Kabara Nubian House, hotel in Abu Simbel

Kabara Nubian House has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Abu Simbel. The accommodation features room service and a 24-hour front desk for guests. Abu Simbel Temples is 2.2 km from the hotel....

Nice place to stay in Abu Simbel, it is a beautiful colourful and well kept building with lovely gardens. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good fixed price dinner, which was more expensive than elsewhere in Egypt, but seems more standard for Abu Simbel. Staff were friendly. Not far from the temples, which is handy if you're making multiple visits (eg returning to see the light show). The driver we had booked and brought with us from Aswan was made welcome here by the staff.

    Definitely recommend staying overnight here.

Definitely recommend staying overnight here. We booked a driver to take us (group of 3 adults and 2 children) leaving at 9:30am from Aswan, stopping for a quick 10mins at Aswan High Dam on the way, and then going to our guest house (Kabara Nubian Lodge) for lunch. We then went to the temples for about 3pm - this was definitely a good time to go as there were hardly any people there and by about 4:45pm we were able to get solo photos inside and outside the temples. We returned back to Kabara for dinner and then our driver took us back to see the light show - which I'd recommend. You also get to take a few night shots of the temple lit up. I chose to get up in the morning to view the temple at 6am, as this is when the light hits the front. This aspect definitely did look good - but when I arrived at about 6:05am there were already a couple of coach tours on site and by the time I left at around 7am it was super crowded with at least 15 coach loads of people. I hate to think how busy it would have been by 8am! It was definitely the right choice to visit the day before in the afternoon!

A must visit historical place with a experience of a lifetime. We visited the sun festival on 22nd February 2024. Though initially we were disappointed with the long queue, the queue moved up easily and we were able to see the rays from 'Ra' shinning on the three statues. While waiting at the queue take time off frrom gazing at the magnificient temple to look east towards the "Ra" rising over the lake. The paintings on the walls are flawless specially more so when you begin to imagine that they were done thousands of years ago. Must visit the nefartari temple. Try the coffee by Lake Nasser.

Must see if you are visiting Egypt.

Must see if you are visiting Egypt. I rate these temples above Pyramids and I have a reason for that. I think Pyramids and other sites in Egypt you will see, admire and appreciate but they won’t stay with you for too long. But Abu Simbel temples will stay with you and will leave an impact not only because of their grandeur but also because of the reason they were built and unprecedented effort it took to save them from being flooded and submerged forever. And despite being so enigmatic themselves, they give you some perspective..It’s been a few days that I have visited these temples but still when I close my eyes l, they appear in front of me…

Beautiful temples. Worth also looking into the other temples in the desert such as Aurora, wadi el-sabua anf Dakka. It is also a quiet & peaceful small town worth taking a few days to relax and enjoy the resort

If you want to stay more time with the great temples, it is worth staying one, or more than one, night in the town. The town is quiet and clean. There are some small lakes (part of Lake Nasser) near the town, so it's pleasant to walk along the road or bridge.
