Nice little boutique hotel. The room was comfortable and a good size and the onsite Japanese restaurant was excellent. The roof terrace with bar was lovely and romantic in the evening. Special thanks to Nuwan for going out of his way to ensure that we were happy, comfortable and had everything that we needed.

Malabe is a busy semi-urban area, just far enough from the really busy crowded streets of Colombo to enable visitors to walk along lanes and between paddy fields, and get a taste of life in Sri Lanka outside of the city. Nearby, the small marsh, the "Chandrika Kumarathunga Mawatha Wetland" - beside a canal and well-cared-for "jogging track" - offers a lovely selection of bird life and glimpses of the huge water monitors swimming in the canal. To see even more wildlife of Sri Lanka, spend a couple of days inland visiting Sinharaja Rainforest or Yala National Park for a safari.
