Staying in a medieval village was quite an exciting experience for us. The Likinia Hotel Is a very new property within a castle walls. But you would never know that, because the builders kept to the original design of the village.
Voula, our host, was a delight!

New hotel in the area, very nice location and great views. The room is pretty small, developers probably wants to squeeze as many rooms per building as they can. On a plus side- AC worked, comfortable beds and super clean. Very friendly ladies at the check-in. It is only 10 min drive from Monemvasia. Overall good stay.

An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.

Unique experience to stay on The Rock!
Unique experience to stay on The Rock! Hike to the upper ruins is a must do, we should have done it upon arrival but waited til the morning of our departure. I would have preferred sleeping in, longer time at wonderful breakfast buffet, and relaxing on our balcony before leaving …. there’s always next time.

The castle area is such a beautiful place and provides a serene place to relax. The views and village atmosphere make you forget the pain of walking up all the stairs and undulating paths.
Elofonissis Island with its beautiful beaches is a short drive away so perfect base for a day trip.
The property is in central location, close to the beach and 200meters from the Monemvasia bridge. It was clean and well equipped with coffee machine, a hairdryer, an iron and hotel amenities (shampoo, shower gel, slippers). It was very cozy with nice decoration and the owner paid attention to detail.
The owner (Dimitris) is very kind and helpful. He welcomed us with a basket of fruits, a bottle of wine and waters and in the end he gave us a small souvenir gift as well.
If we go again to Monemvasia, it will be our first choice.
Very nice hotel in Monemvasia with a wonderful Panorama on the big rock!
Family room is perfect for a family of 4 with two separate spaces, 1 with a very large bed and 1 with two single beds
Very comfortable bathroom with large shower
And breakfast is just perfect with some typical meals. Very appreciated to have the breakfast on the terrace with such a view even end of October!
Very nice people in this hotel, everything was perfect!
We had an amazing stay at this centrally located hotel in the castle (seconds away from all the shops and restaurants). The room had two windows with a great view of the main square and the sea. The owners were incredibly friendly, providing us with helpful insights and recommendations for activities in Monemvasia and the surrounding area. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, stunning views, and warm hospitality.
the property is very cool and unusual. the rooms are beautiful with marble and tile and stone throughout. lots of room, very very clean good breakfast. food offerings within the castle are good. excellent staff. check out the little cafe bar at the very end opposite end from castle entrance for wonderful views and drinks, coffees and smoothies!
The room was very comfortable and the location was very convenient. Street parking in front of the hotel was readily available when we stayed there in late-April. The breakfast buffet was very good with all the usual items for a Greek hotel breakfast: yogurt, honey, olives, meat, cheese, eggs, various breads, etc.
We were in Greece to mark a celebration and my partner had made a comment in the notes section upon booking - the Hotel recognised this and gave us a lovely room which was very large and beautifully decorated, thank you for making us feel so special! The scenery was stunning and we hope to come back again soon.
Staff is fantastic and very helpful. Great swimming pool (area) with a bar and more than enough sun beds with umbrellas during high seasons. Stunning view on Monemvasia. Very nice and extensive breakfast. Hotel and rooms are new with comfortable airconditioning.
The places deserves nothing than a 10.
Our room at klelia hotel was nice clean and comfortable, with a sea view balcony. The hotel has a good position from the centre of Gefira (about ten minutes walk) and from Monemvasia (about twenty minutes walk). The lovely girl at the reception is extremly kind and professional.
This is a fantastic family hotel !!! A really hidden place nearby Monemvasia... amazing view, nice pool, possible to swim directly in the sea, exceptional food and the service is great !!!!! Everyone should book this hotel, impossible to find a better place in this area.

located in the castle and in front of a square next to the see, Theopahno Art Hotel is a great location to explore and walk around the castle of Monemvasia.
The rooms are basic but clean. In our case there was also a nice balcony to sit and relax
Really nice hotel (the opposite of corporate): characterful rooms in a beautiful setting, the historical pedestrianised town of Monemvasia. A good buffet breakfast served in a pretty courtyard (or inside if preferred). Sea view from my balcony.
The hotel is situated in a lovely spot just right on the edge of the corridor to the old town of Monemvasia. Nice balcony with port view on a busy road. Many shops around. Room was ok and relative convinient.
Absolutely amazing location, beautiful and super clean accommodations.
This is our second visit to this wonderful hotel. Highly recommend, one of the best properties in Monemvasia
Beautiful, clean, new hotel close to Monemvasia. Great views of the sea from most rooms and common areas. Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Ioulia at front desk.
