La Chaux-de-Fonds is an interesting town with some history.
La Chaux-de-Fonds is an interesting town with some history. It is a great place to start exploring the Jura mountains. In winter you can enjoy fog-free weather and beautiful sceneries in the countryside (go for a winter hike). If you are only looking a nice looking tourist spot, this town may not be for you.

We took the little train around town and saw several Le Corbusier villas with the final stop in front of the Watch museum which is worth a visit. People in general are friendly and are happy to help and give directions or ideas what to do. There are lovely hiking and biking trails in this area.

The town is not exactly beautiful, but has great museums and is surrounded by beautiful nature. It is also well connected by train and buses. When staying there you get a pass with loads of free entries to museums and free public transport within the Canton of Neuchâtel, including a boat ride on the river Doubs (very beautiful!)

The staff is very friendly and very welcoming. The hotel is only recently refurbished, reception is nice done, corridors and rooms are also OK. The rooms are very clean, big enough and equipped with a TV, small office and fridge.
The bathroom is not redone, but is in a good shape, but a bit outdated, but no negative point here as they shower was clean, worked well and had good warm water.
Pizza grill restaurant next doors is also owned by the same people or family, which is very convenient.
Room was clean, quiet and spacious and the bathroom had been upgraded to modern style fixtures. So, even though the hotel was an older property, the room was well maintained. The hotel had a small elevator, 2 person size. Location was great, located in downtown La Chaux du Fonds and walking distance to the International Museum of Horology, a shopping mall and restaurants. Hotel even had a small parking lot if you are driving.
I used this hotel as a stop-over while hiking Rte 95 along the River Doubs. It is located right next to the 371 bus stop ‘Espacité’ which is the bus you need to access the river at Maison Monsieur or Biaufond. The hotel has no bar but is 30 seconds away from a very nice Brasserie which has a great selection of artisinal beers.
Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, staff were friendly.
Staying at this hotel in the heart of La Chaux is a very special experience. The hotel and its rooms feel very vintage and from another era. The location is perfect just few minutes walk from the train station and the staff were very nice and friendly. they also give you a free ticket booklet which allows you to visit many museums and attractions in the region for free.

The hotel was amazing when we walking in it was almost like we'd stepped back to the 1930's with the decor i loved it with the spiral staircase and massive chandelier. The staff were really helpful and the room was very comfortable. They had off road parking which was brilliant as the hotel is located in the center of the town.
The room itself is great. It's spacious, well located and with a small kitchen.
It's possible to safely store your bike for the night inside the building.
The hotel is right next to a vegan and gluten-free friendly restaurant.
Amazing hotel! Rooms are just renovated, very clean and furniture is best quality. Had a warm welcome and very nice breakfast from local products. 10 out of 10! Thank yoy very much!
