This place is very special - it has a refined but laidback atmosphere that instantly makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The property is incredibly beautiful and every detail has been considered with the upmost care and attention. Everything in the rooms is very high quality and designed impeccably, our suite was very spacious, with a huge terrace and lots of different areas to sit and relax in private - bliss. There are two pools and lots of different places to relax, as well as lush gardens and sculptures from exhibiting artists to be enjoyed. The food served from breakfast through to lunch and dinner is all worthy of it’s own review - declious flavours, imaginative dishes and the freshest locally sourced ingredients. A special thank you to Caroline - a gracious hostess who is passionate about creating wonderful memories for guests. Carefree summer days at their best!

St Paul is a beautiful hilltop medieval town 20 minutes from Nice airport. You do need a car to get here, although obviously buses are available.
I would say it is a great location for a short to medium stay – four days was perfect! If you do end up going here book a table at the colombe D’or restaurant – it is one of my favourite places in the world, but be warned and book as soon as you can, as you will not get a table if you just turn up! I have been here several times before, and so booked it about 10 weeks before I left London! This may not be the case in the winter of course! Ignore the TripAdvisor reviews – I think I must’ve gone to completely different restaurant😂. The service is fantastic, the waiters do speak English and in my opinion, the food is not overpriced although of course it is expensive as everything is in the south of France in fairly touristy places, which St Paul is! I live in London, so frankly anywhere is cheap by comparison! Do go to this restaurant famous for its paintings given by artists. After lunch have a good mooch around the pretty streets - you will find many sweet shops selling very expensive biscuits and sweets but the owners are very happy for you to look😊

Our host was welcoming and friendly, with excellent Engllish and happy to advise on local cultural attractions and restaurants.
She surprised us with a delicious and beautifully decorated heart-shaped strawberry shortcake when she found that we were celebrating our 60th

The host told so many lies about my stay. She knew I didn’t have a car and I asked for only one trip to buy my groceries but she didn’t want this. There weren’t any taxis and that’s why the local took me home.I did notify the host.My plane was late which I explained to her. This is so wrong she gives this explanation.

Really lovely place to visit but you only need two to three days there to see everything. Lovely art galleries and shops. The best place to eat was Le Tilleul run by Maxine and his team. Fabulous food and really great service ! Avoid the Colomb D'Or restaurant - overpriced and very basic food. A basket of raw unpeeled vegetables in a basket with a tiny tiny bowl of pate for €40 ! Go and see Atelier Tanagra - lovely artwork, and her recommendation for the Craquelin from Patisserie Palanque in nearby Vence has to be followed.

St Paul is a beautiful historic village, full of art galleries & quirky shops selling lovely local produce. It's an ideal place to spend a day just wandering the cobbled streets & relaxing with a cold drink to admire the views of the countryside. Non slip shoes are a must as the narrow streets can be slippery.

We stayed nearby but visited the town every day or evening.
We stayed nearby but visited the town every day or evening. A charming place with extraordinary views. Several good restaurants. cosy atmosphere with folks playing boules at the Place de General de Gaulle. Walking around was easy, however I recommend good walking shoes (the pavements were centuries old and naturally uneven)

