It was a very nicely arranged place. Small chalets surrounded by tropical plants. Rooms were clean and tidy, with a bit of mustiness smell, but I guess it’s hard to avoid in high humidity. Hotel staff was very nice. I tried to get something vegan for breakfast but my attempts to explain this to the staff members failed (as in other places in Sri Lanka) so I ended up with a set breakfast menu. The pool area is also very nice. Overall this place has a very pleasant vibe.

Clean & fresh. No bad smells Staff were all lovely and tried so hard to please us. Ordered a Sri Lankan omelette & fries in the large restaurant which were great. Food served quickly… but we were the only guests. Supplied 2 bottles of water on 1st day but not on the 2nd day. Ceiling fan is quite Our room had a nice outlook over the pool area and garden Water pressure & temp are ok The rooms are large and spacious Nice enclosed terrace in front of the rooms with table and chairs Great quiet location. Only a short drive into the village for a meal or drinks and only 10 min drive to Lion Rock.

Our stay at Hotel ECHO was rather average. While there were a couple of things we liked, such as the hotel's location just a 3-minute walk from the Sigiriya rock entrance and the delicious dinner we had at the restaurant, the overall experience left much to be desired. The hotel itself is quite old and dirty, which was disappointing. While the room was of a good size, the bathroom was not up to standard and was also dirty. We had booked a twin room for myself and a friend, but upon arrival, we were given a king-size bed instead. This mix-up was further complicated by the fact that the person who checked us in did not speak English, making communication difficult and frustrating. Overall, while there were a couple of positives, our experience at Hotel ECHO was not great, and we won't be staying there again.

The host was so helpful about activities and best places to go! Recommended the BEST massage experience place in Sri Lanka so best you ask about it(20min drive from the stay but worth it!) The bedroom was spacious,clean and super comfortable with a kettle and fridge which is a great win on a trip! The AC worked like a dream. Breakfast included was big and set us up for the day! The location is fantastic as you could literally walk 50m and you were at all the restaurants in the little town!

Roshan and Rita where really nice Hosts. They organized a Driver for us to Guide us to several sights and to our next Destination. Rooms and Pool where really nice and Clean. It was awesome to chill in the Pool an watch the Monkeys play in the tree next to it. They offered a late Check Out for free and organized a babycod for our Baby - they are very childfriendly. The staff was really friendly and fast and the Breakfast was way to much for 2 persons to eat :)

    The hotel is located on a place which has a great view, the staff is very friendly and supplied everything we need. There was a bathtub, sugar, coffee packets, and also there was a minibar for every room. The breakfast was excellent.

    So much to do and see! 3 nights is plenty, but easy to fill it! Climb the rock, absolutely do a village tour; go for a herbal massage (but prepare for a different kind of massage to normal!); and go on safari! We had a driver which made getting around super easy, but there are countless tuktuks you can rent.

    Excellent natural landmark with lush forest surroundings. But climb up is overhyped. Only the view from top is extraordinary. On the contrary climb up the adjacent Pidurangala Rock has more rewarding view of the main Rockmass in the afternoon/sunset

    It was a very expensive entry fee to the rock, USD32 per person. The guides around the base are very persistent and can become a nuisance. We had a good tuk tuk ride round the base, which was lovely and booked privately, oh and it's perfectly ok to haggle on the price. Plenty of local cafes and juice bars. Fab place was The Green Hut Hotel, just 10 mins walk from Lion Rock, lovely rooms, great English speaking host and super food. Local temple worth a 15 minute look see. Tuk tuks everywhere and good value. Safari to Minneriya was great, saw loads of elephants.

    Three nights, i.e. two days are perfect: half a day for each - elephant-safari in Minneriya National Park - Dambulla cave temples - Sigiriya rock - Polonnaruwa, the ancient capital But you need a taxi or tuktuk to get around.

    We spend one night here.

    We spend one night here. Depending on what you want to do it was plenty of time. We arrived in the early afternoon checked into our accommodation and went to Dambulla Cave Temple. The following morning we got up before sunrise to climb Lion Rock, which despite what people say, is worth it. The fee was acceptable for us since it is a UNESCO site. After the hike we had breakfast and made our way further south.

    What a wonderful location!

    What a wonderful location! The pool was a true blessing after our exhausting flight, and the environment is quite soothing. Asanka's meal was incredibly delicious. The personnel was really helpful!

