breakfast that was filling albeit humble.
This was the most amazing room we had in Sri Lanka so far! The view from the floor to ceiling windows isn't unbelievable and the bed is super comfortable! Everything was very clean and in good condition. The staff is extremely nice and helpful with booking tours and activities around Nuwara Eliya. I highly recommend this place.
Visiting the Hill Club is like stepping back in time. It’s part hotel, part museum, and gives a real flavour of what Nuwara Eliya was like in colonial times. The stay were very professional and service was excellent, and the food was delicious. We’d recommend the formal dinner, it’s a real one off experience!
The owners are really nice and attentive. Everything was very clean. There is free tea and coffee available. In a quiet area, there isn't any noise around so I slept well. I had two thick blankets to keep me warm (it gets cold in Nuwara Eliya at night/in the early morning). Comfortable bed.
The hotel's location in Nuwara Eliya is simply breathtaking. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering stunning views of the golf course, it provided a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. The peaceful ambiance was perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Very beautiful & nice boutique hotel it was ready cozy stay ! Great hospitality and super clean very nice view to Tea garden food is great , nice to have breakfast with nice view to tea garden . 15-20 min by car to Nuwara Eliya
Awesome view, on million dollars. Very kind manager. In the room we had everything what we need. Comfortable bad, hot water, tea pot, fruits, tea, coffee. So for that price - best choice for stay in Nuwara Eliya.
The cleanest hotel in Nuwara Eliya, the best in the area too. The main restaurant has all the cuisine and the food was amazing. Customer service was excellent.
Great hostel a convenient 15 minute walk to central Nuwara Eliya. Gorgeous garden and patio. Clean, nicely sized rooms and washroom. Thanks for the stay!
We loved staying at this hotel, staff were very helpful and welcoming! Breakfast is great! Recommending this place if you planning to visit Nuwara Eliya.
