From picking us up from our train to helping us with dinner bookings and ski rentals, Julian, Tomoko, and staff were all exceptionally helpful and friendly. A big breakfast was the perfect way to start the day, with the baths a great way to unwind after a day on the slopes. Easily accessible to 2 great resort areas just out the door. We ate dinner there nearly every night and it was a great way to experience amazing Japanese food.

The location for this property is why we choose it- since we only had 3 days for skiing and it was a ski in ski out hotel. The challenge was that there wasn’t much else to choose from to eat- except their buffet style expensive restaurant. We almost paid the same amount for the food as for the room. The room itself was pretty cool with a Japanese style tatami mats and lounge area, but the beds were very old and mattresses were horrible. But we were so tired from skiing we didn’t care. The onsen was the highlight of the property and had incredible views of the mountain.

Great location and clean for a fairly old hotel. Right on the Norikura side of the slopes. Ski out the a chair lift. This is where the locals go, so nice experience and very friendly staff with good facilities for skiing including ski locker near exit to slopes.

One of my favorite ski resorts in all of Japan is in Otari!!
One of my favorite ski resorts in all of Japan is in Otari!! Tsugaike Kogen. Gorgeous nature, awesome slopes, lots of shops nearby and the ski resort's infrastructure is great!! And you can stay at Hotel La Vista, the best place to stay around Tsugaike, right in front of the lifts.

It is a small village.
It is a small village. There are only a few restaurants to choose from, so if you stayed here a week you would need a car or to take a taxi to eat at some new restaurants. It is close to the Taugaike gondola. We liked skiing Tsugaike and Iwatake because there were nice long runs without moguls connected to high speed lifts. I might stay in Exholand or near Happo-One and then plan on busing to either of these resorts. I’m an intermediate skier, but older and do not care for mogul skiing or real extreme conditions.

Otari is a great place to Ski, Snowboarding and some hiking.
Otari is a great place to Ski, Snowboarding and some hiking. It is prepared to receive foreign people since almost everywhere you can speak English (I am assuming that Chinese as well since I heard a lot of Chinese in the streets).
It is next to Hakuba, you can find good powder snow and different levels of skiing resort.
The staff is helpful and warm. The room is clean and quiet.
It locates at the side of the beginner slope of Tsugaike Goen Ski and offers ski-in ski-out entrance and a dry room. Just note that if u ski down from the top, make sure the end-of-service time of romance lift. You have to climb a small 5 meters hill if u missed the last run of that lift and ski the beginner slope to the hotel.
And sometimes the snow course to the hotel is too powdery and a beginner may lack of the ability to ski to the hotel.
Jason is the best host ever. He'd been extremely helpful throughout our 5 days trip. Providing travel direction to the apartment beforehand, how to get around in the Hakuba and Otari area, restaurant location, snow sport information, etc. The 2 stories apartment was super clean, and you'd have a cozy feeling the minute you enter the door. The Cortina course is right in front of the apartment. Definitely one of the best experiences we had among all our ski trips.
The hotel is located on the next to ski slope. everything is minimal style, room decoration, lobby and breakfast. if your plan is the accommodation for the ski only this hotel is totally appropriate to you.
The staffs are very helpful and fluent in English they help us to carry our luggages from parking lot to the lobby cause the hotel cannot park at the front of the lobby.
All in one accomodation, has 2 very good restaurants inside. Free shuttle bus that takes you anywhere around the area. Very good continental breakfast. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Ski gear rental place reception inside that will organise to take you and back to the fitting place. Can just leave equipment if you hire with Rythm at the hotel’s boot room.
Loved the location with how close the parking was to the hotel, and from the hotel to the ski lifts. The drying room made it very easy for all of the gear to be ready the next day. Since it is a relatively new hotel, some taxi services didn’t know where it was, but the staff were happy to help with any translation or reservation making.
Location amazing, close to Tsugaike gondola. It's a good idea to choose here instead of Happo One since buses from train station run frequently and stop nearby. The hotel has a cozy restaurant with delicacies made with local ingredients. Room was simple but had everything you need for a snow trip, including a unit bath
Great location adjacent to the ski slopes and nearby restaurants. As close to ski-in, ski-out as crossing the road. The hosts had recently purchased the hotel and were keen to provide a memorable customer experience. The included breakfast set us up for the day's skiing and the dinner option was excellent.
The location is near with Tsugaike Ski Park (maybe walking around 5-10 minutes).
Breakfast is good. For dinner need to make reservation one day earlier. Have big place to park your car. They provide cleaning tools for snow also. Good hotel.
the english speaking staff is very helpful. breakfast good. provides free coffee, tea and water 24 hours. two minutes walk from ski lift. free car park. unlike most japanese style hotels, bath is in service 24 hours.
Tatami room has lots of space.Few meters away from the ski lifts and bus station. Convenience store just opposite the hotel. Ski and snowboard rentals just below the hotel. Dry room with private locker.
The location is super close to the slope as well as the shuttle bus station. Staff are very friendly, making me feel like at home. Meals are traditional Japanese food which is tasty.
Location is great for skiers, rooms are clean and very spacious for a family of 3. Hotel staffs speaks English and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic but good enough.
Great location within metres of Tsugaike gondola and bus stops. Nice onsen/public baths and sauna at the hotel. The room was very clean. Private but very small bathroom.
