Set in Lanzhou, Holiday Inn Express Lanzhou New Area, an IHG Hotel offers a garden.

The location was quite a distance from anything I wanted to do or see. It is in a new area that is still developing. At the moment it is an “airport” hotel. But a very good one. But the best thing was meeting Derek who was wonderful in devising an itinerary for Gansu province for me. He booked trains, flights and hotels for me. This was wonderful good luck that he was there to help me. Gansu is really worth seeing but not easy to negotiate for a single western tourist

    it is a beautiful town with many attraction, i am amaze with the rapid development of the city. I love mostly is the fruits, it is the peach seasons during my visit and i really love the fruits from Lanzhou.

    We are still in Lanzhou, we like the place not too crowded,...

    We are still in Lanzhou, we like the place not too crowded, we stay in Lanmei hotel west station Qilihe, there are many eateries nearby and public transportation. West railway station is nearby too where we took the speed train to Urumqi. Places like Zhongshan bridge along the yellow river and some of the places are easy to get around with public bus. First few nights we stay at Lanmei hotel Xiyuan there are many Muslim food. Than we move to Lanmei Qlihe where there are more Chinese food. Mutton and beef are very common here. Just try and experience all the local food. People on the street are very helpful to assist with the directions.

    Lanzhou is a travel friendly city.

    Lanzhou is a travel friendly city. There is sightseeing bus, hop on and hop off as much as you like at any of the bus stops on the route to see all attractive in the city (RMB 10/day, RMB 2/one time get on and off ). There is Lanzhou Railway Station to Zhangye, Dunhuang, Qinghai etc, this city is a best transit city.

    Loved the Antique Market for photos in the City Temple.

    Loved the Antique Market for photos in the City Temple. We wish we had had more time for the BaiTa park across the Yellow River Zhongshan Bridge. We hadn't known about the trams across the river and up the mountain. The river park is long and lovely to walk but we ran out of time. Three full days in Lanzhou for all this and the Gansu Museum would have been great. Where were all the sight seeing options listed when I booked?
