Though Campos do Jordão is located in the country of ever-lasting summers and lush jungles, the town is better known as a winter paradise. Its secret resides in its altitude of 1600 metres, which makes it the highest in Brazil, and therefore one of the coldest. Once you’ll be surrounded by Alpine architecture and tempting local chocolate, you’ll be amazed by this beautiful place.
The first settlement was established during the second half of the 19th century, and the dry and cold weather was quickly appreciated to treat lung problems. The later progress of medicine transformed it from health resort into a laid-back winter retreat. Nowadays, Campos de Jordão offers a large variety of hotels and is the preferred winter destination in the country.
Known as the ‘Brazilian Switzerland’, the winter temperatures below zero make it the national capital of fireplaces and warm food. Apart from the chic private winter residences, charming Swiss-style hotels and cosy ‘pousadas’ are available throughout Campos do Jordão. The surroundings of the Capivari Square are particularly popular.
The closest airport is São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport, and the town can be reached following the Carvalho Pinto Governor motorway. Before travelling, check out the Campos do Jordão’s hotel deals on Booking.com!

Been traveling to Campos do Jordão since childhood and I love it clean ir, nature and quietness compared to big cities. Campos is now busier with more food and stay options but is still cozy to visit, has some accessibility built over common public spaces and new attractions near centre and around the town.

If you like quiet luxury with exceptional service (shout out to Bruno who was amazing), this is your place. Free parking in a safe gated courtyard. Lovely grounds to walk around. A great location above the hustle and bustle of the city. Recommend eating at Confraria do Sabor in town. Great food and exceptional wine list! I would avoid going on a Saturday. Too crowded in town.

The city is very pretty with lots of restaurants and shops.
The city is very pretty with lots of restaurants and shops. The weather was perfect; on the cool side. The architecture is very European like. Lots of flowers adding colors everywhere. We were kind of upset by the number of people coming up to us offering tours and outings. They can be very insistent and annoying. We were not lucky with our choice of a place to stay but we saw some very pretty and inviting hotels in city.

It's a pleasant city, although a little too touristy in relation to some of the other nearby cities that seem to be more "authentic" places. Lots of restaurants are somewhat pricey and since my wife is vegan and I'm vegetarian our options were restricted, though there is one vegan restaurant in the city (which I thought had the potential to be very good but it wasn't meeting its potential). There are some very nice parks near the city. One of those parks, Amantikir Park, is a little expensive, but it's well worth the visit. Parque Estadual Campos do Jordão had nice hiking trails. We weren't in the city at its busiest period -- it seems like it might be too crowded in June and July. I would suggest going there off-season, though I have heard that the music festival in July is nice.

Extraordinary views of Serra da Mantiqueira.
Extraordinary views of Serra da Mantiqueira. Great restaurant options in Vila Capivari. Don’t miss Horto Florestal, Pico do Itapeva, Amantikir. Bring your own wine as restaurants overpricre all labels, even cheap wines.

It is a city for those who like parks and good food, but it is by no means a cheap trip. Restaurants can be pretty expensive, be sure to check the menu first. The parks are very beautiful and well maintained, but most are charged.

This lodge exceeded our expectations. Exceptional in every detail: before, during and after the stay. A staff member called us to wish a good trip on the eve of check in. Spotless clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. A five minute walk to Capivari pedestrian mall. Exceptional brunch included. Afternoon tea. Lots of places to lounge and a hot spa booked in advance for your family. Staff is very courteous and assists you even after checkout. They literally make you you feel at home. It’s international quality level. Will definitely come back.
Nicely decorated, spacious and warm rooms. Heating in the bathroom was very efficient and towel warmers worked very well
The hotel is very cosy in the public areas, with crackling fires after dark in the various drawing rooms and restaurant.
Breakfast is a very leisurely affair as is served until 12:30 so you can sleep in and not feel rushed at all!! This makes the stay all the more relaxing!
Six Senses Botanique is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at and we have travelled a lot!!
The location is absolutely gorgeous but what was truly exceptional was the service. Nothing was too much for them, attentive to the detail, warm and friendly staff but also discrete. By far the best holiday experience of our 17 day tour of Brazil. Thank you Six Senses Botanique!!!
Everything about this hotel was amazing! What stood out to us the most was their attention to detail when it came to our dietary requirements. We had one person who couldn't eat gluten and one who couldn't eat dairy and they provided special delicious meals for us for breakfast and cafe da tarde.
Besides this the staff were very kind and attentive!
Location is excellent
Parking is also very good as you can simply walk to the downtown
Hotel hall is beautiful, you can fell the city European style
In general, very clean. No issues related to dirty towels, bed or the floor
The location in the mountains and therefore the views are incredible. We stayed in the most basic room, but it was still very spacious and with great facilities. The interior style of the hotel is very beautiful.
Very clean and comfortable suites ideally located for a visit to Campos do Jordão. Very good breakfast and great hospitality by the owners. Highly recommended.
Beautiful hotel. Great breakfast. Super comfy beds. Fantastic location. Lovely staff. Gym with old but functional equipment. Free bikes to take for a ride.
