I have often visited Germany as our daughter lived in Heidelberg for 10 years. However, this was my first trip to Hamburg and I would like to return. My son and I came to visit Miniatur Wunderland which was absolutely fantastic. Travelling round Hamburg was very cheap and easy due to excellent public transport. There were plenty of places to eat and we found prices to be generally very reasonable. Hamburg couldn't help the cold and wet weather we experienced so a return in the summer would be sensible!

We arrived to our hotel site in the rain.
We arrived to our hotel site in the rain. There is no drive up in front of the building, no parking close to the building so you can check in. You have to go to the 8th floor to check in and rooms are on 3rd, 4th and 5th floors. They put us in a room with a SMALL bed (full or 3/4 size), there were exactly 2 towels. There was one glass. It was a tiny room. I personally would not recommend this hotel to my friends or others. The breakfast service was good.

The Miniature Wonderland is a must go! I also recommend a visit to the Philharmonic building. Getting into a 100m long old military submarine is something that I never dreamed about. Super interesting!
The city is full of high designed buildings and nice places to go.

I travel to Hamburg every year for a convention, so my purpose for visiting is not tourism in the first instance.
However, over time I have been able to visit many of Hamburg's cultural attractions and can highly recommend it as a tourist destination.
Public transport is efficient and punctual, and everywhere is easily accessible.
Visit Hamburg - it's a great city!

Hamburg was a surprise.
Hamburg was a surprise. It's not a tourist city as such, I mean they have things to see and tour buses, but it's not the mainstay by any means (no tourist tat shops gives that away!) This is a working port town in one part and an absolutely stunning old town/commercial centre on the other.
The retail opportunities are fabulous so this would be a recommended visit for a shopping trip.
Culturally, there are things to see. We visited the Rathaus and Kunsthalle for example and found these very interesting.
There's history mixed with a lot of new and as mentioned, it's a working town so old buildings and canals with new high rise office blocks. Super clean and easy to get about though. Walk or cycle, don't bother with the train if you're staying in the centre.
One thing to avoid would be Reeperbarn as its tacky, full of cheap bars and sex based options (unless that's your plan for a trip there).
All in all, I would go back again. Shopping and socialising in the city centre are key. Go when it's warm to make the most of the abundant cafe culture outside.

The city was a lot bigger than I thought and I wished I'd have had more time. The local people and police force are very friendly and helpful - most speak English. The train service, throughout the City, to and from the main airport is excellent.
The location was perfect for access to outr corporate site which is less than a mile away. I had rented a car and had adjacent garage parking which was very much appreciated. In the future I will use taxis and mass transit when I stay. I will ocntinue to use this space when in Hamburg for client events at our space. The hotel is adjacent to some great restaurants and bars, some of which I enjoyed. The breakfast buffet was good.
The Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg is a great choice. Wonderful location in front of the lake but also walking distance from the central train station. Rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. What made the difference was the young staff: high customer orientation and always willing to help and find solutions to our requests. We strongly recommend this hotel for anyone who would like to have a memorable experience in Hamburg.
The bed, bath and general room were spacious. The hotel was well-maintained and clean. I found the staff helpful in notifying me of the rules/regulations in Hamburg during these difficult COVID-19 times. Niclas Dannhaeuses helped me book a test at the nearby test centre (all the instructions were in German so I could not navigate the website by myself).
Boutique style hotel with great design, perfectly located in Hafencity right next to Speicherstadt und with the city centre in walking distance. Big fan of Boilerman bar and Neni restaurant, both within the building. Super friendly staff, always happy to help. and of course „Stop the water while using“ cosmetics available in the rooms.
The hotel is very conveniently located, just a ten minute walk from Hamburg Hbf and close to the U and S-Bahn. There is also a small shopping centre nearby, with a big supermarket and some food outlets. The hotel appears to be quite new, with fresh and bright rooms, which are nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and cheerful.
The hotel was perfect located 2 stops behind the central train station. The bus stop was just across the street and with the Hamburg Card you can get around Hamburg very easy and cheap (bus, subway and ferries). Good selection of complimentary drinks in the room (icetea, apple juice, water and coffee).
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in Germany ever, very beautiful and clean, has quite large rooms, and extremely helpful and kind staff. Located in a nice and quiet area. The breakfast, well this was extremely good, plenty of choices. If I ever go to Hamburg again, I wouldn't look further.
Large modern hotel in a great location with friendly staff that speak English.. Family room was a good size and breakfast was excellent with a large selection. Hotel is right next to escalator down to HafenCity U4 U-Bahn station which gives quick and cheap access to all parts of Hamburg.
The front desk made the difference… I ask to anticipate my check in because I had to leave Hamburg as soon aa I arrive. For the first time in 15 hotels in a row, they tried to understand the why of my request and help me.
Best hotel in my 25 days journey around Denmark, Sweden and Germany
This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel; there is so much to be appreciated in the look and feel of the rooms and the overall hotel. Very well run. The location is great in order to experience the slighter calmer and beautiful side of Hamburg, but equally walkable to the city Centre.
The hotel staff are very friendly and supportive. Breakfast is decent with plenty of food and drinks to select. The hotel is located opposite to the Hamburg central railway station, which is very convenient in terms of public transportation.
Very clean, relatively close to the centre (they have e scooters parked outside and it makes it super easy to move around Hamburg). The street behind the hotel is full of cool bars and restaurants and a rather delicious curry house :)
Beautiful hotel, very well located for the train station and the city centre. Room was comfortable and modern, quiet at night. The hotel facilities including the bar and the breakfast were excellent. We had a great stay.
Very comfortable room and excellent location in the area of the Hamburg Conference Centre and Messe. Public transport is nearby and the beautiful gardens on the hotel's doorstep are a plus. The staff were very helpful.
This is my second stay at the hotel, and I absolutely love it: spacious room, quiet green neighbourhood, great location if you're traveling from Copenhagen or your business takes you to western parts of Hamburg.
Very well located for getting around Hamburg..easy walk into centre. Station adjacent. Well appointed hotel, great pool & spa, good restaurants with outdoor seating. Excellent breakfast buffet
the hotel was really nice staff was super friendly the hotel was clean quiet and very peaceful the location was really nice very close to the city centre and so close to the metro station
This is a very nice hotel in Hamburg. I love the location, an easy walk from the train station. Also, the staff were very helpful and professional. Excellent breakfast, too!
