Raise your wine glass and toast the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town center, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.
Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge. On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the bars and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.
A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.
Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.
Bordeaux is a great city. Very clean. Virtually no traffic in the centre so it makes it much quieter and very pleasant. It’s got a great vibe and you can see there are lots of improvements and growth happening.
Love the tram network. So easy to use.
So many different things happening ie festivals etc. Could easily imagine living in Bordeaux.

I recommend Bordeaux for its rich history, stunning architecture, and exquisite wine. The region's picturesque vineyards, quaint villages, and cultural heritage offer a delightful experience for travelers like myself who appreciate wine, gastronomy, and history. Exploring iconic landmarks such as Place de la Bourse and the Bordeaux Cathedral adds to the charm of this enchanting destination.

Great place to visit with lots to do and see.
Great place to visit with lots to do and see. We went for the big Quinconces antiques fair, Imax cinema and the Bassines de Lumiere Tintin which was excellent. Ate in Irish Malone's pub as served food until 10.30pm. Only drawback is Parking which is very expensive, roughly about 20-25 euros a day.

Great food, great wine, great transportation options.
Great food, great wine, great transportation options. Busy train station, but lots of day trips to nearby locations are available. Trams provide many options for exploring the city. Updated information on access to museums is not always available or accurate, so double check everything.

An amazing city that I am ashamed to say I have never visited properly before. Was lovely to spend time walking around and soaking in the atmosphere. We ate at some wonderful restaurants as well as visiting some historic sights. Very easy to walk around - no need for a car if you are mobile. France is not cheap so be prepared to pay for a good meal. I will return!

Glorious city, Paris by the sea.
Glorious city, Paris by the sea. Loved the city centre, the architecture and the submarine art museum. Many many glorioys cafes and restaurants. I’ll be back to go to the amazing looking wine museum amongst other things.
The Ibis Bordeaux Centre Meriadeck is very conveniently located, close to the cathedral, the mairie and other attractions, while also being easily accessible by car (which is a lot more difficult if you stay in a property in the old city centre). Like all Ibis hotels I have been to, it is designed to be functional and easy-to-use, as it mostly caters to people interested in no-frills accommodation for short periods. Check-in and check-out are very easy, and the hotel accepts pets, which was another absolute necessity for us.
This hotel is is a great location with major museums within a few metres. It is a great place to stay if you want to walk around and experience this beautiful city. When I arrived I got excellent information from Laetitia which set me up for my 3 day visit and was really helpful. They were also very careful to ensure that my gluten free diet was accommodated at breakfast and that can be hard to find in France. I found this place calm and welcoming and really enjoyed staying somewhere unique.
Beautiful apartment, very well equipped. Excellent shower, bathroom and new kitchen. Very quiet at night despite being on a busy street with a tram stop. A very nice supermarket and an excellent bakery close by. Very close to Jardins Public. City centre easily walkable or the tram stop is a short walk away. The owners were very nice and provided wine and water on arrival which was a nice touch.
The location of the hotel is excellent! It's in the city center, right next door to the Opera! There are two tram stations close by, so it's really easy to travel around the historical center of Bordeaux.
The hotel itself is furnished in an old-school style, which I liked. The room is basic, but it has a bathroom and everything one needs on a short trip.
You cannot beat the location if you are attending an event at the stadium. It is walking distance. It is also very convenient to get into downtown Bordeaux on the tram. The hotel staff are so incredibly kind and helpful; the rooms are air conditioned which made a HUGE difference, and the rooms came with welcome gifts which was so generous.
Apartment clean and spacious. Plenty of everything in the kitchen and bathrooms. Responsive and accommodating hosts. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Very close to a supermarket. Baggage storage for final day was also available at a 5 star hotel in the middle of town, which was perfect for us.
The perfect hub to explore Bordeaux from.
Quirky hotel which is ideally situated for exploring Bordeaux City Centre everything you need or want to see within 20 mins walking distance. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a Deluxe room which was nice without being anything special room is clean however would say it is quite basic.
Room was adequate for a couple of night stay for a city break. A bit dated in design & decoration but met the purpose.
The location was somewhat away from the City Centre and sights to visit but was within walking distance of some good restaurants. All in all a reasonable hotel for the price.
Ideally located, in the center of a newly renovated and lively area of the city and very well linked to the Bordeaux city center by the tramway. The hotel is completely new, with a super cool and contemporary style and déco!
Great buffet style breakfast with lots of fresh products.
I strongly recommend staying at the Life Bordeaux Hotel. Service is very kind and helpful, localization close to the train station on the way to the city center is another advantage. The ratio of price to quality is excellent, even the smallest room gives a feeling of comfort.
- Straightforward to find for our overnight stop from
Spain to ferry crossing in France.
- secure car park
- Carrefour 2 minutes walk
- has a cafe in hotel for light meals and drinks
- park nearby to walk the dogs
- quite convenient to walk to bars and restaurants
I like the cleaning, spotless.
The location, since city center is 3 stops away with the tram B or 20 min walking.
Very accesible parking.
Bery friendly staff, and the very best: air condition! Very rare here in Bordeaux.
Great value for money!
Perfect location, hotel is brand new, clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious.
The staff is amazing! Great support from check-in to check out. It makes you feel at home.
For sure I will stay there again when I come back to Bordeaux.
Good and clean hotel close to the main railway station. Excellent location for travelers using train to places in the environs of Bordeaux. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
overall the hotel is good. The staff are the absolutely the best asset of the hotel, they are very helpful and friendly other than that I dont know why the hotel is a 5 star
Very convenient hotel for our last night in France, closed to the train station, clean, and pet-friendly. The reception staff are all very nice, professional and welcoming.
This was a very central location in the city of Bordeaux. The room was very large compared to other European hotels, the bathroom was nice, breakfast was good.
