The location at the frozen river was very beautiful. The staff was exceptionally helpful, the guide Tomas was extra kind and most surprisingly he speaks excellent Slovak:) We rented cross-country skis directly at the property and explored the forests and area around which was a breathtaking experience. It is not too far (walking/skiing) to Ivalo city where you can do grocery shopping if you need or buy souvenirs.

Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between Rovaniemi and Inari. Amazing location to admire the northern lights and visit Inari. Nature is incredible and it looks less touristy than Rovaniemi.

Ivalo is a quiet place for nature and sport lovers. A great place to take a rest from busy life and see SNOW in time of climate change. The shops in the centre offer everything you may need and even far in the forest your mobile will still get the signal.

We enjoyed watching the northern lights in the outskirts of the city ... Dont expect the colorful northern lights as you see it in the photos and videos in the Internet , mostly it will be in white color only... Ivalo Hotel club nord and northerlightsriders.fi arrange the best tours which we hired. They showed us the lights in the better places around Ivalo and inari... Apart from norther lights, snowmobile, skiing and other sports activities are available but we did not try those things.

Ivalo town as a tourist attraction might not have too much to offer, however, I was going to Inari and spending time there, hence, Ivalo was optimal for accommodation. It is great that the little town has all services needed and several places for grocery shopping. Also good bus connection.

Ivalo is small but includes some lovely nature trails which are lit in winter and have useful information boards. The supermarket sells fabulous camping kit- such well designed and well made things we don't have at home like collapsible silicon sandwich boxes. And lovely wooden cutlery.
Very nice location by the lake and close to another lake. Ivalo is 10 minutes away by car. Loved the forest, wonderful autumn colors, as the ruska season was in full bloom. Accommodation was spacious, with everything you need. Also a thank you note to the host, who at check-in asked what would I like to do during the holiday, and when I mentioned photography she searched few northern lights books that I could borrow for inspiration. Was a good choice, as there were couple of nights when the Northern Lights showed up.
I booked a one night stay, Feeding Reindeer and Photography experience and Private Barrel Sauna experience. Let me just say that this has been the best place I have stayed in Lapland! They have amazing hospitality and the dinner was simply amazing!!! And yes, it’s included in the price of accommodation. The presentation of the food is just awesome. The Aurora Village team was very friendly and helpful. If you are planning to come to Lapland, this place is a must to stay for one night. You will not regret.
Location: 300 meters from the bus station, close to many outdoor activities companies, supermarket is right across the road, close to the Ivalo river.
Apartment: just perfect, with everything you might need for longer stays as well, a super comfortable sitting room and fully equipped kitchen.
Check-in: very smooth and we arrived during holiday (owners were not there).
Owners: very kind and available since the day we booked, they also helped us managing one of our outdoor activity with a local company.
Cozy, clean, and comfortable.
It had the necessary items to refrigerate, eat microwaved meals, and had a kettle for hot drinks.
The check-in and check-out method was seamless.
The location is ideal - 6 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from Ivalo, and within 30 minutes to Saariselka and Inari.
P.S. - You only need to drive a few minutes north of Ivalo to see a spectacular showing of the Northern Lights.
Definitely a great deal for the price.
Hotel Ivalo was absolutely spot on! All the staff were lovely & helpful. The games room with the pool table, board games etc was wonderful for our evenings with a few drinks from the bar! The activities provided by Club Nord were amazing, we especially enjoyed the snowmobile safari & go karting on ice (we even paid for a second go!) The hotel is in walking distance to a supermarket, gift shops and lovely restaurants. Absolute little gem!

The house is very nice. In the middle of the forest, but with other houses in the area.
Very close to the center of Ivalo. There are a lot of beds and they are very nice.
There is Wifi internet which is not to fast, but enough for checking your email.
Room was exactly as the pictures, nice, clean and warm. It was located in a separate building but not a problem. Breakfast was okay as well. We travelled end of November and Ivalo was veeery quiet, same for the hotel/activities proposed.
Abosultely beautiful views from the house. The host was extremely flexible with our arrival and departure times. He assisted us with planning some excursions while we were in Ivalo. Very easy to contact! Would 100% stay there again!
We saw the Northern lights on our first night from the hotel
Stuffs are very helpful and nice. They managed early check-in for us
Room was clean and comfy. Bed was very comfortable

A lot opportunities to do at the village. Nice breakfast buffet and a very nice Igloo with everything you need at a great place.
Also the coffee and tea are all day available at the main restaurant.
The hotel had an excellent breakfast and staff. It was very clean and had nice rooms with beautiful river views. It also had excellent saunas. Great location. I will stay again!
Beautiful, cozy, well-equipped apartment in a great location, in the city center. Friendly and accommodating hosts. Highly recommended! Perfect spot for exploring Lapland.
