I might have stayed another night or two. We didn't have a chance to explore very far, and I had enough shopping. Our hotel had room service for food which was wonderful.
We ate at a rooftop fish restaurant and it was very bland. I was hoping for spicy food! Breakfast at Joes Cafe was good. It seemed to be the hot spot for Westerners.

It’s better to do the monuments early in the morning and hire a guide who will ride with you to take you to all the monuments as it’s too hot in June. It will take around 3 hours or more.
If you have nice zoo in your city for crocodiles and alligators then avoid the crocodile park as it doesn’t have anything special. Rest there’s nothing else to do in Mahabalipuram. Food in restaurants like A2b n all depends upon how clean you would like your food to be, I found the restaurant extremely crowded and unhygienic.

Very easy to walk about to all the major sights.
Very easy to walk about to all the major sights. No need for rickshaws unless you find walking arduous. They are available.
Some of the Kashmiri and Ladakhi shop owners really pushy. Most good humoured and we all know it’s a haggling game and people need to make a living. At the end of the day ask yourself how much you really want something and when you’ll be back. Most of these chaps send money home to families and travellers money main source of income
Go to Akka Creations on 39-48 Othavadai Street. The most amazing textile creations and fixed prices as manufactured by group of 100 or so women just out of Mahabs. I bought lots there including a beautiful elephant cushion cover for 500 rupees. Everything really well made.
Must place for authentic and tasty food is Mamalla Bhavan near bus station. A local institution that will not disappoint and cheap.

One of the best resorts I've ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous space, amazing architectures, delightful food, service and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff were amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. My compliments to Allagar, Parameswaran, Jaspal, Navin and the rest for providing gold star service!
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Mahabalipuram.
Exceptionally courteous and caring staff who went above and beyond to make us feel cared for and at home
Semi-authentic village experiences (quaint cottage rooms, pump set, swimming pool, walk through paddy fields, cow milking, farm animals)
Archery and target shooting
Badminton court
Tastefully prepared homestyle meals
Clean, well-maintained property and grounds
Close to Mahabalipuram and Dakshin Chitra
The Room was very clean, Big, and near the beach. We got Clean Towels, soaps, shampoo and a clean water jug, along with clean glasses. The staff was very cooperative. There is no restaurant in this hotel so you have to slightly walk to get tea, food. But all other facilities are there. Highly recommended
A nice place near to the beach, very clean and the staff is helpful. The hotel don't have a restaurant but they can bring food to you from nearby places. Mamallapuram is not a big place so you can walk around yourself, and since the main road doesn't go through the town it feels fairly safe
The location was very near to the sea beach. The gesture of the owner was good. Got the room as per my liking and rooms were big in size with ample seating and storage. Restaurant was below the hotel. The cook prepared food as per the liking. Parking was available too at the hotel.
I would recommend this hotel.its newly constructed hotel and very neat and clean.Ower and Mr Dinesh were very humble and cooperative. All the places to visit in Mabs were at walking distance.i will definitely visit here again.
It was a decent hotel in Mahabalipuram. The quality of sea food and breakfast was great. Pool was good and beach to shore temple is 400 meters and I would definitely recommend to anyone who plans to visit Mahabalipuram
To check the rooms. Not worth the money staying in concrete building in the main block. Total disappointment. Hotels at half the price are much better. It’s a hotel for conference and not for families.
Large room, although bathroom noises from nextdoor guests could clearly be heard.Hotel on the edge of Mahabalipuram. Helpful staff. Swimming pool was nice, but could get over crowded at times
Only the location right in front of the beach. They had helper to get our luggage from the car to the hotel. Also helped in finding a parking spot nearby.
Washroom was quite clean
Sarvanan is an exceptional host. Very neat and clean place. The pandemic has been harsh on them, do stay with Blue Moon for sure during your visit to Mahabalipuram.
