We loved our stay at Blackball's Inn, it has just the right amount of character, it's clean and tidy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The hosts are fabulous and very welcoming. They cooked us up a delicious meal, had home baking onsite and the barista coffee was spot on too!

The food was great. It was nice to have some vegan options on the menu - even a vegan meal of the day read out with the specials. The chef came out for a chat and was really friendly.
The accommodation was comfortable. The included breakfast had all the things you would expect and the bread was decent. Friendly service. Lots of history and information about the area on the walls. Good location in town, right next to the local museum which also has great info on where to go around town.

Its budget accomodation so don't expect too much. The building is old and somewhat run down, but I found the rooms to be quiet, heaters were provided so the room was warm, it was aged but clean, and the wifi was good.

We had a lovely welcome from the host. The accommodation was inexpensive. Its in a lovely building but in my opinion in need of some serious renovation.

We arrived after dark on a cold night to a warm room. Very clean and comfortable everything we needed.

A perfect spot to stay before starting the Paparoa Track. Staff were helpful, meals were lovely and the shared bathrooms were spotless! Single duvets tended to slip off bed as not enough tuck-in and only one reading light but beds were comfy, location was quiet so very satisfied with the room.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had dinner there which was super tasty. Excellent breakfast included in the price and a bonus if you are heading off to do the Paparoa Track as we were. Blackball itself is a cute wee town and worth a visit in itself.
