The personalised service from the moment we arrived, staff going above and beyond what would normally be expected. The room was large and beautiful, the food delicious and the setting idyllic. We felt like it was almost our own private resort.

As like for other wine regions we tried to find a hotel with a winery in walking distance. This one is about 500m from Bimbadgen Estate, which features a high quality restaurant, a cellar door and a pizzeria, and we made use of all of that.
We had a friendly welcome at H Boutique Hotel (also by some roos, which enjoyed the rain), and got a big room, in fact it's an apartment with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room and a terrace. There's of course ample parking.
Next to the reception there's an interesting shop / bar / cellar door... don't know what to call it, but we enjoyed a nice cheese and wine tasting there, and the next day a breakfast too (it's not open every day though, but we were lucky). It was perfect for the rainy day we had on arrival. Apart from the winery you can walk to, you're very close by car to every other Hunter Valley attraction and winery.
Located in the tranquil Hunter Valley, Spicers Vineyards Estate offers spacious rooms with free WiFi, a fireplace and spa bath, a 2-hour drive from Sydney.

Spoilt with the number and quality of exceptional Hunter Valley wineries.
Wines were brilliant. Cellar doors very knowledgeable and willing to share their wine knowledge as needed.
The compact nature of the Valley means travel is easy and without hassles.
Restaurants and concert venues are 1st class.
Being so close to Sydney... it's a must to visit and enjoy the world class wines!

Beautiful area with gorgeous scenery and incredibly welcoming people at every place we went. So many little wineries to visit, chocolate and cheese. A great place to relax and wind down.
We weren’t that overwhelmed by the brunches we had at Liesure Inn and Eden at the Garden Centre, but the surroundings and lovely people helped overcome that. I think some places rely on the tourist one time visit rather than getting everything right.

It turned out to be an AirBNB. Promised breakfast and had to cook myself. Not a good choice. Told by owner I could go out somewhere else to have breakfast!!!! Why when I have paid for it?
Shower over spa tub in bathroom so not easy getting in and out. Tear in one of pillow slips. Furniture not very nice.

It's great for couples, not alot to do for children but we found a few options. Perfect for a weekend getaway and of course a wedding which is why we were there. Super impressed with Brokenwood and the changes they have made.

Pokolbin has quite a few things to do and a number of accommodation options at your disposal. It's just a matter of how much you can afford to spend and how much time you have to see everything. We drove around as this was easiest for a family, although you had the expensive horse and carriage or cheap electric bike hire as other options. The wineries are always a winner, but the Chocolate & Fudge Factory and Cheese Factory are good to visit as well. Take a look at Pepper Tree Vineyard. They offer free use of their gardens/vines for a picnic opportunity, but you do need to book this.

Hunter Valley Gardens was the best.
Hunter Valley Gardens was the best. Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort was horrific. Only those visitors who booked with Oaks could use facilities others could not even though we paid the same amount. We were deprived of the use of major facilities at the resort as we booked through booking .com. It was a humiliating experience, awful for my daughter. Heartbreaking. The woman at Oaks reception was vile when explaining the disaster to me.
We had a fantastic time at Leogate and would definitely stay again when visiting the Hunter Valley. Villa was spacious and well fitted out. The balcony had beautiful views, including wild kangaroos jumping around just metres away in the late afternoon! The restaurant on site is also really top notch and would definitely recommend eating here at least once during your stay. The location is great, in the heart of Pokolbin, with parking on site right outside your door.
Hotel was lovely, the staff were super friendly and there was no lack of towels and “necessities”. Lovely heritage room. There was no room service menu in the room I’m assuming due to Covid, that was slight a pain and we just headed out for dinner instead, though I’m sure if we asked one would have been brought to us. So super close to the Gardens and the cute shopping village. We will definitely be staying again.
A great villa with a peaceful and private setting. Felt very homely and was exceptionally clean. Great kitchen facilities, spacious lounge and balcony and very comfortable beds. The resort itself is 5 star and would recommend it over other golf resorts I have stayed at in the Hunter. Great wineries close by, next door to Brokenwood which is a beautiful spot for lunch and a tasting.
The room is quite spacious and clean. The bathroom is very spacious and the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are very nice. Jayne is very nice lady and gave me good tips on what time we shall get to hunter valley garden for Christmas lighting on NYE! The food in mill restaurant is very nice - scallop entrees is my favorite.
Outstanding hotel in every way, fully deserves 5 star rating. Rooms were exceptional with a shower and spa bath. The location is beautiful and peaceful and the kangaroos outside were an added bonus. All facilities including the pool, restaurant, and spa were excellent. Staff helpful and efficient. We would love to return.
the location was great! The cottage was really nice & clean. All the essentials were there for a family. pool, tennis courts & kids play zone is a must needed activity zone. Hunter valley gardens are really close to the motel! nice, peaceful & quiet relaxing environment. will be going again !
Outstanding place. It had everything you need and more to make your stay feel luxurious and 5 star for a fraction of the price of other places nearby. And the staff were just so so lovely. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone travelling to the Hunter Valley. 10/10 for me
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room size was good with very nice interior.
Valley view was beautiful.
Breakfast was fantastic - 5 star
Dinner was good too.
Definitely going back again.
The location is good because it's close to Pokolbin Village and the Botanic Gardens. You can walk to Brokenwood and Hope Estate. If you love the pub, it's perfect as you can stumble down the driveway!
Pokolbin Village is in the heart of the wine country!! Also minutes away from the gardens where there are lots of kid based things to do !! Great place to stay for the family, big and little kids!!!
Great self contained little units with lovely views. The bathroom was amazing (double rain shower head, good pressure and hot water). Breakfast provisions were also very generous. Loved our stay.
Check-in was easy. Beautiful location out in the countryside but close enough to wineries and Pokolbin Village. Lovely views.
Highly recommended for those who want quiet seclusion
