Cottage was clean, comfortable and cozy. Great water pressure and shower. Beautiful evening. Sun pours into cottage. Continental breakfast provided. Hostess was very gracious and friendly. Offered us some seasonal fruit from her garden. Would highly recommend this Cottage. If we come back to Tasmanian, we will for sure stay here again!

The historic cottage was a lovely oasis, pretty as a picture, clean and beautiful inside. Everything for a comfortable stay was provided including fresh little vases of flowers. Frome the large windows there were views over the farmland and the location is very handy for sightseeing around Richmond and the Eastern Bays. The wood heater was a real bonus and the cottage stay was a highlight of the trip.

Owner was friendly and helpful and had switched on the heat before we arrived so the place immediately felt cosy. Loved the decor - very comfortable and the antique furnishings were lovely. The facilities were excellent and would support a longer stay. Brilliant location on the main street of Richmond. Would definitely return for a longer visit if we return to Tasmania.

Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania.
Richmond is a beautiful part of Tasmania. A gorgeous sandstone convict built bridge, colonial buildings, the old Richmond Historic Gaol, the Rivers Arm Hotel. The walk along the river is lovely and lots of happy ducks. Crafty shops. Well worth a visit. Wish I had stayed longer.

The Richmond area had a lovely village atmosphere and worth staying a night or two. Australia's oldest bridge, quality cafes - Czegs, Richmond Arms for pub food and great little shops - a lovely town.

For those of us from the big mainland cities, like Sydney and Melbourne, all of Tasmania, is a breath of fresh air. We flew into Hobart early in the morning and went straight to Richmond. Automatic relaxation. All you need to do is walk up and down the main street. There are a coffee, shops, restaurants, bars, antique shops. The opening and closing hours are a little unpredictable and no matter what time of year you will need summer and winter clothes because once the wind comes, it’s cold.

So many beautiful historical buildings, picture perfect postcards everywhere you look! Old Richmond Gaol was an interesting tour too. Easy to walk around town and we had a delicious meal at the Richmond Arms.
I had a wonderful experience at the hotel, enjoying the scenic farm view and the opportunity to feed several friendly sheep. The entrance to the main building was adorned with a profusion of flowers, creating a delightful atmosphere. During the morning, I encountered a elegant white horse, adding to the charm of the countryside setting. If you appreciate a serene country life, this mansion is the ideal choice. We also had the pleasure of tasting fresh apricots and milk, both of which were absolutely delightful.
Lovely place with all the bells and whistles. It is tastefully detailed, but not cluttered. A comfortable cottage to come back to and relax after a fantastic day in Richmond. We loved the Washing Machine and dryer in one unit. We set it on a wash and dry setting and when we got back, from a day on the town, the clothes were dry and ready to fold.😁.
The beds were so comfortable.
We Highly recommend a stay, if you are in Richmond, Tasmania.
The room is compact but perfectly adequate for two people. The winners here were the extra, thoughtful little touches that set this accommodation apart from most we have stayed in. Equally, no bargain priced appliances or fittings were to be found, only good quality throughout. Scrupulously clean and tidy, Just two minutes walk to the main street, it would be hard to find fault with Richmond Barracks (We were in "The Cellar" room - lovely!).
Our family thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful Tara's Farmstay. Comfortable self-contained cottage set amidst the rural area is just what we needed. The breakfast basket was amazing. The facilities were top notch! Thank you to our amazing hosts for their friendliness, helpfulness and knowledge of the local area. We only stayed for five nights... we could have easily stayed longer so we could explore the local area fully.
A cottage in keeping with the history of the area.
Location was very pretty, just across the park from the Richmond Bridge. Also it was easy to find and an easy walk to all parts of Richmond.
The bed was very comfortable and the hot water in the shower was hot.
It was nice to have a wood heater and an electric hater ensuring that the whole cottage was cosy. With two living areas the cottage was spacious
I had a one bedroom unit for one night. The unit is actually separate from the main hotel building. It was spacious with a small dining area. Although advertised as having a kitchen, this was not the case. There was no microwave. It only had a kettle and toaster. Wifi was connected and worked well if it didn't drop out. Overall, the unit was very comfortable and relatively quiet. Reasonably priced.
Taras Richmond Farmstay was confortable and homely. We conpletely made ourselves at home and felt very relaxed. We had a good stay. We enjoyed the warm bread and lovely nreakfast spread. We also enjoyed the lovely conversations with Kim. It has also a good location which is near Richmond, Sorell and a couple of farms. This is a good stop if you wish to travel to Port Arthur and Mount Wellington.

My partner and i often travel to Hobart for work and in the past 6 months we've tired of staying in the CBD hotels. This trip is our fifth in two months where we have stayed at Mulberry Cottage and each stay has been exceptional. Maureen is a wonderful host, beautiful and comfortable accommodation and a lovely village.
Such a nice and cosy cottage in a very convenient location. Just a 1-2 min drive to the main street with shops and restaurants. Breakfast was also superb! Maureen was super friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay here again next time i visit tassy :)
