We loved the Villa! Diane runs such a beautiful, cozy, boutique hotel! Arturo and the entire staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our stay comfortable. The only downside is that the shower water was lukewarm...however, I'm not letting them lower my rating because I almost expect that in more remote places like this. Just wanted to make note in case that is something that would really bother you. But to me, that's travel...not everything is always perfect but the Villa is about as close as you can get! The food is delicious, drinks so yummy and the view can't be beat!

Dave and his staff were awesome! Worth spending some quiet nights out there instead of just day tripping like most people who visit the island.

The place is great, slightly secluded and quiet, nice walking distance from places to get steps in. The room was spacious and super comfortable. The shower was an unexpected gem, great pressure and sensitive to whatever temp chosen

Location was the only agreeable point of this hotel… we needed to be close to the Flamenco Marina as we were slipping lines at 3.00am

The food is good there. I do like the breakfast. It has changed hands in the last year or so and the relaxed vibe is gone. But overall not bad. Just not as good as it was.

A nice getaway from the city, there are relaxing spots and party spots. You can walk the whole island in no time or take a golf cart where you want to go. Overall the island is very dirty though and might not be the right vibe for some. Most of the beaches have trash everywhere and many trash containers overflow. Folks will tell you the trash come from the city but there is plenty generated here on the island. Honda beach seems a bit cleaner but when the tide comes in about 90% of the beach disappears. For a good meal in and a fantastic view visit Villa Capriocha, its costs a bit more bet definately worth it.

I advise to stay min for 2 nights as it is truly different when all "one day tourists" come and go and you have all island to yourself. The city itself is faced the sunrise so you can start you day early and enjoy it and till 10 am there will be few people and the crowd mainly leave at 15:45, hence you back to quite again.
Although not many restaurant are opened after 19:30 but you can always enjoy your drink on the beach to in the hotel + to be in quite with yourself.

The island has a lot of potential for tourism.
The island has a lot of potential for tourism. Right now they need to invest more in their beach facilities, maybe a better "food court" or food area with better chairs and tables. Also they need to make sure visitors pick up their trash after them.

The beach is lovely...its worth walking along the sandbar and rest on / near the little island. Lots of cheap food and drink on offer at the beach and some shopping. A few other good places to eat near ferry point. I loved Mundi's. Evening options limited. This is really a beach and walking location (if you start early in the day...Hot!). There is limited offer for food, drink, shopping. But thats the beauty of the place.....

Taboga is a lovely spot for soaking up the sun.
Taboga is a lovely spot for soaking up the sun. It's only 30mins ferry -$24 return- from Panama City and charming. If you are doing a day trip make sure you have booked your return in advance particularly on the weekends when it is a big hit with locals too.

Taboga Island was very relaxing and quiet.
Taboga Island was very relaxing and quiet. My favorite place to go there was the cafe in the church plaza. Also, on low tide, you can lounge on the beach that stretches to the small island nearby. Unfortunately, most of the restaurants and water activities do not open every day or sometimes at all on the days that they are supposed to be open. It can be hard to find food at night so it is a good idea to make reservations at the callaloo restaurant. And make sure that your hotel is not next to a chicken coop because of the noise. We had a very positive experience staying on the island. We went for a very long hike and got lost on the way down but it was very worth it for the view. It was very nice to get out of the city and go to the beach on Taboga Island. The ferry that takes you to the island for $10 each way is called tabogaexpress and they also do snorkeling tours. They are very friendly and were so accommodating to us. It was a great experience!
The property is certainly one of the nicest on the island— all of which are no frills. The location cannot be beat! The photos are a great representation of the actual property, so there were no surprises. Outside of the gorgeous views and outdoor area (pool, hammock, dining), the staff is truly what sets this property apart from the others. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. I felt like I was visiting family!!! And you MUST have breakfast — best eggs and biscuits I have ever had!
Very much enjoyed my stay here. Dave is helpful and knows how to make cocktails.
The hotel is one minute from the pier and has nice pool great for swimming or just relaxing. Two beaches are near by.
In the front of the hotel is small restaurant worth to visit. (they are open only during the day)
The place was spotless and my bathroom felt like 5* hotel. The hotel use filtered water and my skin felt soft even after spending time in the pool.
Lovely place.
We loved this hotel! It was the last stop of our 10 day visit to Panama. Our hosts, Cynthia and Hiddo were very helpful. We upgraded to the suite and had a wonderful view of the bay. The plunge pool was very refreshing. We had Cynthia's awesome pizza one night, delish! Cold drinks were offered to us as soon as we checked in. Hiddo prepared a lovely breakfast for us on our last day. I highly recommend the Cerrito Tropical Eco Lodge.
Really relaxing outdoor area with different seating options, hammocks and a small plunge pool. Made us stay an another day just for relaxing.
It is a quite steep hike the last 100 m to the hotel, but if you are reasonably fit it is no problem.
The room had a working aircondition and fan. The beds were not too comfortable, found them quite hard.
Breakfast good, with fresh fruit.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful retreat. I stayed in the Crown Jewel suite and it was as amazing as I had hoped. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and Arturo went above and beyond to help with whatever was needed. The grounds are beautiful and I have already recommended this hotel to everyone I know. Will definitely be coming back soon!
The hotel is conveniently situated close to the pier were one arrives from the ferry. This is a well maintained hotel and it looks new and of a more than acceptable standard. The pool is more like a plunge pool, but with a scenic view of the beach and surrounding islands. The police station is across from the entrance of the hotel, so no issues with security.
Our stay here made our trip to Panama! The hotel is so beautiful, the room is very comfortable and the view is amazing. Dave ( the owner) is the nicest man, and it is so wonderful to talk to.He and his staff went out of their way to make my birthday in Taboga, one I will never forget! By far, this is the best hotel in every way on the island!
A beautiful property on a tranquil island only 40 minutes from bustling Panama City. Beautifully decorated and appointed, this hotel is a great get away. With its restaurant, Villa Caprichosa is the only place you need to go in Taboga. But visit the town and enjoy its laid back charms.
My fiancé and I have been here before and we absolutely love Villa Caprichosa, especially the crown jewel suite. It’s where he chose to propose! It’s so unbelievably beautiful. The staff are so professional and so helpful.
The place was absolutely stunning - a gorgeous little island with such friendly and humble people.
The hotel was one of the nicest I've stayed in. Delicious breakfast.
Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful hotel and room with private terrace, relaxing pool environment from which to watch the world go by. Very helpful staff and chatting with Diane (the owner) made us feel very welcome.
The place is beautiful, well maintained. The view is wonderful. The staff is very friendly. I think the food prices are a little too high. Other than that, I really recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was good (though charge extra $2 for things like bacon etc which is strange. Dinner good. Beautiful and interesting view (ships waiting for Panama Canal). A special hotel
No restaurant service at the hotel but numerous restaurants within walking distance. Coffee and tea provided in your room and full service bar in the hotel. Great staff and host.
