The location was outstanding. An easy walk from the train station and then an easy walk to the Altstadt. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly, and the modern hotel provided a pleasant contrast to the medieval city. I actually recommended the hotel to some Frankfurt residents I met in Munich later in my trip.

Excellent location, even though finding the car entrance is tricky. The breakfast room is bright and relaxing with free mini-newspapers in several languages. It was directly at the start of the Light Festival route. Lots of small comforts in the room. Very large rooms. Convenient split toilet/bathroom.

FAQs about hotels in Regensburg
On average, 3-star hotels in Regensburg cost £78 per night, and 4-star hotels in Regensburg are £95 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Regensburg can be found for £161 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Regensburg’s cobbled streets, colorful façades and step gables constitute Germany’s best-preserved medieval center. A 12th-century stone bridge crosses the Danube River between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town and islands forming the Stadtamhof district.
Regensburg was an important trading center and its wealthy merchants built tall towers, like the Goldener Turm, to outdo each other. The dual spires of its Gothic cathedral tower over red roofs sheltering sidewalk cafes, traditional bierkellers and modern bars.
Niedermünster abbey also has square towers, while the Alte Kapelle’s most impressive feature is intricate gold interior detailing. Nearby Neupfarrplatz houses the annual Christmas markets, while the old town hall is on Kohlenmarkt. Just down the street, a large David and Goliath mural adorns a house.
A plaque outside a more modest house marks Oskar Schindler’s former home. Much grander is Schloss Thurn und Taxis, an 8th-century monastery converted to a noble residence. At the eastern end of a park encircling the historic center, there's a villa built for King Maximilian II of Bavaria. It overlooks riverboats cruising past a more outlandish royal creation, Donaustauf’s Walhalla monument, resembling a Greek temple.
Booking.com has a great range of Regensburg accommodations including 4-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments and guesthouses near the train station.
We loved Regensburg. It is a beautiful, quite city with friendly people, great food, and reasonable amount of traffic. Our visit was very plesant. Nothing went wrong. Dining in the restaurant and shopping in the supermarket are both quite cheap.

I travelled to Regensburg every month for 15 years working and never tired of the city. We still visit every December to meet old friends and enjoy the Christmas ambience.
Plenty of traditional Bavarian restaurants - my favourites being Hacker Pschorr and Dicker Mann - but lots of modern places as well
A beautiful old city centre - exactly how you would envisage a traditional Bavarian city. Not to be missed

Regensburg is a wonderful medieval town.
Regensburg is a wonderful medieval town. The entire old town is easily walkable and there are so many ancient homes/buildings to see. Get a local guide so you don’t walk right past something incredible without realizing.

Beautiful old town, compact, easy to walk everywhere.
Beautiful old town, compact, easy to walk everywhere. Nice restaurants and cafes with great views. There are almost no cars in the old town and it makes it a good experience. The city has a very interesting history. Little shops with all kinds of things. Well worth a nice weekend.
Had very good dinner at Al Camino pizzeria+Peppers mexican- those two places make one restaurant on Haidplatz - and they have tasty tank beer!
We took a 45 min tour via the electric train (leaving every hour from the Domplatz at the cathedtral. The audio guide (in 6 languages) was informativre and fun.
A really nice cosy hotel, with some amazing historic interiors in places.
The location in old town is beautiful and perfectly located for walking to any big sites, and also near the electric aldstadt bus stop (for easy arrival without a car, or travel for those that can’t walk as much).
Breakfast was very enjoyable and had a very nice selection of bread, sweet and savoury things - with some good warm options available too (Scrambled egg + a different meat each day: sausage, Leberkäse or meatballs, during my stay)
The staff were friendly and helpful, the reception area is bright and clean, and the breakfasts were good. The hotel is well situated to reach both the station and the old town river and river. There was also a secure room where we could keep our bicycles during our stay.
If you are looking for a spacious property, great location, clean, and extra amenities, than this place is for you! We visited Germany with some friends and this was by far the best place we stayed and the best value! We would stay here again, and hope to come back.
Hotel is next to multi storey car park for convenience and in middle of old town for easy walking. The staff are wonderful and spoke good English with welcoming smiles. Our room had a balcony for making the most of the warm sun. I can't fault it.
Brand new hotel, our room looked completely unused (as of March 2024). Parking for free was available about 100 meters from the hotel. The room was very quiet. Good location relatively close to both the Autobahn and the city center.
Wonderful location in the heart of Old Town. Friendly staff and a great, easy access courtyard for bicycle storage. Nice breakfast with some gluten free options for my wife. A/C worked great and it was completely quiet at night
Right in the heart of Regensburg! Only a five minute walk to the train station and easy access to all of the old town. The staff was a delight and so friendly. The room was great for the price. Perfect for a nice weekend trip.
Easy 15min walk from the train station and 15min walk into old town. It is in a very quiet area with no road noise or train noise at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was comfortable.
Really nice small hotel, small but very comfortable and quiet room, nicely decorated lobby and breakfast room. Perfectly situated in the old town but next to a parking garage so easily accessible by car.
THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL WAS SMACK IN THE CENTER OF THE OLD TOWN,THE STAFF ARE TOP AND THE SMALL HEATED OUTSIDE AREA WAS AMAZING FOR SMOKERS AND ALWAYS PACKED.
THE RESTAURENT WAS ALSO VERY GOOD.
Great spacious and comfy room, bad as well. Super kind staff on the reception, great breakfast, easy parking inside and for free! Best business hotel I have ever been in Germany. Great price btw!
Surprisingly modern and bright from the usual Ibis hotel. Parking in the building was a bonus. The guys on late shift were super friendly when we arrived and spoke English
location was convenient for arrival and departure but a bit of a walk from the river and heart of old town. Not inconvenient though. Staff was fantastic.
Great location in the middle of old town, big and very nice furnished and equipped apartment, comfy bed and pillows. Very friendly and responsive host.
