The Old Town is beautiful, with lots of good restaurants & bars. Highlights for us were the Cable car although make sure it is a clear day or you'll see nothing. The walk up the the fortress, there are 1350 steps so a hard climb, but the views are fabulous. Visit to Perast which is a very pretty village, we did a taxi there (€25) and a speed boat back (€60 for 3 of us). We did a boat trip to the Blue Cave, however disappointingly we couldn't go in as our boat was too big for the weather conditions. We think the captain new this before we paid and departed but took us anyway so make sure you check before you book.

Lovely old town (inside the walls) but lots of tourists coming in from cruise ships close by and coach trippers. Pick a day without cruise ships for a less crowded vibe. Plenty to do and see in and around the city, especially if you like walking and cycling. Plenty to see in the region as well, although a car is almost essential to get to some of the more remote places. We stayed in Dobrota (about 5km along the waterfront from Kotor) so could cycle in easily and it was a lot quieter. Don't try to find parking in Kotor. Nigh on impossible, unless you pay good money!

We had been to Kotor before and love it. 4 days is plenty of time to spend here. In the summer it is very busy and very noisy, into the early hours of the morning. Kotor is a very beautiful town and the trip up the mountain by cable car is well worth it. If possible take a boat trip around the bay. Be aware that within the city walls the pavements are very rough and there are a lot of steps to many of the apartments. Hotel Hippocampus has a great roof bar and Dino the waiter is lovely

Kotor is cute little city, beautiful bay, impressive mountains, really really good seafood. Also enjoyed cute little bars in the city. We walked up the fortress which is pretty solid 60minute hike uphill and 30minute downhill, it’s hard cardio but it’s worth it the views are amazing.

Kotor is a well preserved historical city with an impressive fortress wall stretching up the mountainside. There are a few interesting churches. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Some of the restaurants outside the old city walls are fine dining. Kotor attracts large cruise ships, so the town can become inundated by large groups of tourists.

We loved it, but if you don't like cats don't go!
We loved it, but if you don't like cats don't go! They are everywhere, I've never seen so many in one place in all my life. We found it really heartwarming how well they were treated by both the locals and the tourists. Food stations and little beds for them in the park. Wonderful! Kotor is a stunning old town, full of history and the scenery is breathtaking. We stayed for 4 nights and that was plenty of time to do the all things we wanted. Any longer and we may have been a tiny bit bored, as its such a small place. I would definitely recommend for a short break though.
This was an amazing stay for us in Kotor! The location might be the best part, in the Old Town in an old building. You're surrounded by quietness, as the windows are placed towards a small courtyard. The room itself was kept very clean, tidy and serviced by a nice and helpful host. Furthermore, you have all the amenities you need, even a small kitchen! We loved our stay and will come here again when we get back to Montenegro.
Initially we weren’t expecting it to be so far away from the old town, but the rest of the hotel won us over. There’s a pool & lots of outdoor seating where you can chill, and is always kept clean, the host was SOOO helpful (eg she helped us rent a motorbike to drive around and answered all my questions throughout the trip). Each room is equipped with a kitchen, mini fridge and also utensils - so very handy.
Very clean and reasonably well equipped.
Nice balcony with good views of the river.
A 10 to 15 minute pleasant walk along the waterfront to the entrance to the old town
The hosts were pleasant enough - though they seemed strangely nervous of us - not really sure why …..
We travelled for a month in Montenegro and this was our most expensive apartment - but then I guess it’s a very touristy town….
The room, the pool and garden, breakfast, hosts, all absolutely brilliant!
Would recommend the property to anyone visiting Montenegro. On the quieter side of the bay which was great for us, with some really nice restaurants close by if you don't want to head towards the Old Town.
Nigel and Phillip gave us some great recommendations and were brilliant hosts, thanks again!
Excellent hotel! We liked everything - location, cleanliness, staff. The hotel is quiet, clean and peaceful. Stunning views of the lake and mountains. Tasty breakfast. Close enough to the Old Town on foot along the promenade or on bicycles (rented at the hotel). We really enjoyed our every day in Montenegro and definitely recommend Alkima hotel if you want to stay in Kotor❤️
Beatiful place and well designed apartment. The best pillows and cover we had ever had! Very close to the sea side path with the restaurants, which turns you into old town- 10 minutes walk only. Fantastic and extremely friendly owner Slobodan. I will really recommend this place 👌!!! Thank you for very nice experience at Kotor and Montenegro 🇲🇪!!!
The location, the views of the sea, the rooms are huge! Love this hotel. It's perfect for exploring Old Town, and hikes to the top of the mountain. Kotor is a very special place. You are very centrally located to everything! I'll definitely stay here again! The free breakfast is outstanding.
Amazing location and very cozy and bright spot to stay in. Had all of the amenities, a wonderful private porch area, and a very quiet spot to sleep. Staying in the heart of old town Kotor was an absolute treat, and the property was modern, comfortable and very well appointed.
Wonderful view. Becir Aga made our stay very comfortable. The room is wide enough, clean like 5 stars. The view is wonderful. Near to everywhere, (old town, supermarket, mall, shore). There is not any option for hotel in the old town, apartments are most common.
The hotel is beautiful, located in the center of Kotor, a very convenient location, since all the beaches in the Bay of Kotor are close, and in the evening the charms of the old town are at your fingertips. Very pleasant accommodation. All recommendations.
The rooms, kitchen and bathroom are really very clean and the employees are very polite, thoughtful and friendly. you can find everything you need. Location: 1 minute walk to market, beach, old town Kotor. Cleanliness 10/10. I recommend.
It a very nice hotel with perfect location, about 45 minutes nice walk by the shore to the old town Kotor. The staff was very helpful, room was cleaned daily. The breakfast was rich and various(fruits, cereals, croissants, salads,....).
I liked a lot the medieval Hotel with a perfect location next to the bay of Kotor. We had a room with view on the bay. The staff was super friendly and the hotel had everything we wanted (e.g. standup paddling board).
Very nice apartment, modern decor, comfortable beds, about a 15/20 minute walk from the old town of Kotor, taxi to the old town from the apartment is roughly 2/3 euros, onsite parking which is great for Montenegro
The property and location itself were great. The pool was beautiful with amazing views. Quick and easy to walk to the Old town. The actual apartment was fine, basic but fine. This area of Montenegro is stunning.
The location and view is good. Its price is decent for the view and location as mentioned. The hotel is located in the Old Town of Kotor. You may consider this facility only for the view and location.
This is a great little hotel in the heart of old town Kotor. It looks beautiful both inside and outside. We enjoyed a great breakfast out in the courtyard.
