Lovely pool, and gardens. Very friendly staff, comfy beds, and fantastic red wine. What else do you need.
Sitting in 120 hectares of Douro Valley vineyards, this traditional manor house has been converted into Portugal’s first wine hotel.

Quinta Nova is an amazing experience and the location and views are outstanding, the staff were lovely, although language was sometimes a challenge, they may have been a little short staffed while we were there as we did have to wait a while when we ordered drinks a few times. The position and overall experience was wonderful.
The modern LBV House Hotel is inserted in the center of the Alto Douro wine region.

Each day dinner was an amazing experience. Visiting the winery and the wine tasting sessions are, to my mind, obligatory. Wonderful wines, drink slowly, they keep topping you up....

Great place to stay, the apartment is excellent, and has everything you will need (including basic cooking condiments salt pepper olive oil!)! The location is also super good! Pedro and Thiago are great hosts, and were very accommodating. It is super handy that they run the Cafe across from the train station so it is very easy if you need to store your bags before/after check-in. I highly recommend this place!

A lovely family-run guest house, located a short walk (15 mins) from the centre of Pinhao, with good restaurants slightly closer. An absolute highlight of our holiday in Portugal was a tour of the family's vineyard, which we shared with a couple of other guests, and the wines they produce are delicious too!
Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden and views of inner courtyard, Casa Dona Eufémia is located in Pinhão, 26 km from Douro Museum.

Relaxing, scenic and pleasant.
Rooms are basic, but exactly what I expected.
The terrace was lovely place to sit, with a bottle of wine overlooking the valley and vineyards.

I recommend staying at least a night at Douro hostel, a home away from home (and honestly the best hostel I've ever stayed in, more like a guest house). Staying a night will give you the time you need to explore the hills, vineyards. Make sure to pop into the local butcher for some incredible cured pork and cheese!

We drove to Pinhão.
We drove to Pinhão. The roads are slightly terrifying but the views are spectacular.
We were there in March so not everything was open. Best restaurant was Writers Place! The walking trails through the vineyards were fantastic!

The perfect spot to explore some of the lovely Quintas the Douro Valley has to offer. Would definitely recommend Pinhao as your base. We drove to Pinhao from Porto which was great for sight seeing and super easy. We visited the three Quintas that are within walking distance from Pinhao train station which were lovely. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance for dinners or lunch where possible. But we also did a few walk ins.

Pinhao is stunning. with good selection of restaurants in the evening. Beautiful wineries. As the wineries are built into cliffs the drive to Pinhao and around is not for the faint hearted. The roads are very narrow some without safety barriers. However if you can get past this it is worth it for the scenary. It is a sleepy village but everyone is so friendly. One or two days maximum is enough.

Excellent location on an S bend on the river Douro.
Excellent location on an S bend on the river Douro. Sleepy village atmosphere but with plenty of activities around the railway boat trips and quinta wine tasting. Some good restaurants. Wonderful views if you climb up through the village. Watch out for the dogs though - they are always enclosed but can be extremely aggressive.
Fantastic tucked on a hill surrounded by olive trees and vines (perfect for a morning hike) and located at walking distance to the Pinhao town. The House has a real homy feel to it and is well appointed. The fridge was stocked perfectly for us to make nice breakfasts in the morning and the clothes washer was a nice bonus as we are traveling across country. We also enjoyed a nice evening using the wood burning BBQ. This house is perfect to enjoy this incredible wine country and the beautiful views it offers.
The location was picture perfect, the property had everything you could want for a short or long stay. The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Ana stocked the fridge with so many wonderful treats we were delighted! The daily fresh bread made us want to stay forever! 46 is the house number, between two store fronts in a large, yellow housing unit. Directly across from a cute little wine shop. Pinhao is transforming and therefore a little sleepy, it was great to have a place to call home!
We stayed on the ground floor, and were pleasantly surprised by the size, and presentation of our room. The view from our 'terrace', the 'pool' and the breakfast room was beautiful - probably the nicest in all of Pinhao! The location is also ideal if you don't mind a 10/15 minute walk to the centre of Pinhao - although I wouldn't recommend the route for young families as the start of the walk is along the roadside. There is also a gorgeous HUGE dog who lives on site - a gentle giant :)
Location and views from our room overlooking the Douro and Pinhao village were outstanding. The hillside gardens and pool area are beautiful too.
Welcome airconditioning in a region that can get very hot.
Dinner on the balcony was memorable.
Pinhao town nearby is lovely, especially the station and its mosaic tiles. Lovely atmosphere in this secluded and magical spot. The approach from the north down the steep winding road is simply stunning.
The region is beautiful and the location of the hotel is very privileged. The views from the vineyards are breathtaking. Staff were friendly. We had a great experience at Cozinha da Clara for dinner and the breakfast served there was also good. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was a file in the room with information about the region and the story of the winery which was interesting and a nice touch.
First of all two staff Pedro and Sara were very very wonderful.
Their attitudes for the guests and friends is amazingly friendly, and gave us many nice advices and suggestions to enjoy Pinhao and around.
The room is very clean and the rooftop garden is also wonderful.
I could appreciate 4 Douro and Porto wine tastings and replied some to "HONOR BOX".
This is an exceptionally clean and well cared for place, a short walk from the train station in Pinhão.
The kitchen is very well equipped, including bottled water, butter, jam, milk, cereal, tea and coffee. I was so surprised to receive breakfast each morning! Tânia was a very responsive host and very helpful with my questions.
Gorgeous hotel situated by the river with incredible view of surrounding landscape. The hotel gave us a welcome champagne to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which is greatly appreciated. We had a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel in the heart of the Douro Valley.
I am usually suspicious of places where the reviews seem too good to be true, but every glowing review has been well earned. Pedro and Sara could not have been more friendly and hospitable hosts, and our experience in Pinhao was made by our stay in the hostel.
Lovely location. Pinhao is a beautiful town and all the places in the town are walkable. The host Francisco made our stay memorable and helped us at every stage. The house has all the facilities and makes one feel at home.
Location for walking into and around Pinhão was excellent and for access to boat trips, train rides and vineyard experience. View over the River Douro from the balcony was stunning. Weather was unexpectedly great too.
Antonio was a great host and was great at communicating. This is a cosy and well located place in Pinhao. Would recommend to anyone wanting a taste of Douro Valley. Parking on street was free and quite easy to find.
Incredible view. Join the evening meal at least one night to meet fellow travelers from different countries. Book a tour at the olive museum near the hotel. Visit the other Quintas at the top of the hill.
The apartment was perfect for our visit to Pinhao. It came generously supplied and thoughtfully decorated. The terrace provided a most spectacular setting for breakfast with incredible views of the Douro.
nice location, few minutes walk to Pinhao across pedestrian bridge. Easy driving to nearby Quinta’s. Welcoming hosts, deluxe room very spacious. Property very clean and onsite parking.
Pinhao is a lovely place and a beautiful location. Great selection of good quality restaurants. Beautiful scenery. Real nice 'vibe' about the entire place. Host was very helpful.
