Quiet country town close to Lake Glenbawn and surrounded by horse studs. Main Street was very quiet and a lot of roadworks happening (which may have contributed to the town being "dead" and not much open up the main street on a Saturday). No major retail shops at all in town either but it does have 2 supermarkets and several takeaway options including maccas, pizza and chinese. The Belmore Hotel is however a lovely old pub for a meal and a drink in the beer garden (and the live music was a bonus). Lake Glenbawn is a short drive from town and looks amazing but $15 day entry for a car so we only saw what was visible from the drive out.

Scone is a nice and tidy small town worth visiting for an overnight stay. Currently, it is suffering from staff shortages like many rural places, so be prepared to find reduced menus at restaurants and pubs and to wait a bit longer than usual. They are doing their best, so one must appreciate their considerable effort and hospitality.

Scone had some great cafe's and boutiques. The surrounding countryside was lovely. We particularly enjoyed Halo cafe and The Cottage restaurant. The Herd store was very nice. We enjoyed trips to Murrurundi.

    The town is quite nice.

The town is quite nice. There are two good museums, one of which is dedicated to the 'Walers', the NSW horses that became famous in WW1 in the Middle East, particularly in the 4th Australian Light Horse charge at Beersheba in 1917. There are at least two good restaurants in Scone as well, one of which is rather special. .

My visit to Scone in the beautiful Upper Hunter was a must see for me as I have a keen interest in visiting regional centres in NSW. As a keen supporter of the horse breeding industry I enjoyed a drive past tour of the major studs which are part of the worlds second largest stud scene. The headquarters of the Australian Stock Horse Association Is located here as well as an Equine Research facility. Scone & it’s surrounding countryside is an ongoing tribute to the role the magnificent loyal hardworking horse has played in the development of the entire country.

There was just so much to like about this property . It was warm , the kitchen was amazing and the breakfast and snack food provided was ample and of great quality. Our host Kath even had two huge slices of homemade carrot cake there for us to have with our cuppa once we arrived. They host had provided containers for recycling- something that we really appreciated. Although about 3 km out of the Scone township the bike path made it an easy flat walk into Scone . It was just so quiet at the accommodation. Just what we needed!

The motel was perfect for our little stop over in Scone. The facilities were clean, the room was clean, the staff were absolutely lovely. We had the Chicken woodfire Pizza on our first night, and it was delicious! We stayed with our 11month old, and the surroundings were quiet (apart from the odd truck or two). It was perfect as somewhere to put our heads down. I know when I'm back in town, this is where I will be staying.

We needed just one night of accommodation in Scone while passing through the region as a family (two children with us). For the price, this motel was as expected. A simple one-room layout with a queen bed and two singles for the kids. The bathroom was on the small side, with a shower over the bath, but the water pressure and heating were good. The bed was comfortable and overall this motel suited our needs in the circumstances.

Received a super welcome from the receptionist. Room was comfortable with a desk and socket to work on my laptop. Bathroom bigger than most and the room comes with smart TV, iron and hair dryer with ample tea/coffee. Location is on the main highstreet and a few minites walk to the shops and cafes. The Scone rail station in easy walking distance for those on foot.

The Belmore is a beautifully renovated old pub in the main street of Scone. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, the cleaning lady gave us a hot tip for breakfast down the street. The shared bathrooms are also renovated beautifully and kept very clean. The room was spotlessly clean with crispy white sheets.

Easy walking distance to everything in Scone, close to the Thoroughbred Pub and right next to Coles for groceries. We were in town over the weekend, so not a lot of cafes/stores open, but I think that is pretty common for a country town. Beautiful town and surrounding areas, good stay overall.

Step back where you can relive a past era in time. Had a specially quiet peaceful sleep. Unique feeling. Hope you guys can keep it going unchanged. At the point in time where old traditional hotels that haven't been renovated much are something new and different to experience

We had a room with a spa bath and as this was a road trip to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary it was a very romantic and intimate way to finish our day trips in Scone. The room is large and comfortable with all you can need for an enjoyable stay.
