I loved the food and the environment at the hotel was so cool and calm what I actually loved the most was the fact that you guys put Bibles in these rooms makes it exceptional. May God bless Sandton for this.

Wild Tracks Overland Camp, hotel in Kasese

Located in Kasese, 5 miles from Queen Elizabeth National Park, Wild Tracks Overland Camp provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Overall the experience was lacking, so will list a few good things. The accomodation had two beds with mosquito netting, bathroom with open shower, and had a covered deck with breakfast table and lounge chair. A standing fan was provided in the room. The chefs seemed professional, made an excellent banana flambe for dessert. The grounds are pretty and the wall keeps out predators (saw a hyena a few miles down the road). It is a 20-minute drive to the Kasenyi entrance of Queen Elizabeth.

Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campsite, hotel in Kasese

Set in Kasese, 16 mi from Katunguru, Kasenyi Lake Retreat & Campground offers accommodations. The lodge is set on the shores of Lake George inside Queen Elizabeth National Park.

It was a bit off the beaten track but right next to Lake George. Hippos were wandering around and grunting while we were dining outside, and the food was really good. They wash their vegetables in filtered water. Carol, the manager, was awesome-really nice and attentive to anything we needed, within her ability to help. The rooms are individual huts- basic but clean enough. Water pressure in our room was weak but we didn’t take showers. The electrical outlets in the rooms didn’t work but we found out later that we should have asked Carol and they just needed to restart the inverter (?) We had a beautiful evening sitting around a campfire after dinner, watching the moon over the water and listening to the hippos and night noises. For a really nice budget accommodation run by great people we highly recommend the Kasenyi Lake retreat and campsites.

Breakfast was fine. Our Lodge was a bit of a walk and I suffer from Afib so we drove the 500 mtrs back and forth. Great staff. Francis rules! Wifi no good at outer Lodges so they need a booster.

Mbunga Community Tourism Campsite, hotel in Kasese

Located in Mbunga Community in the Rwenzori Mountains, Mbunga campground offers accommodations in traditionally built bandas, and offers views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

The site is very basic but safe, comfortable, and very quiet. Checkin was easy and they prepared a warm dinner for my arrival. They have beer and water for purchase. Breakfast was generous with a tasty rolex, omelette, and coffee. The bandas are brand new along with the toilet, and they are in the process of expanding the number of bandas. It is primitive but comfortable accomodation, without electricity or running water outside of the reception/dining area. You will be provided a portable lamp. There isn't much of a view from the campsite, but the 1700 meter altitude provides an excellent view of the constellations and stars - bring your camera. There is a small village about 400 meters from the campsite, but stock up in Kasese before heading up. The temperature is cool at night, but blankets are provided. There is a small basin and large jug of water for light washing in the banda. It is not the easiest place to get to or stay at, but decent enough if you are looking for an adventure and a start to explore the Rwenzori Mountains.
