Sarajevo could be described as a captivating oasis of European cities, where East meets West in an integration of diverse cultures and a fascinating history mixed with a fresh cosmopolitan and charismatic vibe.
A museum in itself, Sarajevo is a sightseeing and history lover’s haven from the numerous mosques, churches and synagogues, to historic landmarks such as Sarajevo War Tunnel and Latin Bridge. Afterwrads, you could wander through the Old Town, which is a world on its own.
Sarajevo’s cultural diversity means a large selection of local delicacies. Be sure to visit Sarajevo’s historic and cultural hub Baščaršija bazaar, an ancient trading place with cafés, restaurants, cosy bars, art, and loads of accommodation options.

It was a good idea to take accomodation in the very center of the city. We also booked a guided tour, 3h long, which gave us an idea about the city and its main attractions. The city is an interesting mix of old and new, with marks of the (recent) conflicts and history but also lots of reconstruction going on. Be ready to see a lot of tourists from all over the world and many friendly shops. Take care though, to thiefs!

3 or 4 days is sufficient in Sarajevo. East meets West.
3 or 4 days is sufficient in Sarajevo. East meets West. The contrast between the brutality and destruction of the war 30 years ago coupled with a balance of peace, love, tolerance and harmony is an incredible mix of emotions.
The cable car ride to the top of the mountain provides spectacular views of the city.
For sports lovers visit both football stadiums. Even take in a match. It costs under a tenner.
The food is nearly always exceptionally well priced, in large portions and incredibly tasty. Most main courses between £6 and £12
If you are teetotal and want an alcohol-free beer, the options are a little restrictive although you can find a local beer and Erdinger for c£1.50. Both are extremely palatable. Expect to be questioned as to what is the point of beer without alcohol though !! This city likes to drink.
Once you have exhausted the city hire a car and visit Mostar and Neum.
The scenery is simply stunning.
Recommend kayaking on the Nevretti River.

Mostar is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, renowned for its iconic Stari Most bridge that elegantly spans the Neretva River. The city's cobblestone streets, Ottoman architecture, and warm hospitality make it a picturesque and culturally rich destination. Exploring Mostar is like stepping back in time, where history comes alive at every turn, offering visitors a truly enchanting experience.

Sarajevo was very friendly and felt safe and comfortable.
Sarajevo was very friendly and felt safe and comfortable. There is a great cafe culture so you can sit with a coffee or beer and watch the world go by. It is culturally diverse and feels welcoming, all the more extraordinary considering the fairly recent history of war and the siege. There are walking tours which are worth going on- ours was great, with a local, knowledgeable guide. It’s worth going up on the cable car and having a wander around the mountain tracks- all well signposted.
We can’t wait to go back!

A really interesting city.
A really interesting city. The people are warm and friendly, ready to welcome and assist visitors. Many speak a variety of languages. English is commonly used, menus are often in English as well as Bosnian. The food is tasty and there are a variety of cuisines to choose.
The city is walkable, there are many tours available. We chose a free
Walking tour and the Fall of Yugoslavia tour. Both to our guides were very knowledgeable and passionate about their city. They were open to questions and enjoyed sharing their opinions.
The cable car allows the visitor to get a Birds Eye view of its size. The Old Town is great for traditional meals. Good coffee is available everywhere.
I liked the fact that East and West meet, it gives hope. It was an experience that will remain with me for a while.
Considering that we were one of the cheated guests in Sarajevo this year (the first accommodation we booked didn't exist), We were happy that we got a hotel in the center that was available.
The hotel itself in the heart of the city. The immediate vicinity of "Baščaršija" where everything happens. The receptionists are very friendly. The cleaners are nice. They cleaned our room every day. Upon arrival, we received a bag of coffee and a magnet of the city of Sarajevo. Very nice of them :)
Everything can’t point out any fault..Perfect location as it’s in the old town,so many restaurants and bars..The receptionist staff with the beard and glasses (sorry don’t know his name) was just excellent went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.. would highly recommend this lovely hotel for a trip to Sarajevo .. we had booked a family room but were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment..Thank u for your hospitality Hotel Story.. Keep up the good work 👍
Location was good as it is just a very short walk from the vehicle drop-off point. The old town is off-limits to cars. Most attractions are within walking distance. Shopping malls a little further but still walkable for me. Food all around.
Took an overnight trip to Mostar and came back to same hotel as they stored my big luggage! Took all my tours with "Meet Bosnia" and their meeting place is just 3 mins' walk away.
Great location, pleasant and serviceable stuff! The hotel room was clean, the breakfast was tasty and we got everything we asked for in addition. The only thing you have to check before with hotel manager is a parking spot. They have public and private parking, but only if you highlight that proposition. Would definitely book again and recommend to others!
We felt at home in Hotel Aziza. Mr Haris, the hotel manager, promptly addressed our queries and helped us book our tours. All the staff members were cordial and helpful. The property ensured that we had good vegetarian options for breakfast. We had a memorable family vacation in Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 and Hotel Aziza played an instrumental role.
Perfect location. 10 out 6 places to see in Bosnia are within wallking distance. In fact it takes 27 minutes to walk to all of them and back to the apartment. We have a 1 year old daughter and even walked back to apartment to change her diaper and feed :) Quiet, clean, very functional. Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family
Got there. Nobody about .
Bit of paper telling me to ring a number.
Number didn't work.
Wandered around the hostel. No sign of life.
Had to go and book into a hotel down the road.
Complete waste of time and money. Sarajevo is cheap. Just spend 30 euros and stay in a hotel. There are loads if them.
The staff have been very kind and helpful. The hotel is on a great location, my room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, which you need for a work trip. The staff helped me book a car to the airport as my flight was very early. All in all, a great stay and I would definitely come back.
The house was really clean. We stayed two nights in a suite room and we loved the view and the house was in a good location with nice crew and car parking. I don't know about other rooms but i love the suite if i go to Bosnia again i will stay there again. Thank you for the warm welcome.
The Gym and Swimming pool
The hotel helped me in the first day with singing on early at 12:30 pm but the room were terrible.
I had a really good price from booking for 3 nights .. and I think that's the reason why the hotel gave me a small terrible consumed room.
Hotel is located 1 min on foot from the famous Sebilj Cesma. The serve superb Bosnian pitas as a part of their buffet breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. I will definitely return when I visit Sarajevo again.
Centrally located and this was convenient for us, because it was rainy during our time in Sarajevo so we could easily come back to the hotel anytime we needed.
The breakfast was amazing - be sure to go for the Bosnian breakfast option!
We were 3 nurses from croatia. We wanted to visit bosnia and booked that apart. The house is close to the center, had everything we needed and is a spacious house. The host is very helpful and kind person. I recommend you to stay here.
Moj izbor svakog puta kad sam u Sarajevu. Sjajna lokacija, ljubazno osoblje i moderan enterijer soba i restorana. Nemojte zabici da probate i hranu u restoranu koji je u sklopu hotela.
Zoe, Ryan, Rene and my bosnian guy was %100 warm hearted people. I highly recommended. The rooms are also clean and if you are looking booking right now stop to looking and book here!
Excellent location, clean and modern accommodation, good communication with staff. I highly recommend to book with Villa Basamak if you are searching for a calm and peaceful place.
The location is excellent, and the rooms are tidy and clean. Hosts are very nice and friendly. If I come again to Sarajevo, I will definitely book the accommodation here.
