It's an amazing hotel sited on top of a hill overlooking on one side Lake Toya and on the, a bay being part of Sea of Japan and one has a 360° view of the entire valley lake and mountains including of Mt Yotei in the distance. Its also a beautiful n lavishly appointed hotel and one of its many claims to fame is being the site of a G8 Summit hotel in 2008. It has many lovely restaurants, a great onsen plus a nice golf course to boot. Locals regard this hotel as Hokkaido's most prestigious hotel, and one can fully understand once you stay there. The staff are so professional and courteous fm the doorman to everyone you come into contact as they all seem so conscious they have a very high reputation to maintain as The Top hotel in the region. Impeccable service, particularly from staff member Honma. The buffet offered a wide array of options. The Hokkaido beef for dinner and Ochazuke for breakfast were noteworthy.

Very cozy and pleasant stay. Initially I had an issue getting replies to my questions over email, probably due to language barrier, but after reaching the hotel, everything was fantastic - from free shuttle service from Toya station, assistance to book cab to my destinations, clear fireworks from room, large room size, clean facilities, everything was perfect. Stay was very comfortable and very very good.

Onsen has 3 levels with the top level having partial outside view. Onsen has amenities for bathing. Hotel near Lake Toya and within short walking distance to the waterfront. On a non-cloudy day, able to see the stars in the sky. Bus stop near hotel has bus going to Mt Usu. Beware that you will still need to walk quite a distance (uphill about 2/3 of the way) to Mt Usu ropeway from the alighting bus stop. So if walking uphill is an issue, it is better to go there by taxi or drive.