    We had such a lovely stay at Shady Mango Villa! The room we had was huge, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and included eggs, pancakes, fruit, yogurt and toasties and the location is a close walk to a few great restaurants and a short drive to Sigiriya and Pidurangala. The family are so sweet, kind and accommodating and made us feel very at home - Sunil has a tuk tuk and is a tour guide so took us to Dambulla Cave Temple and Pidurangala Rock. Thank you again for such a lovely stay 🥰

    This place is a gem! Lovely setting, peaceful and immersed in Sigiriya's nature. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are beautiful and the view from the balconies is really unique. The price is a little high, but considering the location and the facilities, we found this to be 100% justified. If you're lucky, wild elephants might be spotted at night not far from the hotel! Food at the restaurant was good too, which is a plus considering there aren't many options to dine out around Sigiriya's rock.

    Great location, next to everything in Sigiriya. The first night, we didn’t see we booked a room without AC, so it was really difficult since it was almost 35 degres Celsius during the day. But the next morning, we asked our host to change room (with the normal supplement) and it was much better. Also, we asked our host to book for us a taxi from the airport, and also the next days to visit Polonnaruwa and Dambulla. It was great, Lionel and his nephew (our drivers) are such nice people, we loved them

    Very nice family, Amal and his wife Sabita were so kind. Big and clean rooms, hot water. Sabita is a good cook and we‘ve had the best chicken and pumpkin curry! Sigiriya rock is very close and easy to reach from this place. They were very helpful, they organised a national park tour for us and drove us to Dambulla in their car (1000LKR). Also we rented a scooter from Amals brother and when we‘ve had an flat tire they were very nice and gave us an extra day for free.

    The surrounding was so calming. The room was clean. The staff was kind enough to upgrade our room to a deluxe room free of charge. The dinner and breakfast both were tasty. The biggest plus point is the gigantic pool. The pool was clean as well. We visited the Sigiriya lion’s rock in the morning and got a little late to cone back to the hotel to checkout. However, the staff was friendly enough to accommodate our concern and allowed us a late checkout for free. Kudos!

    The property was clean and spacious, the rooms have fans and aircon and the bathroom is modern and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful and also provided me with a transfer to Kandy on short notice. Breakfast is included in the price and it is the best breakfast I’ve had in any Sri Lanka hotel. The property is located well, it is near local restaurants and the local village as well as walking distance to the Sigiriya Rock.

    Amazing place and amazing people! The owner, Loku, is very friendly and location is great too, quiet and not far from every attraction. He provides transportation, food, safari, herbal and spice garden visit. If you need anything, you'll get it. Room was spacious and clean, I really loved my stay there. It feels like home, best local experience in Sigiriya. Fully recommended for couples, solo travelers and families. See you next time!

    Fantastic hotel. Very friendly and gentle staff. Very spacious room and bathroom, all spotless clean. Communal balcony where every room has its own private table right outside their door. An excellent breakfast will be brought to these tables. Sigiriya is a very nice village to hang out in, and with the lodge being so nice, I would have liked to stay longer if it wasn't for the poor WiFi.

    Wonderful family run hotel set in a beautiful large garden full of wildlife! The room was large, clean and an extremely comfy large bed.     Sat Nam Village was perfect for what we wanted, a relaxed, quiet, rural place to stay near Sigiriya. It's location was perfect for getting to the Sigiriya Lion Rock. The food was incredible, and everyone was so helpful. We loved the deck chairs at the back of each cabin, a perfect spot to read after climbing the Lion Rock.

    Good location. Stunning view. Helpful staffs. Confortable room. Surrounded by nature. Best rice and curry in Sigiriya. Our driver was coming late in the morning and he did not answer my call, the staff of this hotel went to find him by bicycle.

    The view of Lions Rock is truly special. We stayed at another hotel during our time in Sigiriya too and can confirm that Hotel Sigiriya has the best view! There is also a lovely spa on site and a nice communal lounge area.

    Great location, but very old and not renovated hotel. Exterior of building, room view and monkeys on the trees was the best in this hotel. The dinner & breakfast were ok.

    Beautiful bush hotel with great facilities. The rooms were clean and spacious. Very close to Sigirya Lion's rock, Pidurangala Minneriya park and Dambulla temple cave.
