We were recommended to stay here by a local, and it was a good call. This is a popular venue for functions, meals and a drink, not just as a place to stay. We were accommodated in a very nice , quirky "olde worlde" style room with decent facilities. The grounds are special and scenic, particularly at sunset. Nice walks in the local area too.
The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. Dinner was excellent and the serving staff on the ball. After our hearty dinner, the complimentary DIY breakfast was all we needed.
The bar is very convivial with friendly locals making us feel at home, indeed it was hard to get away! We wish we'd stayed for longer. Highly recommended and we'd certainly stay here again.

Nelson is a lovely town, with beautiful hanging baskets and old, unique architecture, close to Tahunanui beach, which is lovely. The Saturday market is great and wandering around Nelson town is fun, there are some good small specialty shops. I enjoyed the museum and the Suter Art Gallery and Queens Gardens. Takaka is a must for those who love alternative shops and lovely radiant people. Lake Arnaud is worth a visit. A wine lovers dream area. Harvest resturant was the highlight of the trip. Stunning location service and food.

The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent.
The Art and Crafts I saw were excellent. The Suter Gallery was a highlight, and I enjoyed the Cathedral. I really enjoyed the walk up to "the centre of N.Z" and the views from there. I had some very good food and liked looking at the architecture - e.g the villas and transitional villas in The Brook. Founders Park and Miyazu Japanese Garden were great. Also, having a craft beer at "The Free House", a church that has been converted into a drinking place( and painted with fun colours) was wonderful.

Friendliness and facilities were so nice.We had a lovely balcony with table and chairs.Near the beach.The lady I Ispoke to on the phone requesting a bath also came to greet us and she remembered me from our phone call and said enjoy your bath you deserve it. She must have remembered when I spoke to her previously we were going to be tired as we had come from a month of entertaining friends and family. This got us off to a great start.Then we were so happy to see how lovely our unit was.A Wonderful stay

Nelson is a fantastic place, it reminds us of all the good things of days gone by. And Avner's bnb is a very special place, the views, the eco environment and the cosy but luxurious feel. The little kitchen area was a great extra so we could eat in on the first evening and watch the sun go down. We won't forget our great weekend in Nelson.

Fresh flowers 💐 fresh fruit bowl, Easter eggs etc. This beautiful little apartment is located in the heart of the city and is so accessible to everything. Everything was in walking distance for restaurants, shopping, buses and of course the Market. We felt like we were in our own little paradise. Thanks so much Hamish, we would both absolutely stay again. I will definitely recommend to family and friends who are heading to Nelson.

Spacious motels suites, ours had a separate little office. Nice older quieter suburban type area.
