Nice location to sleep in if you want to visit a part of Sognefjord. The room was big and we had also our private terrace and parking area. There are two resturants nearby, a shop, the viking village and the point of departure of the cruise on the fjord.

This is a nice hotel with a "rustic" feel, all wooden finishings. The room is comfortable and clean. Perfect for overnight stay in Flåm. The staff was super friendly. Breakfast was good, at an adjoining restaurant.
Myrkdalen Mountain Resort offer hotel rooms and self-catering apartments with direct access to the ski slopes of Myrkdalen Ski Resort in Voss. Central Voss with its train station is 30 km away.
This family-run hotel is located 100 metres from Aurlandsfjord’s waterfront. It is within 3 minutes’ walk of the Nærøyfjord Ferry Terminal and Aurlandsvangen Bus Stop.

Given that this is one of the few hotel and dinner options in town (captive market), it was very expensive but still very enjoyable. the room was spacious and had a great view. the breakfast/dinner area was lovely and the food wonderful. There is also a lovely outdoor space which means you don’t need a balcony per se. Staff very friendly and helpful with info about nearby hikes.
Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is located in the oldest buildings in the village of Aurland. Situated on the shores of Aurlandsfjord, it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

One of the best places we have stayed.
Beautiful place with an equally amazing set of owners and property managers.

A spectatular setting where you can just relax and soak up the magnificent scenery. Fire pits to keep you warm while you sit outside (with a drink). The staff were extremely friendly. Right next to jetty where you can pick up the fabulous, all electric, boat to Flam (which is also just a 15 minute car journey away). The Viking Village is a 3 minute walk away and well worth visiting - something we nearly dismissed but really pleased we didn't! Menu a little limited for those staying more than a few day but the food we did order was excellent. A unique and wonderful end to our dream holiday!

Nicely renovated comfortable no frills hotel in a quiet location, out of season. A shuttle bus or ferry made the journey into Flam easy.
The breakfast was buffet style, good choice of mixed cold meats and cheeses. The evening meals were disappointing, and expensive as you expect in Norway. Having said that if you are only staying a couple of days a good stop over hotel.

Location was the most + point of our stay.
Location was the most + point of our stay. Fjord was just a stones throw away. Other points and places were a drive distance and flam was reachable both via ferry and shuttle.
Food for vegetarians is a little problematic in hotel as the buffet served has less options for veggies. There is Shell fuel pump and Xtra store that has some quick foods.

Gudvangen offers a ton of scenery and not much else.
Gudvangen offers a ton of scenery and not much else. Our overnight stay was more than enough time to enjoy a dinner at the only place in town, a brief hike to the WWII bunkers the following morning and time at the Njardarheimr Viking Village for a few hours until our bus left for Voss in the afternoon. Everything is within walking distance.

We enjoyed the Viking Village at Gudvangen, and the view of the mountains and waterfalls was superb. We were able to purchase food items at the nearby Joker gas station, which was well-stocked with ready made/easily prepared foods. We didn't get to do the kayaking available there, but that would have added a bonus. A very nice town!
The location can't be beat! It is a very beautiful location with incredible views of 8 waterfalls, a walking path to Bakka and we had an amazing dinner at the Fish restaurant. The scenic tour from Flam to Gudvangen, a UNESCO world heritage site, is spectacular. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was outfitted for a couple of guests. Soap is in the shower and at the sink and there are plenty of towels. Lots of room to spread out and the pictures of the room are very accurate.
We loved everything about this property. The views from the room and the restaurants onto the idyllic setting were just amazing. The seafood dinner was wonderful, the staff were all lovely and friendly, the whole place had a great feel. My 91 year old mother didn’t want to leave. We had planned to stay 2 nights in Flåm and just one night in Gudvangen but ended up so pleased we had the 2 nights in Gudvangen (although Flåm was really nice too).
Location, location, location. Fantastic views on the mountains with views on 5+ waterfall’s and more if it has been raining, the camping grounds are spacious with a lot of grass, playing fields and the site is near the ferry to Kaupanger and the Flåm-railway. Very nice staff and a little cafe with a camp fire for guests.
Facilities were excellent and clean. The chalet has a covered porch for dining al fresco.
Excellent choice! I would go back 200 times if possible! Seafood restaurant is great, fish pot was one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life! Location is indescribable - (apart from the views that are spectacular, the buses and the cruise from Norway in a nutshell are in front of the hotel), staff super friendly and helpful, breakfast with a lot of options. The best hotel of my trip 🥹❤️
Fantastic location right by the fjord with ample parking. Comfortable and clean bedroom and shower. Some reception staff were very good at explaining things to do other than boat trips and viking village. Nice glass ceiling and walls in the dining area to see out onto the fjord and up at the waterfalls and mountains.
Accommodation (shabby attempt at being Viking style, probably would have done better without) was worn out, staff short handed and looked overworked and tired, food was lacklustre, room was really just for a clean bed and shower nothing more and nothing less. But was a good location for exploring Gudvangen.
I can't speak exactly for the budget hotel facilities because we were upgraded for free to the fjordhotell down the street (same owner). It was so nice, the room had a sky light you could see stars at night, from bed. All of the staff were so incredibly kind and the view all around were stunning!
The hotel is amazing! The facilities are great: nice towel and linen, amazing food from the restaurant, and the astonishing view of the fjords. But the best part of the hotel was the people, they were super friendly, nice and made us feel super comfortable.
I was upgraded to the Viking Suite and had an amazing stay. The staff was very friendly and guided me to the areas around the hotel. Due to winter, and the icy paths, the hotel staff warned us and informed us on the different routes we could take.
I booked for the Gudvangen Budget Hotel but upon arrival, I was given the viking theme room, which is good to get a free upgrade. The room is centrally located, with heated bathroom and have basic amenities such as kettle, coffee etc.
What an amazing hotel! There has been so much thought, love, and care put into this place. The most unique hotel I've ever been to, with some of the most gorgeous views in the world! And the Viking Valley is an absolute must-see!
Ideal location near the fjord and the viking village, clean shared bathrooms, sink and kettle in the room, fridge, microwave and washing machine available, large shared living room
The view is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is cozy, clean and new. The price is reasonable. The supermarket and gas station is nearby. Highly recommend.
The location is amazing and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious everyday and the staff is very friendly. Rene and his wife were amazing always willing to help.
