Way exceeded our expectations, and it’s an excellent value. Rooms were impeccable, large, and very comfortable. The property is very well kept up and beautifully landscaped, has great views, and a great place for families to explore. Nice gym and good breakfast were both really appreciated as well. The property is in an incredible location. The staff and the service is great: Nancy our guide, Mauricio our driver and the concierges who always helped us to find the best logistics.
The fact that the Hiram Birgham train leaves directly from the hotel is a huge plus! (Avoiding the bimodal service).

It is my second stay at La Casona de Yucay, and my third visit there in 2023 (after 2 nights in 2018 and 2022 just visiting the place). Its location is very good, the rooms nice with big windows, clean and cozy. All staff are wonderful people, always very helpful and making you feel 'at home'. We stayed for 10 nights in total (3 nights and 7 nights) as we were hiking, resting, online working. I also has its very own charm with its architecture and beautiful gardens. We always moved in the micro buses to Urubamba or other places in the valley. I loved staying at Casona de Yucay, it is a magical place. I will come back.

The best way for not getting soroche or altitude sickness is to drive straight from the airport to the Sacred Valley and stay there at least the first 3 days of your stay in Cusco. This is the best way to get your body used to such a high altitude and avoid getting sick. Urubamba has great restaurants and hotels all around, so there’s plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. The weather is much warmer and nicer than Cusco and it’s a great hub for visiting the ruins around the place.

Urubamba is the perfect base from which to explore the Sacred Valley. It's also a quieter, less overtouristed alternative to Cuzco. Visitors can walk clear across town without being stopped by touts every few steps, but getting to Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras is a breeze (and cheap). The town also has plenty of great dining options, all for much less than you'd pay in Cuzco, and it's perfect for people watching. It may seem a bit rough around the edges at first but within a day you'll find it comfortable and even homey.

We had been there for work and looked for a peaceful place to spend the night, which we found. I know Urubamba, since I live in the Sacred Valley. Nice little town, where you find everything, you need for a short or long stay.

I liked staying here. Great food. Some good local sights.
I liked staying here. Great food. Some good local sights. Easy access to both Pisac and Ollantaytambo. It's a little less quaint than those other two tourist hot spots, but I preferred that Urubamba was a real city, with less domination from tourists. It is more centrally located than the other two, making it easier to get to them both. Really enjoyed my stay.

Urubamba is a good place to stay to see the sights in the sacred valley. There are a lot of restaurants and our hotel into nan was outstanding. Our hosts arranged taxis to show us the sights, and once the owner even drove us to a shop!
The staff is amazing Sergio, David and their team are all day trying to make sure everyone is happy. From turning on the fire place, the bbq or taking the guests on a hike... nothing is too much for them. We traveled with our two kids of 2 and 4 years and it turned out their favorite hotel of our trip. A memorable stay! We will be back! Our room had a private bathroom and two double beds an a single bed. All very comfortable with enough blankets to stay warm.
The place is beautiful and close to the mountains. Fantastic location to relax and rest after long walks. Breakfast is good, we bought some additional ingredients in the market to upgrade. The service at the restaurant is fantastic. At the reception, they help you book taxis and also offered a free yoga session at the hotel. The Internet was great, I was able to make webcalls for my work.
This hotel was perfect. Our family of 4 (2adults, 2kids 7 & 9) stayed here and it was such a great value. We felt safe, the room was super clean, and the breakfast every morning was so fresh. We have no complaints- it was perfect for our stay to climatize before heading to Machu Picchu. Would recommend this place to others.
Exceptionally amazing hotel! Absolutely loved the location overlooking the beautiful mountains. The hotel is stunning decorated with amazing hand crafted local Peruvian pieces which made the hotel feel warm and inviting.
The service was excellent particularly from Edgar. Book the suite with the fire place, it’s incredible!
The room was very spacious, new and clean. We loved the parrot living near the kitchen. The hosts did their best to assist with whatever we needed and we used the option to book a tour with a discount with the agency that is managed by the owners which was very good.
Room was very comfortable and clean, spacious with a kitchen. Balcony was great. Came down with a flu after visiting Machu Picchu in the rain and the staff was more than helpful. Location a little far out of Urubamba, but can take a taxi, or bus for just 2 soles.
We had a very nice host (peruvian young man) that changes our feeling of the city (as we came from a previous hotel with a rude host) : he did all he can to make us spend a nice time and we REALLY appreciate ! Nice pool and nice room !
Our host was so accommodating and really friendly. A lovely hot shower with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast is lovely and staying in the scared valley is a must if you are traveling around Peru. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The hotel is beautiful and the grounds lovely. Having llamas, parrots and peacocks makes the place more special. Nice big room, with great view. the staff is very attentive and the food delicious.
lovely casitas surrounded by gardens
the location was in Urubamba so not really anything available within walking distance but a great base for exploring the area ( but transportation necessary )
The hotel is located in a old monastery. It is super charming. 10 minutes walking from the main square in a very quiet area. Our room was big and clean. Food and drinks were good
Great place, great staff, very great hotel. Will come come back again. Awesome hotel to stay at if you want a weekend away in the valley, or on your way to MP.
