Ciudad Valles is a good home base if you want to travel to...
Ciudad Valles is a good home base if you want to travel to the surrounding waterfall of Tamul. There is everything you would expect to find in a bigger city such as restaurants, bars, hospitals, etc. Many people stay here when traveling around to see the different waterfalls in the Huasteca region. I would recommend staying closer to whichever place you will be in, since it can be about 1-3 hour drive from Ciudad Valles to each different area; however.. some of these other areas are smaller towns and don’t have the things I mentioned previously. My favorite spot to stay in is Hostel Casa Huasteca, favorite place to eat is El Wacal, which is right around the corner from the hostel. Locals advise against going out at night.

Good location, for those on a long trip may visit on the way this city which has amazing San Luis Potosi coffee at Jacalito Café, may purchase good quality organic products at Raices, or find vegetarian mexican food and vegan smoothies at Kubos Jugos.

Love the city, everything is in walking distance, downtown is colorful and they offer very yummy food. The bars and night entertainment are cool, very unique All the natural attractions like waterfall and natural sightseeing are withing 40 min driving or less

Quiet moderate sized city. It's a great base for the surrounding nature... waterfalls, Xilitla Surrealist Gardens, river sports. Easy bus ride from airport in Tampico. The motor coach was comfortable and showed a dvd on the 3 hour ride. Tacos Rojos are a specialty of the region... delicioso!AAnonymousUnited States of America

They immediately contacted an adventure tour agency, and we were able to arrange a visit to waterfalls, which included some canoeing on the river. The included breakfast offered a lot of options. And the manager, Omar, is the best manager and ready to help with any concerns. There is no better internet in Ciudad Valles. A great option for digital nomads. And the rooftop terrace is amazing. And my TV was huge. For price, convenience, and quality, this is the best place. And perfect if you have a car. Really safe parking.

Each morning, we were greeted and offered coffee to begin our day. Highly recommend!!
