Angaston is well positioned in the Barossa for wine tasting. Maggie Beer's Farm is close by as is the Chocolate Factory. There is a lot of history around the town, you just need to explore to find it.

Angaston is a pretty area with Tanunda, & Nuriootpa very close by. Amenities are great with a Foodland supermarket, quaint little shops along the main street. There is a lovely farmers fresh fruit & veg store on the main drive between Angaston & Tanunda. It is about a little over an hours drive to Hahndorf & The Cedars with Hans Heydon house & gallery in the Adelaide Hills, & about 2 hours to Clare. There are lots of wineries & cellar doors close by - Pepperjack, Jacobs Creek, Peter Lehmann to name a few. Berge's U Underground cellars & tasting room is in the main street & well worth the experience. There is a hop on hop off bus which takes you around a selection of wineries $80. It leaves from the carpark behind the Visitor's Ctr in the main Street. The roads are well maintained throughout the area. Maybe a 3-4 night stay followed by 1-2 night stay in Hahndorf, followed by a 2-3 night stay in McLaren Vale.

Angaston is perfectly placed to explore the Barossa region and Eden valley. The pretty town has some great coffee shops and excellent wineries (both large and boutique) within a few minutes. The Saturday morning market at the local town hall had some fabulous produce and interesting crafts. Places highly recommended include Lamberts Wines, Vintners restaurant, The Barossa Chocolate Company and Nosh cafe.

Angaston is a lovely town in the Barossa, but not as busy as the big ones which makes it a great place to base yourself for your weekend away.
We eat at Saltram's Winery, the food was delicious, exceptional in fact, we will be planning a way of eating there again. We also had dinner at Wanera Wine Bar, the food was also very good.
The friendliness and welcome.
From the moment you arrive Julie the host makes you feel welcome and her attention to detail is incredible.
From the fruit and chocolates in the fridge to the complementary port and games in the cupboard you realIse Julie has made it special for you and puts a lot of thought into what you have while you stay in her accommodation.
The quality of workmanship is simply outstanding and the whole place is a credit to the conversion work that was done and the breakfast at Nosh Angaston was superb.
We will stay again!
We had a great stay at the Bauhaus Hotel, perfect place to rest our head for a night, after exploring the Barossa. In a central location in Angaston, free parking behind the property and beautiful modernised rooms. Seperate bathrooms are very clean and modern, quiet rooms despite being above the pub. Lovely street with cafes & bakeries before hitting some wine tastings. Would stay here again, highly recommended! :)
The cottage was very well appointed with everything you could possibly need and was generously provisioned with breakfast supplies. There were some extra touches that made the place especially welcoming, such as the port and chocolates in the lounge and a picnic basket with picnicware. The location is within walking distance of shops, cafés, hotel and a park and yet it was a quiet and peaceful stay.
Nicely furnished 2 bedroom apartment within walking distance to cafes and shops in Angaston. The king size bed was very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped for cooking with a coffee machine and coffee supplied too. Nice, quiet position with parking at the rear of the property. We stayed in the Chardonnay suite which is upstairs.
The location was fantastic, central to Angaston which is in the heart of the Barossa. There is a wonderful garden surrounding the house, and our large group were able to be accommodated together. The host was helpful and able to be contacted throughout our stay. Fantastic food and wine options within easy walking distance.

Angaston definitely the most beautiful town in the Barossa!
Wonderful heritage cottage a short walk from the Main Street in Angaston. A great base to see Barossa wine country. The breakfast food was plentiful, and the bottle of red and chocolate apricots were a nice touch. Don’t forget to have wine and cheese at the little table under the walnut tree in the back garden.
