The Redgarth was easy to find and we got a warm welcome from Stuart the owner, staff and locals.
Check in was straightforward and the breakfast pre order worked well.
The room was large, clean and bright and the bed was very comfortable.
All staff were friendly and professional.
In 350 acres of mature woodland and peaceful rolling parkland, this beautiful country house hotel has its very own private golf course, free Wi-Fi and charming, elegant, individually decorated rooms.

The reception staff were responsive, efficient and friendly. The staff in the breakfast room were very polite and considerate. A good range of options for breakfast of which we chose the full Scottish, which was beautifully cooked. Our room was both practical and beautifully furnished. We also loved the sense of humour on the embroidered slippers!

If you want a quiet place to stay then this is it ....Totally silent which is what we like.
The hosts Karolyn and Chris are really friendly and make you very welcome
As mentioned by previous guests the breakfasts are v good and the idea of an honesty bar is a boon .........Sit by the open fire ( which Chris tops up as the evening goes on) and crash out.
Bed was very comfortable -Slept like a log.

First class service from all of the staff. Our room was perfect and spacious. Our evening meal was fantastic as was the breakfast. A total relaxed break for both of us. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thoroughly recommend a stay at Old Meldrum House.

Tricky to find in the dark until you happen upon the arch - ie no signs to it in the village or on the road from New Machar.
We were staying with my son in Newmachar, so we didn't go anywhere else. We'll be back in the summer, so ask me all of this again & I'll tell you, but I suspect that if you weren't into golf, the hotel would seem a bit biased towards golf. So a tennis or bowling green, something to do if its raining e.g. a dart board & a pool table - otherwise its all a bit too hushed tones & posh, but there's not enough buzz when you go into the bar? Oh, and the wifi in the stables need a repeater to make it fast enough to stream. If the TV in the room had had iPlayer ie was a smart TV, we could have watched Tina Turner on it rather than on my phone with buffering!...but these a trivial details. If this hotel was in Edinburgh or Glasgow it would kick every other hotel's butt!

The hotels position in the golf course was fantastic, view from our room were great! Unfortunately covid spoilt the ambiance of what was a pleasurable short break. The evening meal of beef was excellent not as sure of the other food, it was a hit or miss according to your taste. The Australian barossa red wine was very good but that's my taste! An all round good hotel for a short break.

it is a nice hotel - reception staff are very pleasant.
it is a nice hotel - reception staff are very pleasant. Corona arrangements take a little off the experience
However we found the service at breakfast very poor with orders taking far too long. Service staff forgetting orders or making promises to return with tea and such and not doing so at all
No marmalade available for three days -other random shortages - for which there seemed no reason
My room-quite a nice suite with a lovely big bathroom - however spoilt by giant green exit sign which bathed the whole room green at night - who wants to sleep as if in an elevator?
Perfect location in the heart of the town of Oldmeldrum. Great facilities within 100 metres of the home. Home done out to a nice modern standard and handed over in a very clean condition. The property comes with decent internet so general internet use such a streaming etc works well. Great to have a working fireplace as we used it every evening. Kindling and log/coal can be sourced at various locations in the town.
I stayed in a four poster bed in the old Manor part of the hotel. Evening meal awesome. Abundant delicious breakfast next morning. Whereupon I moved into a very spacious executive room overlooking the golf course with tremendous views.
Loved it so much I booked 4 more nights in another executive room to extend my stay and delight.
I feel like goldilocks. Am amazing place!!
Claire ‘s Townhouse in Oldmeldrum was absolutely gorgeous, very stylish, extremely clean and having a real open coal fire made it so warm and relaxing. Definitely Five Star and truly professional Hosts and very helpful and genuine and the little touches that Claire left was very much appreciated.
We loved staying in the charming town of Oldmeldrum and in the lovely Redgarth Inn. We enjoyed our comfortable room with its great view. Stuart was a great host and we had fun chatting to him. We had dinner at the Redgarth every night and the food was delicious and the atmosphere convivial.
The Redgarth exceeded my expectations. The room was much larger than we anticipated. The owner, Stuart, was very helpful and engaging with us. Every request that we had was immediately granted by the staff. The location was perfect for exploring Aberdeenshire attractions.
A fantastic apartment! Spotlessly clean, right in the heart of Oldmeldrum and close to Meldrum House for events. Loved the fact there was milk, bread and butter provided. Pub next door is great, staff very friendly and the beer garden is superb!
Redgarth is an exceptional local hotel and restaurant in Aberdeenshire. The room was lovely with a great view, the staff and host were superb and the food excellent. Also, a great location for seeing the great sites in the area.
Fantastic Hotel with outstanding large rooms lovely views over the mountains and a lovely quiet location. The staff were friendly helpful really great place to stay.
Milk, bread, tea and coffee provided in the apartments.
All three family groups enjoyed their stay. Having apartments was much more convenient than hotel rooms
