It has a 24-hour reception so there was somewhere to go when the ship from Helsinki arrived at 4 a.m. They had my room ready early, by around 12 pm. They also let me switch the breakfast from the day or leaving to the day of arriving, since on the final morning I wouldn't have had time to eat it. The breakfast offering was good. The room was as new, very good.

It is a charming city with kind people.
It is a charming city with kind people. We visited Maxinge shopping center and ate one of the best pizzas in a long time in a Diablo pizzeria, which felt authentically Italian (from one that grew up on Italian) in so many ways. A trip would have been worth it just for it. Many lovely places for charming walks around the city and area.

Lots of attractive wooden houses and enjoyed walking in the parks and along the seaside. 1 1/2 days was perfect. I visited during weekend. It was surprising that all the shops cafes etc closed on saturday at 4pm and didn't open at all on sunday. So it was really quiet and there were literally no one in the city center. And basically not much to do.ElisaFinland - 10Scored 10
It's a great spot for a weekend getaway.
It's a great spot for a weekend getaway. While there, you must cycle around the marshes, visit the Museum Ship Pommern and dine at Indigo! If you can, take your cycles with you or rent cycles there. Do not rely on public transport, especially during the weekends. The frequency is extremely low.

Breakfast was superb with lot of variety with lot of local dishes, such as Åland pancake with cream and plum sauce, Åland apple juice as well as local cheese and ham with fresh bread. In addition to this, there is a large outdoor pool which gives a Mediterranean vibe for the hotel experience. The room was very spacious having also an air conditioning to cool the nights although was very warm outside. We had also a free room upgrade with the sea view for our 7 nights trip.

Our room was quiet and the beds were comfy. Despite showing its age it was well cleaned. Being situated only a few minutes walk from the harbour and the museum, the location served as a convenient base for a Mariehamn adventure.
