Lovely staff - I felt looked after. The location is splendid - right near the boats quai for the islands and the park. There is a cafe/restaurant opposite with a view of the lake and surprisingly good food - great for a no fuss dinner. I love this kind of traditional Italian hotel - well kept, well run

I like the location of the town, the vibrant character of the town with its bustling shops and terrific collection of restaurants including a handful that are Michelin-recommended (but not starred YET).
I like the size of the town- not too big, not too small, totally walkable and easy to learn your way around!
A most beautiful location, on the wester shore of Lake Maggiore with snow capped Italian and Swiss alps visible on the horizons above the lake in early to mid may, and best (ferry) access to the 3 nearby Borromean islands, two with their beautiful tourable Palace and Gardens (Isola Madre and Isola Bella) and one for its shops and eateries ( Isla Pescatori aka Superiore).
Restaurant prices are ridiculously affordable compared to Milan or Switzerland: a foodie heaven. Michelin-listed restaurants (not yet "starred to my knowledge) serve exceptional and genuine regional fare, my favorites were Al Vicoletto, Ristorante Pizzeria Pappagallo, Lo Stornello, and the one we didn't have a chance to reach but will next time is on the hills above Stresa with the views called La Rampolina.
If you are a wine lover or foodie, be sure to stop by the La Cambusa Wine shop for a free tasting and learn the owner's secret favorites!

Stresa is a beautiful town with lovely walks along the lake.
Stresa is a beautiful town with lovely walks along the lake. The apartment was comfortable and beautifully decorated and well equipped for our stay. The train was about a 10 minute walk and has easy access to Milan and also to Switzerland. It was very quiet when we went and perhaps will visit when busier as some thing were still closed such as two of the islands but it was early in the year before the season began. The lake and views are stunning and well worth a visit, nicer than stayin in Milan city centre.

A very picturesque town right on the water.
A very picturesque town right on the water. However most restaurants were closed in February, the shops were closed on Monday and there was very little to do except take the ferry to Isola Pescatore and Isola Madre. After travelling further around the Lake I would stay next time at Arona. Much busier little town with lots of restaurants and shops open. As well as being on the Lake.

Nice atmosphere and charming town center. One of the best gelaterias !!! Great restaurants and nice to just hang out.
The Borromean Islands and the hermitage Santa Caterina are great places to visit - or you can go to the other side of the lake, even the Swiss part
Overall, people are very friendly

Proximity to the lake was excellent.
Proximity to the lake was excellent. Majority of restaurants very good, some pricier than others of course but several with sensible prices. The food on the whole was excellent and plenty of it. The owners of the restaurants and their staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. the fish featured prominently on all the menus and was excellent and fresh.

Not very much to do historically - BUT wonderful for restaurants, ice cream shops, views of the lake. A really good centre for a holiday on Lake Maggiore. Great to be able to go from there by boat to the islands very conveniently. There is also a railway station which is very handy.
A very comfortable, cozy and quiet property that retains the charm of hotels as they used to be. The staff was very polite and accommodating. Each morning’s breakfast was a carefully laid out spread of everything a breakfast should be and dinners there were very adequate and enjoyable affairs. The property is well maintained and a mere 100 meters from the water taxi pier that provides transportation to Isola Madre, Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatore - the Borromean islands and the highlight of any trip to Stresa and Lake Maggiore.
We were completely blown away by this incredibly beautiful hotel. Breakfast was extensive, with lovely tables overlooking the lago, wonderful pools and spa/wellness center in glass pavillion is brand new and included in your stay, staff is perfect, we cannot find enough nice things to say. Our family plans to return as often as possible for a truly relaxing experience - not to mention the very cute town of Stresa.
The hotel is in an old building right in the middle of Stresa. Even though it overlooks the street, we couldn’t hear any noise through the night and the shutters kept the sunlight out in the morning. It’s a very short walk from Stresa pier for the ferry. The reception is actually in the restaurant but the staff were very friendly and able to balance our requests.
The Staff were fantastic - always very friendly and welcoming. A real asset to the hotel.
Pool area was nice and quiet, - pool recently refurbished and was very nice. Breakfast basic but good, - again staff very attentive and friendly.
The hotel is in a good location, close to the Lido boat piers and 10 - 15 min walk from the town of Stresa
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Right in the centre of Stresa with no noise either in the apartment or on the balcony. This place is very clean with plenty of space for two people, nice balcony, wonderful hosts (thank you Georgio and family) and most importantly it is great value compared to staying in a hotel.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff - across the board. Full service hotel- with a smile. Centrally located just across the street from Lake Maggiore. Close to all the cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. Secure covered hotel parking just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Everything.A second visit proved all our great recollections of this hotel were true. The setting is incomprable, the hotel staff are warm and helpful, the rooms are very comfortable and the restaurant and service are top grade. We hope to return another time.
This is a beautiful character hotel, with hotel staff who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We had a beautiful room with balcony, overlooking Stresa. The hotel is very well located to walk to town and to ferry terminals.
Location. Clean facilities. Helpful staff. Rooftop Sky Bar with pool area was exceptional with a spectacular view of the lake. Beach pool across the road from the Hotel was perfect. Great breakfast.
Stunning views. Room was not huge but well appointed. The breakfast was the best offering I’ve ever had at a hotel. Go hungry because there are a million options!
