Myvo The Studio apartment at Geiteyjarströnd 4, hotel in Reykjahlíð

A recently renovated holiday home set in Reykjahlíð, Myvo The Studio apartment at Geiteyjarströnd 4 features a garden.

Such a lovely cosy apartment with windows all round and overlooking Lake Myvatn. It was the perfect place to relax and hope to see the Northern Lights from the big balcony outside. The place was thoughtfully designed as open plan with nice touches such as candles and rugs. The underfloor heating was very efficient and plenty of kitchenware plus oven, stovetop, microwave, washing machine etc. We had looked at slightly cheaper options nearby but I think it was worth paying a little extra for this one. Would highly recommend!

Vogar Travel Service, hotel in Reykjahlíð

Situated by Lake Mývatn, this guest house offers basic rooms with shared facilities. The Mývatn Nature Baths is a 10-minute drive away.

Big kitchen with everything you need, pretty clean and nice. There were only a few other guests, so there was always a free bathroom. The setup is well thought, the shower is in a small room that is just enough to leave your things and dry yourself. There is also a sink in the room, so that's very convenient, you don't have to keep the toilet busy for brushing teeth. Rooms are rather small, we were a couple in a room with 3 beds, so we could use one for keeping things, but it can get crowdy in a group of three. For a one night on the ring road it's absolutely enough, at least there's much room to cook some nice supper/breakfast. Beds quite comfy, no noises. We didn't really meet any staff members, auto check in and check out was easy, no parking issues.

Our host, Kristin, was very thoughtful & patient w/us during our late-arrival, and graciously let us stay a few hours later, so I could participate in a work meeting remotely. We really enjoyed our stay & highly recommend Myvo Studio apartment for your visit to the Myvatn area.

A great place to stay with a gracious host and a beautiful lake view. It even had a washer for our clothes which was much needed on our 2 week long journey through Iceland.
