Excellent breakfast, room had nice view of the garden, room was clean and bed comfortable. For price paid very good value. Although did not use it downstairs lounge looked very comfortable with homely feel. Would have liked to have gone into Ely as only short walk did make the Albert pub which was quite nice but bit pricey. Reasonable parking bit tight to get through main entrance of the car park for van(Renault trafic LWB) but once in fine.

We spent 2 nights on Puzzle in November - not the best time to stay on a narrowboat in England but the brilliant central heating made it totally possible. It was very cosy and had absolutely everything we needed. If you're looking for something unique and bespoke, this is definitely the place for you. Martin was an excellent host, meeting us and allowing us to be flexible in checking in and out. There were a few little extras waiting for us on board which were much appreciated plus tea/coffee and condiments etc. For our second night, we bought food from the Tesco superstore (5 minutes walk away) and cooked in. It's a shame the weather was too chilly to sit outside on the deck for drinks or breakfast or to open the side hatches but we'll just have to come again when it's warmer! Ely is a great place and I highly recommend the cathedral tour and Octagon Tower tour.

Ely is a wonderful small town for a few days stay - along the river is excellent on a fine day and a nice pub to have a drink and watch the world go by. Ely Cathedral was magnificent - we have visited many across UK and this is certainly one of the best - Stained Glass exhibition is also worth a visit. Cromwells House and Ely Museum worth a visit if you have time. Ely Cathedral has the Armoury Cafe which we would recommended for lunch. For dinner: The Lamb was excellent with wonderful food at a fair price.

Stayed at a hotel 10 minutes walk into Ely, the weather was extremely windy but we enjoyed the walk. We found quite a few quirly shops plus alll the usual high street shops, a few cafes and few places pto have a tea or coffee. We were surprised that the local carparks were free … what a bonus.
We walked around the cathedral and were amazed at the beauty of this truly amazing stricture.
We can recommend the Minster Arms for an evening meal, where they offer good food and ample servings.
We only stayed for a day and night but there will definately be another return visit to Ely

We loved the cathedral, which was at its most mystical when we visited in December. We attended two fantastic events in the cathedral during our stay – but needed a mulled wine afterwards to warm us up!
Another high point was the Farmers' market, which had all sorts of tempting foodstuffs on offer.

Loved the cathedral and the purpose of the visit was to see a performance of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” in the evening at the cathedral. A lovely way to start Christmas. A very good production of professional actors. Also went to the market and High Street and Oliver Cromwell’s house. All very interesting and enjoyable. Great pubs, good beer and food within walking distance.
The approach through the big gates are quite breath taking. The views of the grounds are spectacular - wonderful sculpted hedges and well maintained grounds. The double room was finished to a high level and spacious. Staff were first class. nick the night porter went above and beyond to check me in and get me to my room when I arrived past midnight.
Fantastic location being so close to Ely train station, which I used to avoid driving in to Cambridge itself. Good strong wi-fi throughout the hotel as well - great from a works perspective.
Honestly, do yourself a favour and try the pub across the road that doubles up as a hotel. Our trip was very short notice and we booked Ely GH the day before, but we were disappointed to find that double rooms are priced way cheaper at the Pub and they also do a fantastic Sunday roast. I always read reviews before booking but let my guard down here, never again. It was probably one of the worse places I have ever stayed in my life and I’m not young.
BTW, I gave £110, where is my change?

Was very easy to get to and close to the high street with restaurants/shops.
The staff member who checked me in was helpful and kind, and the staff member who served me breakfast the next day was great too. The room had an extremely comfy bed and perfect shower. The hotel was very quiet and I was uninterrupted by any noise.
More of a personalised experience compared to a boring hotel room.
Great cosy feel with excellent facilities.
Private parking is so convenient.
Everything you need for a couple's stay in the area.
The hosts were really friendly and easily accessible. Overall, we thoroughly recommend a stay and would definitely come again.
This hotel is absolutely ideally located just on the edge of Ely. The city centre is a very pleasant, short walk away. The room was very comfortable and had everything you would expect. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice, including some more unusual options. A great stay from start to finish, thank you.
Lovely hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful, room was spotless and air conditioning made it even better. I can honestly say its the best breakfast I've had. Location was perfect the river was 5 minutes walk away and the town centre 5 minutes the other way. Will definitely be returning.
Castle Lodge was a basic hotel in a good location in Ely. It wasn't a great hotel, but the process reflected that. You get what you pay for and I have no complaints. Would happily go again. If you don't want to spend a lot and you're OK with just the basics, Castle Lodge is just fine.
The room was furnished to a high standard, very comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was luxurious. The location was good, by the river and we had a nice river view. It was an easy and pleasant walk to Ely centre.
The Nyton is cozy and quaint--just what we expected. It is within easy walking distance of the town and cathedral. We had a good breakfast, served in their pleasant dining room. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful.
The hotel was easy to find and the check-in details were easy to follow. Our room was comfortable, modern and very clean. The range of breakfast choice was excellent and the food was fresh and nicely displayed.

hotel was lovely and staff helpful.
Great location just across from the Ely Cathedral and close to the main market area of town. great bar and breakfast room. Nice robe in room. the bathroom was huge! Shower was fantastic.
The apartment is bright and well appointed. The location is excellent, close to Ely centre and cathedral. It had everything we needed for a short stay.