Everything was exceptional. Their high quality services exceeded our expectations. Free access to facilities like the spa, the outside pools and lagoon or the staff members attention made our stay magical. The room was impeccable, special mention to the evening cleaning room service. Moreover, breakfast is various and tasty.
The whole property is so beautiful, we fell in love with it then we ended up adding one more night to our stay in order to visit Saint-Paul de Vence village. It was a must !
Villa St Maxime fits perfectly the definition of quiet luxury. Ann has been the perfect host for us, such a welcoming, friendly but discreet person.
Staying in Villa St Maxime felt more like being at a friend's home than a hotel.
All interiors have beautiful touches and the whole building is full of light.
The apéritif was appreciated and the buffet breakfast mouthwatering.
Will definitely come back for the next exhibition at Fondation Maeght, which is at walking distance (but hillside!).
Stayed in this place twice (once with my husband and the 2nd time with a couple of girlfriends).
Both rooms were tidy and really clean. Host was very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent!! and the swimming pool looked very attractive (we didn't get a chance to swim).
Double room was very spacious; the triple room was a bit crowded - but still larger then most hotel rooms in the area.
Porches were nicely equipped with everything you need for a relaxed evening
This is a beautiful and quiet location with stunning views. The pool was lovely and had an outside dining area and comfortable loungers. The accommodation was spotless and the bathroom was spacious and well equipped. We were welcomed warmly by the hosts who provided a delicious continental breakfast on request and were helpful with local advice. Very close to the stunning village of Saint Paul de Vence. A great stop-over to explore this lovely area.
The house is centrally located in Saint Paul de Vence and a short walk from all the attractions and a host of fantastic restaurants. The house is very spacious and beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated, with a large modern kitchen, big lounge and spacious main bedroom and bathroom. It is very quiet and peaceful inside and is a haven from the busy all the activity in the the town. We felt rested and rejuvenated at the end of our stay.
This beautiful country hotel with colorful plants and flowers in a large garden were very attractive in addition to the huge pool with chairs and tables for relaxation. The breakfast was delicious, and their library was a relaxing area to sit in and converse with friends. The staff members were always ready to assist us in any situation. If you are looking for tranquility and relaxation, then Les Messugues welcomes you with open arms. :)
This hotel was fantastic! It’s clean and in a very safe, gated area in the hills of St Paul about 15-20 min from Nice. We loved to have somewhere quiet to relax in that felt family owned. There are two adorable dogs on site and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. They even took our package to the post office for us because they didn’t have deliveries come up there! 10/10 would stay again!
The property is absolutely beautiful on the heart of Saint Paul de Vence. We loved the shared space and the small number of rooms (we never saw any other guests). Our room was beautiful with a full shower and stand alone tub. Walking distance to everything and an amazing AC which was necessary in July. There was a coffee maker in the common area for breakfast. Very quiet and peaceful.
A hidden gem near Vence which I didnt know it existed although I have been coming here for years. It is one of the best hotels, if not the best in the area. It is a beautiful place with gorgeous gardens and swimming pool. The suites are super clean, very comfortable and luxurious with lovely terraces or swimmimg pool.
Beautiful surroundings, nice rooms and breakfast.
Joel was the perfect host: always very helpful in anyway and yet still descrete.
Pool was lovely.
Large and very good supermarket just 1,5 km away.
Highly recommendable for a visit both to see the town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence within the town walls and to visit Nice.
The property sits on top of a hill overlooking Saint Paul de Vence and the valley - the view is absolutely stunning! It is so serene! Baskin in sun rays in the morning, enjoying the lush green view by the pool- no better way to start your day! The hosts were super kind and accommodating. The rooms are spacious.
The lication was perfect near the fondation maeght and St .Paul de Vence.
Breakfast was excellent. The swimming pool superb and available 24 hours.
Our room whilst not large had its own private patio and garden so we had lots of available space. We thought it was one of the best hotels we had ever stayed in.
A quiet area, good location not far for many nice places
20min walk from Saint Paul de Vences through a small path (we did it only once, then we take the car)
The host are friendly and available, but you got the impression they don't really know how to host tourist
Cleaning was done every day
Suite was a good size. Lovely pool. Relaxing environment. Staff v helpful especially Shelley who gave recommendations as to places to visit/restaurants. Good continental breakfast in pleasant breakfast room. The hotel has a small boutique feel.
What a wonderful place to stay!! Relaxing, comfortable, amazing breakfast, walking distance to town. Will definitely be back if we are in the south of France. Jeanette and David were wonderful hosts. Sam, the puppy, was also a special treat!
We came across this little jem with fantastic views looking over Saint Paul de Vence. A place where you can relax and unwind and enjoy the local villages that surround you. Fantastic host who will look after you during your stay.
A perfect place for relaxation, away from crowded zone, nice pool, natural park, comfortable room. A real boutique hotel. Nice people, a special quote for Sophie.
The location near St Paul de Vence and being able to walk into town. The room with terrace was very comfortable, the lovely breakfast and the garden and pool
