Staff friendly and helpful.
Bar relatively inexpensive for a hotel.
Bed comfortable.
Just 2 minutes’ walk from Morecambe’s beach, The Sanderling offers hearty meals with locally sourced ingredients. The center of Morecambe is only 10 minutes’ walk away from the hotel.
I Love Morecambe. There is a good community feel about Morecambe. i have wonderful Tai reasonably priced massages when I am there. There are street plantings and lots of seating. Good charity shops. Very good eating places. Lots of inspiring street art. The Morecambe bay views and sunsets are fantastic and the northern lights can be viewed from there. We ate plant based food at the Midland Hotel which was reasonably priced. It is easy to get around. the buses are regular and you can get rides in pony traps. I would never go to The Clifton hotel again but it was cheap.

Some of it has been regenerated but it still needs a lot of money investing to bring it up to scratch.
There are very few places to eat at night.
Pubs and bars are run down.
Hopefully the Eden Project will inject new life into it.

Morecambe is in poor shape.
Morecambe is in poor shape. Boarded up and derelict buildings abound. Much of it has the feel of rougher areas of Manchester rather than a coastal resort almost in the Lake District. It also seems too spread out. Instead of the main things being centred around one area, they seem to be dotted about here and there, in a strange, disjoint way.

Had evening meal at the station hotel . Food nice . Looked clean around morecambe . Nostalgic visit on the way back from scotland as my grandma used to live there and hadn't been for over 40 years . Visited Eric morecambe statue .
This is a great hotel, in an excellent position overlooking Morecambe Bay. Check in was straightforward. The room was superb. King size room, and bed, with fantastic views over the bay. Lovely little alcove in the room with comfortable chair meant you could relax and watch the sea/bay. Great double shower. Breakfast was very good. Pre-ordered, but very well organised each morning. And the hot breakfast was top quality, great bacon, black pudding and poached eggs in particular. All staff friendly and helpful. Totally recommend this hotel
Really liked the welcome I received from a nice land lady. Although my room was on the top floor the exercise was welcome after a long car journey. The breakfast was nicely cooked and well presented. The breakfast room was spotless and adhered to COVID rules. The breakfast room like the hotel was clean and well presented for such an old building. The nice land lady also proved good local advice of where to dine in the evening. Near to the beach and promenade in the interesting town of Morecambe and location of Morecambe Bay.
Last minute night away and we are so happy we choose this lovely apartment. The instructions provided were clear and precise with parking bay included. The entrance was welcoming and on arrival into our apartment No 3 with balcony and outside area with seating. It was warm and welcoming. Everything was spotless and well arranged.
The lounge and dining/ kitchen are bright and spacious. With everything you need. Bedrooms too are roomy and a lovely bathroom with bath and shower over. Plenty of fresh towels.
The girl on reception was very friendly and helpful on our arrival although we were informed there was a small problem with our shower. This was not an issue as we were going out and as promised it was all sorted by the time we got back to our room. We had booked a King Suite with a sea view and it was definitely worth the extra money. The hotel was within walking distance to the bars and restaurants.
Everything about the hotel is first class (slight exception regarding breakfast). The hotel is just a few yards from the seafront and a short walk to the centre. The rooms are very comfortable and a fantastic bathroom with a great shower. They have a very nice restaurant on site and a great beer garden outback.
The bedroom was great, well designed with loads of space saving ideas, had a great balcont over looking Morecambe bay. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent, likewise with breakfast, wher you could choose your cereal, breads, full cooked, anything really, the staff were all excellent.
I was truly touched by the warm and welcoming atmosphere at this hotel. The staff made me feel right at home, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine hospitality made my experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a cozy and nurturing environment!
We booked this very last minute as we had to visit Morecambe on urgent family business. We have stayed in several beachfront hotels over the years and this was by far the best.
The room was a good size and well heated, decent size bath and huge TV. Magnificent views across the bay.
The breakfast was excellent, well cooked, hot, and ample. The hotel was on the front in the quieter side of Morecambe with beautiful views over the bay. The hotel was comfortable, the hosts helpful and the cleanliness was superb. There were books on the area which you could borrow.
Excellent location, on Morecambe seafront. Extremely good value for money: an outstanding budget hotel experience. Clean, comfortable, and cosy room. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Finally, the hotel has a great bar, on its ground floor! A brilliant hotel!
facilities were very good even kids play area, it is a lovely renovated old style building. smaller but very friendly. staff were really great, friendly, very helpful, nothing was a problem. we loved the tv documentary about Morecambe and the hotel through the years.
The hotel itself was a quirky little gem set just outside of Morecambe. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly be revisiting the hotel again in the future.
Great location overlooking Morecambe Bay, comfortable sea-view room. Used the hotel's car park at £10 per night. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast. The Aspect Bar external area was great in the lovely sunny weather.
A lovely hotel with a touch of the past. The postion is very historic, the railway brought people to Morecambe. Those who then went to the Midland Hotel were in a special place.
Highlight was the view of Morecambe Bay from our room. Rather quaint, old-fashioned, seaside hotel with evening cabaret entertainment by a solo performer. Friendly staff.
l like morecambe very much what I like about the crown hotel l could see the food was very good l didn't have nothing to eat there but I would stay again
