Inexpensive and basic hotel very well located for the railway station. The receptionist, Laura, was very pleasant and helpful. The bedding and towels were clean. Good hotel particularly for a night in transit between ferries and trains. The station café and canteen are good places for breakfast and dinner.

Tutto Perfetto, soprattutto la pulizia impeccabile.
We came a day before our ferry trip to Split. In town, we liked the feel of this working city. We found different food then we had been eating which was fun and spent some time in the square. We ate greek gyros and hamburgers which were a nice change up from pasta and pizza.Next time I come for a ferry I would either go to the ferry ticket office to pick up copies of my ticket as soon as I got off the train (it is close by). If I am staying in a hotel, I would go to the port, find the 20 bus to take you to get your tickets and then return on the bus. The walk to the ticket center from town was difficult and at times without sidewalks.

None of my American friends have ever heard if Ancona, but I'd go back in a heartbeat. It's an important port city and is surprisingly picturesque. There's lots of variety - the harbor, the beach the churches on hills, lively palazzi, many restaurants. And so much history. Renting a bike is a great way to get around given many historical sites are on very steep hills.

Ancona may not be an obvious holiday destination, but there's a scruffy charm to it that I like, and there's enough to do here for a couple of days. It's also a good base from which to explore the Marche region of Italy - I used trains and buses to do full-day and half-day trips to numerous interesting towns during my ten-night. (Smaller villages would require a car.)

Ancona in winter is not a tourist destination, but for those who want to experience small town Italy it has much to offer. I would recommend a visit if you are already familiar with the country. The tourist office map has 4 walks which take you around the centre. The Mole has a wonderful museum where blind, partially sighted and curious people can touch all the sculpture casts. Ancona is well connected by bus and train. The Friday market was fascinating.

Very interesting port city with a charming, historic old town. View from the cathedral perched on one promontory is magnificent… and the walk back down through the ancient streets is interesting: friendly people, good and some great restaurants serving local specialties. The Marche wines from the area are a joy to discover.

We used Ancona as an overnight stay to break up a long train ride, in hindsight we would have kept travelling to our destination. Ancona harbour and old town are worth a visit, especially the Centro old part. Our accommodation was some 30 minutes walk from Centro, the walk took in some lovely views, although steep in parts. Our accommodation was only 10 minutes walk from the train station and was quite ok to stay in, the breakfast was very nice.
this was a stopover hotel for us on the long drive from Greece back to the UK. driving and arriving at the end of the day and tired, this hotel fired me up with its location near the pebbly beaches around Ancona, as well as a delightful pool. But it is the facilities that are superb. Outstanding restaurant, brilliant dinner (probably the best of our long holiday) and an amazing breakfast that will stay forever in the memory
The room was very comfy and clean, breakfast was good. Location is fantastic- 5 minutes from train station and all bus stops, 5 minutes to beach, 3 minutes to market. While Il Verde Pino is located at suburbs of Ancona, there is a quick bus connection with the city and Anocona main train station from where you can also easily travel to other nice places or other regions of Italy. Nearby beach is not crowded.
The place was right at the heart of ancona. Gave a very authentic italian feel and was perfect for a four day trip for a couple of teenagers. Was very close to a useful bus stop that enabled us to get from the accomodation to the beach/airport. There was always food in the kitchen although i would suggest waking up early if you want breakfast.
Nice hotel, clean with very friendly personnel. It is located up in a hill with a view looking at the Harbor. Near the city center, the place is ideal for a short stay in Ancona before taking the ferry. I will certainly stay again!
Nice and complete breakfast with all standard things available. And an excellent Italian coffee!
Breakfast was excellent as were the servers at breakfast. The location was excellent. The hotel itself was quite beautiful. It was an authentic mid century modern with great art and furnishings. We had a lovely spacious room with a private balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very very clean.
The room was fine. the Italians make the vest beds ever. Really firm… not far off a Japanese futon. A firm mattress is the best for any spine; injured or not. The English seem to love sleeping on these ridiculous spring sponges!! dreadful. And I’m English. had the best nights sleeps ever whilst touring Italy.
The owner was very friendly! We bought some local olive oil as a souvenir. Breakfast was good (mainly sweet items though, as usual in Italy). We also enjoyed the pool and the general surroundings. It's a very nice place to walk around in the early morning.
Being on the beach was great. Chairs were available for rent, the snack bar was adequate. Towels were available from the front desk.
The hotel restaurant was very good, with an interesting salad bar and excellent service.
Great hotel, stuff speaks very well english. Very good breakfast. Everything is perfectly clean. Location is also very good, next to the train station and the bus stations from where you can go to any part of Ancona.
We loved the terrace. When at the apartment, we spent most of our waking time there. The rest of the apartment was adequate and well supplied. If we owned an apartment in Ancona, it would be just like this one!
Beautiful hotel with a view on the Adriatic. The rooms were brand new and in pristine condition, extremely clean and close to the port. The breakfast was typical continental which I always like.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable accomodations. Good location. Great value for money. After returning from several nights in 4 star hotels we were quite happy with this budget accommodaton.
the hotel is located in the center of ancona -a very nice area .Acces to bus station is near the hotel. Nearby is piazza Cavour where a buses for Marche region are starting.
could not find this hotel in time for check in as flight was delayed. Couldnt contact them as the website got hacked and i didnt trust it. Midnight and no help was given
Very nice, clean hotel. Easy to find. With parking space. Good breakfast. Big room and big bed. And very close to ferry port Ancona.
The very friendly staff.
The hotel is modern, clean, and in a good location. It had a comfortable bar and restaurant. The breakfast was better than most that we have encountered.
