It was a lovely place in a fantastic location, the host, Caroline was wonderful and there was some food left for us which was nice. The bedrooms are on the other side of the unit from the main house and are private with a nice little private patio for each bedroom.

Plenty of activity, trails, scenic views, restaurants, music at certain times and places. A good base for The Ring Of Kerry. Romantic get aways. By night it’s romantically beautiful by day it’s romantically fascinating

Fabulous quiet cottage with original features and a view to die for. The sunsets were incredible. Unfortunately the name has been changed and no one in the area knows the new name so it took ages to find it. The new owners need to put a name on the gate.

A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby.
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby. Parking could be an issue in hi-season, There are scenic boat trips around the islands and can be booked at the hotel. Off-season is quieter but no live music.

I was only staying for one night and would have liked to have stayed for longer as the place had a lovely "feel"

Easy access to tourist options.
Easy access to tourist options. Cliffs of Kerry are on private property on the outskirts of Portmagee and entry cost was 5 Euros per person - good views and a bit of a climb from the car park.
The Skellings chocolate shop was great. You can try many samples of different types of chocolate before buying.
Many people travel to Portmagee for the 45 minute boat trip (one way) and landing on Skellig Michael. Landing is weather dependant - and not guaranteed. Puffins are adorable and plentiful. Guide at top of the steep 600+ steps climb up to the beehive huts was informative. Toilet facilities only at the arrival point to the island.
Brayhead Tower is over the bridge on Valentia Island with fabulous views out to sea towards the Skelligs and cliffs of Kerry. Car park is paid by a 2 Euro coin only. It is a LONG walk to the tower.
Tetrapod trackway is free, difficult to see the tracks but fabulous views. The slate works are close to the Tetrapod trackway but visitor information is limited.
We ate both nights outside at "The Fishermans Bar & restaurant" in Portmagee. Service is good and friendly. They serve fresh fish caught that day and it was delicious.
The smalll supermarket is not well stocked with pre-filled rolls/sandwiches and appears to have limited supplies - suggest you shop at Cahersiveen or Sneem if you are self catering.

Portmagee is a charming village, great for seafood in a comfortable setting. Good location to visit nearby areas such as Valentia and Knightstown. Brilliant whiskey tasting experience available in Portmagee Whiskey.
The property is located close to the restaurants and the bridge to Valentia Island and 5 minutes from Kerry Cliffs. Monica was able to accommodate us before the check in time and bumped us up to a room with a view. The room was beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and the view was spectacular. We were especially impressed with the attention to details and friendly service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants great value for their money and are looking for a beautiful place to stay.
We had a great time in Portmagee and the surrounding area.
The apartment is in the perfect location to be walking distance (2 minutes) to the pub/restaurants in town while also being close to all of the sights and walks around.
We also travelled to nearby towns over on Valentia Island and also over the other side of the Kerry Cliffs.
There is a nice view from the kitchen window down onto the bay.
And you’re very near the Skelligs!
Such a lovely house, in a truly excellent location! Portmagee is an ideal base for exploring Valencia, the Skellig Ring and the wider Ring of Kerry. The house was very spacious with a lovely outside area and just a stones throw from two gorgeous bars/restaurants. Ger was a lovely host with loads of local information for us. We would love to come back!
The place is beautiful and has private bathrooms in the room. Breakfast was amazing and you can’t beat the view! The owners are the nicest I have met and were so accommodating and kind. I have raved about this place to my family as a place to stay if they are in the Ring of Kerry or going to Skellig Michael.
Excellent location, close to Kerry Cliffs and Portmagee with kitchenette and light breakfast items included in room, perfect for a quick breakfast before catching the ferry to Skellig. Seaview and a nice short walk to the seashore in the evening was very relaxing. Room was very clean and comfortable.
I particularly enjoyed our host Marie who is exceptionally helpful, warm, and welcoming. She even special-delivered baked treats on Portmagee's 'muffin day'.
The location is also wonderful and is in immediate proximity to the must-see sight of Kerry Cliffs.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The B&B is located directly across from Hore Abbey, and you can see the Rock of Cashel nearby. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The hosts are extremely personable and helpful.
Andy was very accommodating to us, waiting for us to arrive even though we arrived around 9-10pm. We chose this accommodation because it’s near to Portmagee Pier, for our adventure to Skellig Michael. I hope we stayed there longer.
The location was so convenient to Portmagee as well as the very beautiful Kerry Cliffs (which my son said compared very favorably to the cliffs up north. The room was all new and very clean! Exceptional visit!
The property was a great location in Portmagee. it was only a 7 minute drive to Kerry cliffs and only a drive away to Valentia island. the property was very clean and cozy and the Jaquzzi was lovely and warm.
Our room was spectacular. Three windows looked out on the harbor and the island just beyond it. The decor was the nicest of the hotels we’ve stayed in on this trip. It was spacious and comfortable.
The location was very good for our boat ride to Skellig Michael. Also a great location to the spectacular Kerry Cliffs. Marie was a very nice owner and wanted to assure our stay was going well.
wonderful location right beside the Kerry cliffs and the village of portmagee. beds were super comfortable. all the facilities you need for a short stay. host was lovely and welcoming.
